@abc730 @geoff__thompson The premise of this article is flawed. Netflix was already in popular use in Australia when the Coalition made the decision to cripple the NBN and everyone was saying at the time that streaming TV would become the dominant platform. ABC's own iView service was launched in 2008.

“Labor had spent around $6.5 billion on the NBN when the Coalition took power in 2013, with the government since splashing more than $44 billion of taxpayer funds to create what experts have described as an “obsolete” and “third-world” broadband network.” Arrogant f**king lnp.

“Mr Mullen claimed that the NBN’s high wholesale pricing would force resellers to “withdraw or go broke”, with consumers ultimately losing out. “The downside of this in turn will be fewer service providers and ultimately higher broadband prices to the consumer,” Mr Mullen said.”

@debbieschipp @Optus Ouch. :( good luck. I remember when Optus lied to my parents to get them to sign up to an NBN plan and nearly lost their home phone number for good. They have terrible customer service.

@A_D_Morgan @NBN_Australia @PaulFletcherMP I'd call my local MP but the thought of getting in my car and driving to another location to get a phone signal to speak with lying ********* makes me want to lie face down in some beer.

@FinancialReview Complete? If by replacing a fully functioning HFC network with an inferior one and slapping the NBN logo on it means it is complete, then obviously it is complete. + until every ADSL/dial up customer transfers to NBN, but can't (there are plenty) it's not complete.

@GrogsGamut In postcode 3046, 'fully operational' means frequent dropouts and faults on a FFTC NBN service completed in late 2018. In postcode 3059, 'fully operational' means no NBN service AT ALL in a relative's house I discovered just weeks ago 🤔

@chrisfordoz Hi Chris, This is a NBN outage that im afraid, we dont have a lot of control with this. However, any info on them is given to you by clicking the info bubble (little 'i') on that page for that outage. We get this info from NBN and relay it directly to you :)

@cameronwilson @SallyRMelb 2 days before xmas when no one is paying attention...... but this is a keeper to trot out in the totally unlikely event anyone of here should mention the fact the NBN is crap.

@Aussie_BB I understand that, however, my relationship is with you, not NBN. They are your supplier not mine. Two weeks in a row we've had "scheduled" outages where I got your notification just as the outage began. This doesn't meet a reasonable threshold of good customer comms

I called @iinet basically every day but **** just went in circles with no resolution including an appointment they cancelled bc they still hadn't got OUR ADDRESS RIGHT! Now it's 2 days to Christmas. The next available @NBN_Australia appointment is Jan 19. HEAD EXPLODING

The @Optus website still sucks. The NBN plans are as clear as mud. 5G is available to about 10% of Sydney. I can't be bothered.
