My home NBN connection went down sometime between 2am and 8.30am on Monday. The internet is still out, more than 24 hours later. I don’t know why or when it will be back. I live less than 10 minutes out of the Bendigo CBD.

  • KeithMacqueen Keef (@KeithMacqueen) reported from Bendigo, State of Victoria

@Hammyhamster10 @TurnbullMalcolm Having a great time with the NBN getting choked and my connection all but disappearing. All the while being told the NBN isn’t down by Telstra. Joke - and a pretty poor one at that.

  • amassedmedia Emma D'Agostino (@amassedmedia) reported from Bendigo, State of Victoria

I’ve been advised it’s possible NBN Co will cancel and rebook the technician, just to amend the address on the job. An address they were given documentation to amend at least a month ago, and which I was assured occurred.

  • coelmay Coel (@coelmay) reported from Bendigo, State of Victoria

Using an @nokia 2.3 on the @amaysimAU (@Optus) network, regularly get (much) better @Speedtest results than using same device on @NBN_Australia networks.

@EdwardJWHunter @Kynes99 Oh yeah it’s crap alright, luckily all Aussies will have access to a great NBN connection

  • DoodyDarren Darren (@DoodyDarren) reported

@bollgare @BurkeHellibee @AlboMP Bollocks. I frame it from a technology and social standpoint. I had "internet" before there even was a public internet. Dial-up. Bulletin boards and remote work (in the age of dumb terminals). The NBN brought decent internet to places that never had it.

  • dancer_ve Dancer, your Space Dad 🐝🐝🐝🐝 (@dancer_ve) reported

NBN emergency maintenance in our area seems to be over. Even the local cell towers seemed to go out during parts of it. Hope nobody needed emergency services.

  • bollgare Matt (@bollgare) reported

@DoodyDarren @BurkeHellibee @AlboMP NBN failed then. Plenty of spots on sunshine coast have no mobile network.

  • James57498470 James (@James57498470) reported

@TheAusInstitute @JoshButler Only 5x the original cost of the NBN. They're definitely appreciating the stories behind it. If anything I think they want it to become a bigger issue so they "have no choice" but to change it. They're now fuelling the debate against it themselves.

  • Sad_Mushroom Kellie Brown (@Sad_Mushroom) reported

@RyanWil62993886 @AlboMP No. NBN was never connected out this way. They stopped installing the lines halfway down the road. We still use the old broadband system where we plug the modem into the phone socket. We pay phone rental and internet fees.

  • Sad_Mushroom Kellie Brown (@Sad_Mushroom) reported

@RyanWil62993886 @AlboMP Listen Boy, NBN is not accessible here. End of story! Our only form of NBN is satellite which is too expensive. I don't know what your issue is Albo tweeted they were upgrading NBN I tweeted saying he needed to complete NBN. Stop being ignorant.

  • philbuck2 phil buck (@philbuck2) reported

@MrKRudd When the management of the NBN are on million dollar salaries and getting bonuses for doing nothing, how could it possibly be for the poor? It should be free, our taxes paid for it.

  • craig3352 Craig (@craig3352) reported

@SophiaMcGrane Maybe they can put a rocket up Telstra’s arse too…no point having high speed NBN if Telstra wind back bandwidth / limit services…my 5G mobile needs to be sitting on top of the Telstra tower to get average service these days. 😾

  • CazThomas8 CT Scamping (@CazThomas8) reported

@suren_senat @MrKRudd Don't let facts get in the way of FTTN omnishambles that has cost more and delivered a slower & more unstable NBN. The original plan was right, as the previous Lib Minister coincided by changing back to it. The lies, mistruths and farcical decade of a wasted opportunity.
