@rgmerk @LRussellWolpe Unless #Optus retains the Medicare number, the government can't be certain they really saw it in the first place. Bigger issue is why it was not properly hashed, maybe? (This may be some obvious blunder on my part; I'm not following the story closely.) #OptusHack

Every single interaction with @Telstra customer service has been fantastic and nobody has tried to invalidate my identity like @Optus had been previously. I’m glad I’ve officially ported over after some chaos the past 3 weeks!

found @optus used live customer data instead of dummy data to test their unauthenticated API which they then forgot to make authenticated so 3 months later they worked out they should shut it when it was hacked - totally useless company - no auditing re #security #databreach

@spaghezzy @Optus It's the latest customer service technique to prevent financial lost, don't answer the phone when they call to cancel. I bet if you select you want a new phone line, they pick up right away lol
