@belindasmilne @pauldutton1968 @iiNet In our case, with the power out, the dish doesn't work and we have no mobile cover, but our old phone still does work. We don't have NBN in our area. We're on the road to nowhere.

@tim_dunlop @Telstra Telstra NBN package delivered 21 December, asked on ordering if tech assistance needed, responded no, told good to go; hooked up - no signal. Spent morning troubleshooting, finally rang Telstra in afternoon, told technician would connect 5 Jan. No advice otherwise. #waiting...

@WayneMansfield The apocalypse has already started. @telstra internet @NBN_Australia down, backup 4G SIM not doing its job. The good news? Router says it’s Jan 1 2018. So - this may sound weird - STOCK UP ON FACE MASKS and TOILET PAPER!! 😜😜😜

@MMareeslatter @pauldutton1968 @iiNet If the power goes out and NBN router goes down, your old phone won’t work either unless you have a battery back up. Best to have a mobile phone on standby for emergencies

@shockdesign Seriously, anyone who thinks the NBN in AU is the worst hasn't had to deal with US systems outside of the 4 or 5 areas that it's great (i.e. the tech hubs SF/LA/NY/Seattle), where it is a byzantine nightmare. Not saying NBN wasn't ****** up, just... could be so much worse.

@NBN_Australia 6:45pm home internet dropout again. Difficult to consider NBN a service worth paying this much for!

@duckpoultry Interesting to know that.. I'm still curious here how they're going to ensure service when it comes to emergency services right now as it doesn't feel like they have anything in place for when we go full NBN..

@carly_solstice Dunno- which network were you thinking of? If its the NBN you will need both...they self-audit.

@NBN_Australia That's just the theoretical solution. In reality, neither Telstra as provider nor NBN wants to take responsibility for intermittent faults and just want to waste the customer's time without resolving the service fault. NFF "no fault found" is the excuse to do nothing.
