@ben @DawsonEJ @LaTrioli Yep the higher frequencies used for 5G means it has trouble penetrating walls or even obstacles like trees. For it to be used as a substitute for something like the NBN means we'd need towers on every block.

  • WatsonsTroops1 WatsonsTroops (@WatsonsTroops1) reported

@fictillius But like you said what a lot miss is that a big part of the issue is the nbn AVG and CVC costs make high speed near impossible. Was part of the nbn makeup since the Labor days.

  • btmhn GB (@btmhn) reported

Mr Albanese should shelve plans to upgrade he NBN. In many areas it delivers very poor service, slow internet rates, & constant service breakages. One company is already testing a different service in 2 regions using cable, which gives 300mbps.Only storms affect it.

  • fictillius Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@geoffrey_payne @vision_iii Margins of the providers have been eaten up by wholesale costs. It’s worse now than it was when Telstra owned the fixed line network. Telcos avoiding the NBN makes the NBN business worse and more of a loss for taxpayers

  • selga55 Chris Barrett 🐯 🇱🇻 (@selga55) reported

New Scott Morrison: "Labor has stolen our NBN policy. My government has long had plans to retrofit the network. Good on them but we'll do a better job."* 3.2.1. *parody #LiarFromTheShire

  • Eagle_Man66 Stephen Murphy (@Eagle_Man66) reported

@Sutto2606 @9_Moley @NBN_Australia 100%, I've never had a problem with NBN. Isp's are always the problem people go with cheap nasty providers thinking they're saving but in the end it always costs them

  • margokingston1 📣Margo Kingston💧🔥 (@margokingston1) reported

The Coalition Govt is a bad Govt, isn’t it. Wrecked two great Labor initiatives for the nation - NBN and a carbon price. Cost: Eye-Watering.

  • fictillius Evan (@fictillius) reported

@geoffrey_payne @vision_iii yes but the push to make 5G a home internet solution and investing in the network to make it happen has come about due to ISP’s wanting to about NBN’s horrendous wholesale costs

  • hilojo Hinton Lowe💧 (@hilojo) reported

@AlboMP Inadequacy of NBN infrastructure was revealed as a problem during the pandemic also in the vastly increased and crucial use for video *health services*. Not only people doing work and education from home.

  • olthwaite_eric Eric Olthwaite's Strayan cousin (@olthwaite_eric) reported

@DawsonEJ @emuwhisperer @LaTrioli We use 4G for our router coz the NBN option was shite I have noticed it slowing down of late.
