@manthatcooks Give up, if it’s Optus you’re wishing to use then switch to @amaysim go buy a $2 starter sim, follow the instructions and 30 minutes later you’ll be up and running. Better value, fantastic support and, what’s stopping you?

@prairiegirl0028 Optus is like that right at the top. All open and freezing from the wind. Glad I'm down closer to the action now. Not sure we'll remain dry tomorrow night though in new seats. Unless of course it doesn't rain.

I'm an #Optus customer, so if a hacker now has my #Optus email address, all I have to do is change to Telstra, or other Server and voila...one problem is solved! 🙌🙌🙌

So how do the @Optus hackers demand a ransom? What will they ‘return’? Data that they have already copied? The damage has been done and is irreversible.

@Optus @iheartguitar If you're interested in alternatives @VodafoneAU had been great especially with their 4G backup, so even if NBN goes down the connection still works. Nowadays internet isn't a luxury, it's livelihood and companies need to step up their game to match.

@gbergsma @darylgibson @_sara_jade_ Optus have not released an incident report, nor do we know if they’re obliged to. It’s quite possible (literally) anybody with access to the internet also got a copy of the data for weeks, months etc.Difference is this person went public for money, therefore exposed the api issue

(@BadCustSvc101) reported
@Randall87454048 Actually, I'd make Optus forward to the govt the list of all medicare numbers it holds. They don't, for example, appear to hold mine. So it's not even EVERY medicare card that requires re-issuing. Just some of them. And the govt should re-issue those. AND PASSPORTS.

It's no coincidence that New South Wales has the worst response to the Optus breach, because it's the state run by South Western Sydney. The hacker should release all information they have on everyone living in South Western Sydney. Then we might see some justice.
