Somehow despite an NBN installer attending, and all the Appropriate Lights being lit, the service is still "in progress" and therefore my grandparents still have no internet 2 weeks after moving.

@thatdavidhooper I am having heartburn from Optus and NBN.Having them out to repair my NBN fault for a third time in a week.Thank goodness I don’t rely on it to work from home. I would be in strife.With pretty much a duopoly on services and monopoly on network,they don’t really strive to please.

@Optus @NBN_Australia If the speed was at least getting above 50 Mbps, I’d attribute it to network congestion. However, 50 Mbps seems to be a hard limit, when I’m paying for 100 Mbps.

@NickPfitzner @NBN_Australia I have cause to believe that there's a bad batch of NCDs. In the 28/12 thunderstorm, all of them on our street were killed. This isn't a bit you can buy off the shelf. It's addressable so NBNco can control them remotely. A 2nd hand one probably wouldn't do me much good.

@albericie @Optus Australia in the late 90s and turn of the century invested heavily to outsource its call centres overseas. At the same time they moved manufacturing to China and other Asian locations. Try and support local Aussie NBN companies. There are a few good Aussie ones around

@heart_explodes I feel bad for my real estate agents. The landlord didn't get NBN organised during the build so my neighbours and I have no fixed internet. Idk about unit 1, but unit 2 and I have been asking weekly for updates. At least they have been as open as possible.
