@Optus have “technical errors” if you are trying to get technical help with NBN. That’s what I was told when transferred to NBN tech help desk, after another ridiculous amount of phone time.

Hey @Optus I moved house today and notwithstanding 3 weeks notice - guess what - no internet connection at my new house - and btw your “customer service” sucks - just time wasting useless conversations- how does a very long term loyal customer speak to someone who might fix this?

My name isn’t Andrew. But thanks to @optus I have access to his full name, home address, email address, passwords, contact number, credit card details and other random bits of information. My situation isn’t solved, and now if I was a bad guy, Andrew’s would have been ruined.

@optus can’t call me and I can’t call them because I don’t have either a business or a personal line. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Do we have any options that don’t leak peoples private data to randoms in Australia? How absolutely incompetent and stupid.

I'd blame the government before pointing a finger at SBS.

Optus then decided after over 90 mins of explaining myself multiple times to different people on chat, I’d need to wait for a call. That call happened, it was from the wrong department. So they had to transfer me. After 2 hours I got some help. “So what can we do today?” 🤯

@Optus hello, I received spam email this week claiming to be Optus & confirming that I had increased my laptop data usage with Optus. I never increased my data usage. Can you now confirm with me that my laptop/mobile plan hasn’t been changed? Thanks.

@ServiceNSW Sure, but the anecdotes coming through, including media reports I'm now seeing in the SMH, are that you're requiring @Optus to provide a letter saying that the individual customer's details were compromised, and @Optus are still pretending they're the victim here.

@Raf_Epstein Start with getting an alert placed on your credit file - that way if anyone tries to borrow money using your id - you will be notified. Contact equifax - and IMHO Optus should be paying for the credit alert service for you

Hey @Telstra No adsl since 4.22 am last Wednesday 21st. Mobile reception here is pretty **** so to hotspot I had to buy an Optus phone (tower nearby). I work at home, this is costing me money...NOONE seems to have any clue or will say out loud when this will be fixed. Not happy!

@Raf_Epstein This is the thing - you can't mitigate this damage. I can't get a new date of birth or licence number and I shouldn't have to go through the hell of changing the name I was given at birth becuase Optus is incompetent. They should simply be liable for any identity theft losses.

Just spent over 40 minutes on hold calling the @StGeorgeBank fraud team with an issue related to the @Optus hack. Didn't get to speak to anyone, at minute 44 they ended the call. Thrilled that these companies care so deeply about my security.

A lot of their employees will have also have Optus accounts because they would probe get some discount. So they will be furious with the company and trying to help the damage control. I hope their contact centre workers are given some support.
