Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Alstonville and nearby locations:

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“Labor had spent around $6.5 billion on the NBN when the Coalition took power in 2013, with the government since splashing more than $44 billion of taxpayer funds to create what experts have described as an “obsolete” and “third-world” broadband network.” Arrogant f**king lnp.

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“The staggering sum was highlighted by the nation’s peak body for phone and internet users on Wednesday, in a response to the consumer watchdog’s NBN Wholesale Service Standards Inquiry draft decision.”

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“However, Internet Australia chair Paul Brooks slammed the report as “self-serving” & “disingenuous”. “Clearly [the NBN Co] have an image problem they’re trying to repair, and that image problem is justified,” Dr Brooks said. Speedtest ranks Australia 61st for broadband speed”

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“By next year, the NBN Co has promised to have 8.1 million homes and businesses using the service, with a further 11.7 million ready to connect. However, experts have warned the NBN’s speed and reliability issues will only worsen as more households and businesses connect.”

  • raywilton4 💧Ray Wilton 💧💦 (@raywilton4) reported from Lennox Head, State of New South Wales

“Mr Mullen claimed that the NBN’s high wholesale pricing would force resellers to “withdraw or go broke”, with consumers ultimately losing out. “The downside of this in turn will be fewer service providers and ultimately higher broadband prices to the consumer,” Mr Mullen said.”

  • manaz_d Robert Hudson (@manaz_d) reported from Lismore, State of New South Wales

Yay, NBN issues. Two neighbours (with different RSPs) also having issues. Nearly 3 hours after the outage started, @NBN_Australia still don't know about it (or haven't acknowledged it in their outages listing)

  • willjackson Will Jackson (@willjackson) reported from Lismore, State of New South Wales

@abc730 @geoff__thompson The premise of this article is flawed. Netflix was already in popular use in Australia when the Coalition made the decision to cripple the NBN and everyone was saying at the time that streaming TV would become the dominant platform. ABC's own iView service was launched in 2008.

  • fmulla_comms Farooq Mulla (@fmulla_comms) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

At last, connected. Only took @VodafoneAU @NBN_Australia nearly 4 weeks and constant chasing. It shouldn’t have been this challenging & time consuming - clearly something not right, won’t hold my breath for apology or compensation. I’ll treat myself to some @GreysABC #andbreathe

  • TheSassyRed Eleanor Howlett (@TheSassyRed) reported

@MrDTJames @Telstra Oh, but when they want you to join their NBN plans they'll call you 17 times a day and there's a **** grinning picture of them all under the word "accessible" in the dictionary.

  • hilly_syd gjayh (@hilly_syd) reported

@Telstra and @NBN_Australia have let us down. Tomorrow will be two weeks with no service, a simple transfer. After moving house. It’ll be easy they said. So we waited. 40 contacts, 6 hours of input.

  • EddieJRClarke Eddie Clarke (@EddieJRClarke) reported

@ShaunRatcliff @NBN_Australia Mine has dropped out at least 20 times since the beginning of the year (been keeping a log). My ISP refuses to send out a technician, and every other day there seems to be emergency NBN works locally 🤷

  • IxatDnats Evangelical Atheist (@IxatDnats) reported

@kimbakit @BelindaJones68 For WHAT? Our crap NBN????

  • VegJames James (@VegJames) reported

@Patrickothewerf @jagungal1 @joshgnosis Have either of you called your nbn provider? I had this issue with drop outs from light rain and provider could see so many drop outs they organised nbn tech to repair. Worked first time but have also heard horror stories.

  • neil_daws Neil Daws (@neil_daws) reported

@BrowntownBrew @theheraldsun Fibre does not bend like copper, otherwise the driveways wouldnt have to be dug up. Materials have become a whole lot better since the first concept NBN. Fibre is rolled out in all the new suburbs. Its just the old suburbs that are an issue.

  • EmilTorroba Emil Martin Torroba (@EmilTorroba) reported

@iiNet Service is bad! The NBN continues to drop out

  • ibuylithium1 Steve #silver squeeze (@ibuylithium1) reported

@joshgnosis I agree with some of the other comments. I have NBN on two properties, and its terrible in both cases. Drops out, text messages from Telstra every month about ...network updates.. blah blah. Complete joke and no wonder Govt running behind the old line CIC
