It should be investigated and people charged. I have a Vietnamese friend on a work visa who worked for a telecommunications company and now NBN. He often works from 7am to 9pm and in his first job he climbed those towers, often works weekends but never gets paid overtime!

@BarryDa79113466 @markhumphries @DichieraDomenic If the property was previously connected to the NBN (or previously had a phone service) you don't pay the fee. It's only the lucky first person who pays. The old CAN (phone network) had the same fee for the first phone line to a house. Starlink is more expensive too

  • MickBen13462740 Ex NT Sparky (@MickBen13462740) reported

@senatorbabet Why should the military solve problems that aren’t theirs? Whats next operation can’t connect my NBN. Forces need to be training not babysitting

  • Blameitallonme3 Blame it all on me (@Blameitallonme3) reported

@markhumphries My NBN connection went down the other day so I charged my Telstra wireless modem/sim. For the 3 of us plus TV streaming we didn't notice any difference.

  • TheRealPembo Michael Pemberton (@TheRealPembo) reported

@frosty_morgan @markhumphries The fee is from the wholesaler (NBN). It is only applicable if the premise has not had an active service in the past. This is often due to someone cancelling the phoneline prior to NBN rollout and nobody connected NBN.

  • Medicayy Med 💉💉💉🦠💉 (@Medicayy) reported

@markhumphries Is the #NBN connection fee a property a one-time cost of installation of it to that property or a reoccurring fee per customer?

  • mgherman Michael Herman (@mgherman) reported

Hi @NBN_Australia Why is it not possible to get an ETA on a network outage?

  • dbmgreen David (@dbmgreen) reported

@BeeMo16 @markhumphries @markhumphries Mark, just enforce your rights and ask for a phone service to be supplied. Obviously nowadays that requires an NBN connection. Once supplied, you can convert to DataConnection no fee.

  • misullivan Michelle Sullivan @mis@aus.social (@misullivan) reported

@markhumphries I’m just sick of the NBN being so unreliable.. 5 years ago I was told I’d have trouble because the copper was green.. 5 years of being fobbed off.. apparently they’re coming tomorrow at 8 am... *again*!

  • frosty_morgan Frosty Morgan (@frosty_morgan) reported

@markhumphries Who is actually charging? NBN or a service provider like Telstra or Dodo etc. I live in regional NSW and use Mint Telecom, based in Hobart. Get immediate response on phone if have issues, & very quick to set you up.

  • akaNorman Emo Dad (@akaNorman) reported

@markhumphries Was the rental listed as having NBN? If so they have to pay it. It’s a one off service cost and until it’s paid there’s no NBN connection. I have had this argument twice with 2 different real estates and won both times after explaining (politely) how the fee works
