LambDownUnder (@LambDownUnder) reported@TheLucidyn @Batman2242 Kind of proving the point. Gov can't perceive anything. Making large Capex decisions that are supposed to be generational. It was anti competitive from the outset. Private companies (TPG notable) were prohibited from building out their own network. Regardless, I can have starlink internet now for about the same monthly price as the NBN except i didn't have to front the Capex (and debt) for it. NBN very likely has a negative ROI. I wish we judged policies by outcomes not intentions.

John Murdoch (@jscmurdo) reported@ausnuc_ian It was a Press release waiting for a business case that never eventuated. That's how the LNP operated. Don't get me started on the NBN catostrophe. Another example of the great economic managers.
-
KR (@keenkellie1) reported@FinancialReview Seriously just take the last two major projects snowy 2.0 and nbn you get cost blow outs, inefficiency and poor returns, instead of your retirement money compounding at 7-10% in the best companies on earth what could go wrong
-
The Immaculate Deception (@DeceptionImmac) reported@QuentinDempster Good to see you're finally admitting that the NBN was a badly thought out brain fart from day one. And the Gumbyment needed someone like Elon to demonstrate to them the proper way to provide such a service over vast distqances. Good to know.
-
Shane (@bigRD73) reported@blowingtom2 @SenSHenderson It would be as bad as NBN co if they didn't.
-
Richie_Night Owl (@richardmelb05) reportedJust got a call from @Optus the bloke told me @NBN_Australia has suffered an outage. He couldnt say how long the outage will last
-
Darren (@DoodyDarren) reported@the_vocal_one @ianclarkeAU @CovfefeDnUnder Of course it applies. I never said it didn't. How much detail would you like in a single X post? The OP is claiming the NBN is obsolete. It is nothing of the sort, and the bandwidth disparity is the entire reason why, and that isn't changing anytime soon, as you say.
-
Rolly polly (@Rolly50Hundred) reported@B_e_n_n_y @r0ck3t23 It’s already obsolete. If you have decent 5G it’s light years ahead of NBN. Most cities don’t have proper 5G though. They think they do but it’s awful pretty much everywhere except Gold Coast.
-
Marty (@Martywa467) reported@Prowerock1 @VoteLewko @Starlink I myself ended up with a Telstra 5G modem also. It just shows that NBN was not the way to go. Even back when they decided to go with NBN it was obvious it was dated technology and for Australia it has never delivered the service it needs.

iamfee (@fairies4one) reported@Batman2242 Our nbn network is a joke!
