    It should be investigated and people charged. I have a Vietnamese friend on a work visa who worked for a telecommunications company and now NBN. He often works from 7am to 9pm and in his first job he climbed those towers, often works weekends but never gets paid overtime!

    The Labor Budget 🙄 So far all I see is nothing to help or support now, $250 in 2028. Ffs everyone has been left behind. We're spending more than that additionaly on groceries, fuel , insurances, nbn, etc etc. Where's the relief.

    @AtomicEconomics So the Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison governments were all completely helpless and none of the debt was their fault? Even though they completely redesigned the NBN rollout? The NDIS is Labor’s fault even though it passed with the bipartisan support and was implemented by the LNP?

    @whereisaaron @robb_j_m @NBN_Australia That doesn't work with infrastructure. This only works in a production line environment where the fixed costs are spread over a higher volume produced. Infrastructure increase as the demand goes up. More people more lines, more nodes more exchanges, more costs. Its not fixed.

    This should NEVER happen. We have written to the federal minister and the NBN objecting to this and to clarify their total expenditure here. This data was all procured directly from the SCA 2026 Conference Sponsorship website page. (7/7)

    @BrowntownBrew @robb_j_m But real world demand was lower as no zoom or Netflix. But anyway - it’s moot. The government could buy every Australian household a starlink dish (2.5x faster than NBN) for <$6B - and we’re still not finished, having spent 10x that. The doomed NBN had the absurdist aim of connecting every sleepy country town with top shelf fibre whilst legally enforcing slow internet in our metropolitan centres (the only places where fibre is even economically viable). This is exactly what the libs predicted at the time and were ridiculed for it. How about just connect the high population centres (you know, the ones who actually need the internet for their livelihoods) and let rural people move to the city if they want 1gbps, and then later spent a few billion buying the rest starlink if we really wanted to continue pissing money up the wall (or just letting them buy it themselves, with their own money, if they really wanted it). You aren’t angry enough.

    I’m thankful I have NBN Fibre but even with that I will never use cloud gaming. why would the local computing die anyway? This AI craze will die quicker than the computer. Phones and laptops still need to be need built. What’s going to stop is that PCs will no longer be cheap
