@Asher_Wolf Depends on which of NBN Co/Elon you consider to be the lesser evil. (FTTN would probably be the 'buy once cry once' option, if Starlink shuts down unexpectedly that's that.)

  • TheMaskedUnit The Masked Unit (@TheMaskedUnit) reported

@AustinDocherty @MoarToast @Optus Yep, I had a 4G broadband account for a bit before we got the NBN about 3 years ago, and that's the only Optus service I've ever had - not a current customer 🤬

  • franksavaglio Frank Savaglio (@franksavaglio) reported

@Asher_Wolf I thought FTTN was dead. Why not FTTC? In selected areas i think where predicted NBN speeds are bad enough, Telstra (at least) offers 5G fixed wireless.

  • alexkidman Alex Kidman (@alexkidman) reported

@Asher_Wolf Which ain't to say NBN is fast (often isn't). But there's an obligation for NBN to hook you up, whereas Starlink can pick and choose (and cut and run on services). And *some* competition on prices, where Starlink is a private service.

  • DeanRosario Dean Rosario (@DeanRosario) reported

@gwynne007 @Optus If my data was stolen, ID fraud would be my biggest concern. And, based on my experiences with companies that ask for 100 point ID - banks, telco, nbn, energy company - it will definitely solve the Idenity Fraud issue.

  • iSpeakTheTruthy The Truth (@iSpeakTheTruthy) reported

@CaptObvious23 @SkyNewsAust Oh no you don't! You libtrash fkd up the nbn opting for a cheaper option causing Aus to have some of the worst internet speeds in the western world, yet still went way over budget!

  • PunarjitS Punarjit Singh (@PunarjitS) reported

@Telstra you’ve a terrible new customer experience. I ordered NBN 2 weeks ago after much hassle it’s still not active. Now I’m trying to order iPhone 14 and I cannot verify my international passport ID. Just horrible CX.

  • sometimes_data Rich Morris (@sometimes_data) reported

I cancelled my NBN service with @Telstra in August. They just sent me a bill for September. This is why I hate giving @Telstra permission to direct debit my account - can't trust 'em to do the right thing

  • maddisondesigns Anthony Hortin 🚀 (@maddisondesigns) reported

@Asher_Wolf As much as NBN is a mess, I’d pay for that over giving money to Elon for Starlink. My NBN has way more outages due to “maintenance” and general issues, than my Telstra cable ever had, but when it is working, it’s pretty stable. Highly recommend @Aussie_BB for NBN.

@toddsampsonOz Yeah thanks pal for simmering down my brain disorder to be caused by the internet. My friend has an over-active thyroid which likely also caused by the internet! And don’t get my started on Geoff- he had all his fingers until NBN was installed in his townhouse, now only 4 😞
