@nove777 @mjrowland68 From the information already published, it wasn't a sophisticated attack. It sounds like something any dev could have targeted if they knew the endpoint. Someone in corporate IT at Optus was either crap at writing policy or crap at enforcing it.

  • embeeveee RICKY (@embeeveee) reported

@mjrowland68 Funny how not 1 media organisation has provided the context that Optus is owned by an authoritarian gov. An essential service. They can own it and f+ck it, but we can't. ABC?

  • DocWSJames Doc 黄 Oz has a better Govt, slowly improving👍 (@DocWSJames) reported

@VictorDominello Replacement cost involved? WTF R u not charging Optus for this directly?

  • mark_meaton mark. meaton (@mark_meaton) reported

@6PRbreakfast @Optus @nphair No and maybe go back to a bit of in person shop service and not hold so much data

  • angi_grace Ange (@angi_grace) reported

Serious question if I haven’t heard from Optus yet does that mean my data is unaffected or are they just slow?

  • ServiceNSW Service NSW (@ServiceNSW) reported

@kintiq Hi Kintiq, ID Support NSW is working with Optus to support customers whose NSW government-issued credentials may have been impacted. Customers who may have been affected and need to replace documents can call the ID Support NSW team on 1800 001 040 - Mon to Fri (9am to 5pm).

  • 10NewsFirst 10 News First (@10NewsFirst) reported

The latest release of data comes with a warning that 10,000 customer details a day will be shared publicly unless Optus pays a $1.5 million ransom.

  • tweetsbysmash Ash Garcia (@tweetsbysmash) reported

@Equifax @eddieeagle93 I am having the same problem. Optus code can’t be applied. @Equifax some help?

  • manojthinks Manoj Kumar (@manojthinks) reported

A massive discount (if not free) on the monthly bills for 12 months, is what Optus can offer their impacted users. Way better than the 12-month subscription to an identity protection service. #OptusDataBreach

  • chrisfullalove Chris (@chrisfullalove) reported

I’m glad I left Optus a long time ago. For me it was the terrible mobile reception where we used to live and it’s just worked out well in the long run.
