  @eevblog I have both, NBN service stability is far less than Starlink's, so it is my backup. I could probably push traffic through both, did that with Telstra and Optus cable modems back in the day, but Starlink is so fast I haven't needed to bother.

  @xShephardx Being a nerd here in Aus is like top 10 most emotionally excruciating experiences since my internet used to be 3 mb/s, which is actually a lie since my ISP throttled it down to 950kb/s. Thank **** for NBN since it's now like 62mb/s but gigabit internet would have me heavenbound.

  @Poolwithaswan @viii_nix Labor has been terrible with digital freedom. There was Stephen Conroy and the great Australian firewall during the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd. We were looking at getting a great fibre to the home NBN, that would've been utterly crippled by the government mandated filtering.

  @GamewithDave The only network connected devices I own are my Windows desktop PC, my HMD Pulse+ Android phone, my ISP-provided TP-Link router and my ISP-provided NBN FTTC NCD modem. I refuse to buy any of the "smart" crap.

  It's bad enough that I assume NBN co called my mother to offer an FTTP upgrade, which is not even possible because the address has an MDU which is not FTTP ready. Like I said, I don't think the people doing the work have any idea what they are doing. Disappointing.

  @scottjla @johannesmkx Uk hasn’t got as many isolated farms etc as Australia or US but I understand from friends there is similar higher speed internet access as Australia suffered with slow install of NBN and minimal systems Back in 2021/2 when Starlink was not providing many services in UK - govt removing authorisation would not have caused major outcry but the number of services today would cause huge outcry if authorisation were removed. Also mobile Starlink is very common now. The acceptance of authorisation is part of SPCX now and impact investors - technically I suspect uk govt can’t do anything other than order removal and whether the company has offices in uk will be relevant to service provision and funding for infringements Elon is VERY protective of children’s rights so expect him to express views on how this needs implementing. His stance against Starmer goes back to when he ed public prosecutor and didn’t protect children and girls against gangs.

  @NBN_Australia any update on service outage in Seven Hills/Norman Park in Brisbane, QLD? Your website is lagging and blaming a power outage for the issue. @Energex did their job, we had power back on within 4.5-5 hours, that was yesterday 16/06/26 Still waiting 27+ hours later…
