@joshh_dp @daddy_no_ It also done within minutes if you already have NBN - whether it’s node, curb, hfc or fibre - a decent ISP (like AussieBB) can have your service activated within the hour. Fibre just means you can have more than one service at once

@trevorlong To be fair, they had to offer 40% additional CVC bandwidth, and streaming providers have cut the visual quality of their product to help the NBN cope. Whilst a lot of the problems with the NBN are not actually @NBN_Australia's fault, they do get a lot wrong.

@peterp79 @Aussie_BB @Telstra @NBN_Australia Also, 25 is minimum - so you should be getting 22 ish... plug a laptop INTO the modem and do a speed test. WIFI is probably what’s slowing you down too

My @NBN_Australia HFC service is down. Fault logged with my RSP (@Aussie_BB). I wonder if nbn will book "planned maintenance" again to fix the fault - it conveniently stops the "unplanned outage" timer when they do that...

The issue being that recent firmware versions are (supposedly) FTTC NBN compatible, but the original version isn't. So I had to download the firmware update to phone via 4G, & am now transfering it to laptop over Bluetooth so can then upload to the router via WiFi...

@XboxANZ @XboxP3 Playing on Samsung Note 9 via a 5g type wifi connection with an xbox controller. The graphical fidelity of this feels worse than on my Xbox One S, then add terrible stuttering and input lag. This experience is not worth bothering with on Aussie NBN, far poorer than Series X.

stupid ***** demanded we get nbn when we could have just used mobile broadband, so i had to buy a whole new modem. had to endure nbn techs stomping through our house and bedroom to fix line issues. now the greedy wankers at spintel want to jack up our plan to $50 a month.

@a_choros Spectrum isn't really a problem in the vast majority of cases, its generally only when a lot of people are choking a cell. Backhaul is the biggest issue when supplying consistent speed - but you're right that plans are moving towards the NBN standard of speed over data.

Still no internet. Turns out, ‘12-24 hours’ to be fixed actually means, 24-48 hours after the time the service provider notifies the NBN people we need to have our NBN fixed. Really hoping they work on weekends.
