I am not with Optus anymore. My partner got his identity stolen and someone added a second phone number to his account and dealing with them trying to resolve this issue was absolutely painful and I am sorry for anyone else about to go through the same thing.

@CyberGovAU @Optus The potential damage of identity theft is lifelong and alot more serious than what the public are being warned of. There should be serious penalties for Optus not protecting customers information. There is no excuse.

@RossFloate Optus and our really crap privacy laws can get in the bin.

@kuke @Optus It’s her responsibility to put in place adequate security systems - however she does that is also up to her. To then try and throw some poor “programmer” under the bus for tripping over flaws in her systems is heinous behaviour. She needs to apologise and stand down

@Optus @RunnerSA18 what are you ACTUALLY doing to help customers with their 100 points of ID that has now been taken? Who is going to assist us in getting new drivers licences etc? An email stating to change our passwords or check our credit in 3months is not good enough?

Fck Optus.....i'm about to change back to getting my **** service from Telstra!
-
Cathy (@CWatchcat) reported
@CyberGovAU @Optus The cyber criminals apparently have identity information of millions of Optus customers for the rest of their lives for the criminals to be able to create new accounts without the customer even knowing. And what they can do with that is very serious.

Are we to cancel/replace passports + driver's licenses? I expect we can deduct that cost from our future @Optus bills? Optus should also pay the Aust Govt for the time required to undertake replacing these docs for a third of the Oz population #optusfail #OptusDataBreach

Vishaan Solanki (@SolankiVishaan) reported
@DrKate_Miller @Optus Also with Optus, been with them for last 6 years, I can see cyber crimes being an ongoing issue for many years, in a connected world, it’s inevitable. Cyber attacks to eastern health (MELB) has happened twice in last 15 years, resulted in tax payer $ paid to hackers…

@Asher_Wolf Amaysim uses the Optus network too, does anyone know if other Telco carriers are effected?
