M (@imboudee) reported@Justme136160 @robb_j_m To be fair, David is not wrong. Telcos will use the NBN infrastructure as they see fit. It’s cheaper to pay to use the NBN infrastructure that is already there than to lay down their own fibre. In fact, telcos like Optus and Telstra are already NBN providers.

Dave Jones (@eevblog) reportedNow tweeting from my lab machine again with very basic Optus 5G internet. Will have to upload video and stuff from home, but otherwise I'm kinda functional again. No idea when NBN/Telstra will restore the connection, it's been 3 days already so I assume it's very bad. Today is Sunday and tomorrow is another public holiday.

StainlessSteelMan (@Rowen72600346) reported@mark16pg It was supposed to be a cheaper alternative to batteries, turns out batteries came down in price, nbn was supposed to do the same with internet and starlink rendered it useless as well.

Idk about peak speed being any different as I've never not gotten max speed out of my fiber nbn connections (minus overheads) so about 950mbps+ at all hours of the day or night.

Weird Uncle Bob (@julerin8) reported@DavePhippen After 8 calls totalling 12 hours to NBN co and Telstra I found the magic key: Just say "Ombudsman" Service person arrived the next day and a new modem the same week.

Throwing money at rail now is like throwing money at nbn for remote Australians 10 years ago. Waste of money when starlink fixed the problem.
