I have a Vietnamese friend on a work visa who worked for a telecommunications company and now NBN. He often works from 7am to 9pm and in his first job he climbed those towers, often works weekends but never gets paid overtime!

Harrar Longberry (@HarrarLongberry) reported@BeauGiles You typically use the mobile network as the backup to a wired connection. E.g. at our business the NBN was so unreliable we installed a 4g failover modem, but you need to know they exist & how to configure them. Most people don't have that level of IT know-how.

TassieDevyl (@TasDevyl) reported@ArtistAffame That's not bad. The only option I have where I am is Fixed Wireless. Essentially 4G/5G cell tower and fixed "antenna" on the roof. NBN service via iinet (TPG). Given the distance from the tower I only get a portion of the theoretical maximum throughput. Costs more than your plan.

Michael🧙 (@mich___l) reported@VoteLewko @2GB873 Starlink is great if you're mobile, but you never want to use it to replace the nbn residential connections. The speeds and latency you get from a fttn/fttp connection are leagues better.

Garfield C. Reynolds (@GarfieldR1966) reported@NBN_Australia I reported to my isp and all they can do is pass on to me the information that NBN gives them. That there’s a known issue and that a technician was sent out. But so far no estimate on when network will be restored.

Yet it says in website its serviced by FTTN, but here we are 6+ months (3 retail providers) and still cannot get a service. They blame construction, but what happened to project planning before that :)
