Okay so not only are the NBN and power companies doing maintenance in my area on my birthday but now Optus is doing maintenance on its mobile network as well.

So today is finally the day, after three months waiting, today I get upgraded to NBN. Hello Telstra, what's that? NBNco accidentally cancelled my order and put me to the start of the process. Oh ok that's fine. Not a problem. No no happy with that. Ta ta.
