    @BeauGiles You typically use the mobile network as the backup to a wired connection. E.g. at our business the NBN was so unreliable we installed a 4g failover modem, but you need to know they exist & how to configure them. Most people don't have that level of IT know-how.

    @NBN_Australia I reported to my isp and all they can do is pass on to me the information that NBN gives them. That there’s a known issue and that a technician was sent out. But so far no estimate on when network will be restored.

    @VoteLewko @2GB873 I have Boost on my phone. Goes thru the Telstra Network. It was out. My NBN however sailed through no problems with TPG.

    @taipan168 Many corporatised, but publicly owned, entities provide great service. NBN is pretty good for example. Even Australia Post isn’t bad. Govt doesn’t have to equal bad and is much more preferable in monopoly and quasi-monopoly environments.

    @BeauGiles Typically, no. For the cost of a backup device/SIM/NBN or even Starlink, it would pay for itself in an hour of an outage like this!

    @TruthdriverOn Telstra is a dinosaur. The sooner Australia realises this, the better. The NBN has been a sad episode in Australia's history and continues to be. Snowy 2.0 is a disaster and will continue to cost Millions and may not even operate. Federal Gov. is the problem. Are you awake yet!

    Just got a call from @Optus the bloke told me @NBN_Australia has suffered an outage. He couldnt say how long the outage will last

    @SharkaByrne @newscomauHQ I paid extra to keep it at the time, so it would be accessible when nbn goes down. Or so I thought. Not sure what I paid extra for ( possibly another outlet )but it didn’t work, totally useless when it’s down. So much for progress.

    @strangerous10 We already own the NBN, so why can't emergency services be run directly by the NBN?
