And 3 out of 4 premises are now capable of connecting to the NBN! Well that is at your own risk! It's just more bullshit from government and ISP companies to scam more money from anyone stupid enough to opt for this NBN CRAP!

Summary: we almost-delivered an obsolete network not fit for purpose and now we're struggling with finding a way to make it valuable as a private asset and service our debt, and raise capital to rebuild it post-2020 instead of it being made a public utility #NBN #NBN2

Why is @3AW693 targeting @Telstra about the NBN and how it’ll cope with the increased load on the network. There are other providers of the NBN out there. #sheeple listening will take any slow downs or outages as being Telstra’s fault/problem.

@Henjam48 @JaneCaro @TonyAbbottMHR @NBN_Australia They’ve been set up to fail. Like most entities that are answerable to govt. The person responsible for it all is JWH. Had Telstra not been sold in the first place, it would have continued to upgrade its network and we may not have needed an NBN on the scale the ALP envisaged.

@QuentinDempster I wouldn't use NBN if it was free. I'm a @Starlink customer and I'm more than happy with my fast, unfiltered connection. As soon as starlink starts selling cellular services I will dump Telstra like the crap that it is without hesitation.

@CasFarmerCD @NtDrifter If the Gov just made it easy for all LEO ISP's to access the ground network access equally and gave people any assistance with associated hardware costs directly, not through a NBN style company the market would sort itself out.

While Starlink provides nationwide coverage in Australia with speeds up to 270 Mbps, NBN's 2026 partnership with Amazon's Project Kuiper aims to offer a government-backed alternative for rural areas, targeting 300,000 sites with high-speed LEO service. This reduces reliance on private providers and ensures competitive options— not waste, but strategic investment.

Your VPN service will have little effect I believe. I am already finding some limitations on vpn services. I don't use my VPN for streaming services either. There are some work-arounds you can do. We will have to see what comes out in the wash. Albo wants keep the NBN in government hands. You don't have to be a genius to work out why.

@craigkellyAFEE If the starlink service can bypass the su givt firewall, then I will definitely ditch the local nbn. I hope all consumers will consider similar move too unless optus and telstra fight against this

@QuentinDempster @Hani_Iskander Nbn will be given to Telstra who will then want to improve profits so will destroy country coverage, we have been down this road before, it’s all about greed & govt is the main offender

🇦🇺 Starlink Ground Stations and the NBN Based on the available information, it appears that Starlink ground stations are not directly linked to the NBN (National Broadband Network). While some Starlink ground stations may be located near NBN infrastructure, the connection to the internet is facilitated through various backhaul methods, which may include fiber optic cables or other private networks, rather than directly through the NBN. Starlink ground stations serve as critical nodes in the Starlink network, connecting the satellite constellation to the global internet. These stations use high-speed fiber optic cables to connect to data centers, ensuring low latency and high-speed data transfer. The exact backhaul methods used by Starlink are not explicitly detailed, but it is known that Starlink operates as an independent ISP and has its own network infrastructure. In summary, while there may be some overlap in infrastructure locations, Starlink ground stations are not directly linked to the NBN. Instead, they utilize their own backhaul connections to provide internet services.

@QuentinDempster Ha ha they need spacex to launch them they wont be as many so the capacity will be lower perhaps Ok up to a certain density and cost more. It will take time so any farm that wants internet now will buy starlink and the demand for this NBN service will be dead on arrival.

@QuentinDempster The service isn't even out, and how do you know they quality of the service. Also, complaining about starlink being out for 2 hours when NBN goes out for days is funny.
