  The three telcos and government-owned NBN Co were left reeling when the regulator rang to notify them of its final pricing decision – a token $20m reduction to renew spectrum licences essential for carrying mobile signals. ACMA’s decision will result in the sector collectively paying peak market rates of $7.32bn to roll over their existing spectrum holdings as licences begin expiring from 2028. Much of that cost will find its way on to customer bills. More inflation incoming!

  @BanderaBeau @BikoKonstantin1 @AlboMP It doesn’t work because each government is interested in keeping power that the next government wouldn’t implement the next step. Massive changes like this can only get over the line if the solution is obvious & unanimous. Even then one single government can **** things up eg NBN

  Was there an issue with the 4G/5G network in Melbourne, Victoria today?? It seems as I got out of the CBD the network improved but within the metropolitan areas there was issues?? @Starlink at home seems to be operating fine - anyone have NBN issues?

  @michaelsnape Jenny and Matt made $5.3m in profit on the sale of their business after tax. Their business was reliant on - Roads and Transport infrastructure - Electricity infrastructure - Police and Emergency services - NBN And many other services afforded through their taxes.

  @theinfradev @ruicharadrius I'm not revising history. The plan was fttp everywhere, with Telstra and optus copper being bought out to move them to the NBN. The copper was never going to be used for the NBN. Look at the Telstra definitive agreements from 2011.

  @news_australian None stuffed NBN. Many farmers still have very little service, look at how much snowy 2 has and is continuing to cost.

  @venteaVT My house has starlink, runs at about 160 mbps at best and it’s like 3x faster than the nbn at my parents house, Australian wifi is so bad

  @AlboMP Running out of the trust now. Can you even just fix the internet? NBN outage for 3 weeks is a joke. New CGT rule is another joke

  how is my wifi out for 10 HOURS for a maintenance man 💀💀 during peak work hours too, 2pm-midnight “NBN are doing emergency network maintenance between Fri 12th June 2026 14:00 AEST and Sat 13th June 2026 00:00 AEST.”
