@abc730 @geoff__thompson The premise of this article is flawed. Netflix was already in popular use in Australia when the Coalition made the decision to cripple the NBN and everyone was saying at the time that streaming TV would become the dominant platform. ABC's own iView service was launched in 2008.

Yay, NBN issues. Two neighbours (with different RSPs) also having issues. Nearly 3 hours after the outage started, @NBN_Australia still don't know about it (or haven't acknowledged it in their outages listing)

@Asher_Wolf Read through it. Gosh the ABC's standards have really fallen. How are the locals going about negotiating with NBNco.? How much would it cost the town to extend the NBN to it? Surely that information would be helpful to other towns suffering the same problem?

@ama_vice Like many older vulnerable patients I am well set up at home for video consults but not one GP or Specialist has been willing/able to set one up even when asked directly. I'm in suburban Adelaide so no NBN problems beyond the normal. We need to stop stereotyping the elderly.

@nickbonyhady Not pirating, but pulled the classic DVD collection out of storage after discovering dozens of old favourites are only 'Rent or Buy' including 60 year old movies. Plus, NBN is garbage and shuts off everytime it begins to rain. Every single time.

@mgeist Note that Canada was a world leader in opening the TPIA wholesale for cable. Australia’s attempt to do wholesale on cable with NBN failed (despite having hired an ex Shaw guy who knew how it SHOULD work, but Australia didn’t use that technological solution. )

Trying to use the internet at home in Australia sometimes is seriously like you are in a third world country. It is unbelievable how bad the NBN is. And how it has been built in such a way that your ISP can't help you with any internet issues you have.

@Telstra @NBN_Australia I called you and got told it’s been cancelled but no notification sent to me. I cannot wait any longer and the appointment has to happen tomorrow morning you have no right to cancel it last min!! Not saying you pushed my appt back serval times already!! Unacceptable

@NBN_Australia @MRowlandMP @M_McCormackMP 260 hectares of land destroyed and oxygen lost; and how much power and carbon used to make all these panels too? Never zero just destroying the landscape. Nuclear is the best answer for base load power if you want to ditch coal.

@NBN_Australia You just cancelled my appointment for 11/7 that I have been waiting for a whole week. No reason and no notification why? Service provider said you cancelled automatically and can’t tell me why? Why you keep canceling my appt!!!
