@Dwl19701 @JulianBurnside @Telstra Hate to defend Telstra but NBN ARE the cause of much of the current faults in the network. A government created monopoly with very little oversight, largely maintained by overseas staff. What could go wrong?

  • melkettle Mel Kettle 📖🎙🤗 (@melkettle) reported

Hi @iiNet I just had a call from a mobile number from someone purporting to be from @Telstra saying they have been monitoring my NBN internet speed & it’s slow. So they are upgrading me to fibre optic at no cost. And could I let them know my current internet speed. Is this legit?

  • YoungRobC Robert Young (@YoungRobC) reported

@NBN_Australia When I did get through I was told to call back in business hours at 11am on a Wednesday, 1pm on a Thursday. I was told I needed to employ a technician to fix the problem. Fixed it myself and moved on from Telstra.

  • YoungRobC Robert Young (@YoungRobC) reported

@JulianBurnside Indeed it is. They left my 93 yo blind and nearly deaf mother and her carer without their priority phone for 4 days after switching to nbn. Finally I had to fix the problem after getting no help from Telstra after countless hours spent on numerous call to their overseas helpline!

  • mahootna2 Real #NotTheDevil Robin :( (@mahootna2) reported

@NBN_Australia Done it all so many times. The only thing that will fix it is either, replace the rest of the copper line or a technology upgrade to FTTP. $11k is a bit steep, if ever it gets more reasonable that will be the path I take. Getting the 40 meters of copper replaced involved an MP.

  • JesseDGraham Jesse Graham (@JesseDGraham) reported

organised an nbn visit because my modem and box stopped working when I plugged them back in. Several hours later, a very nice technician gently lets me know that one of the plugs is in the wrong socket. I am never going to emotionally recover from this
