-
Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, New South WalesNBN is expensive and has stupid cost constraints on performance. So people are paying more and the network can’t operate as quickly as it could because of dumb things like CVC. Yet everyone is focus on the last mile tech
-
LachlanB_ 🌏✈️🏈🏏 (@LachlanB_) reported from Sydney, New South WalesHelp needed from the tech nerds please! If I change my NBN provider due to a better deal, do I need a new modem? Are they "locked" similar to mobile phones? First NBN company included a modem as part of the deal. Can I use it if I change providers? TIA. 🙏
-
Sagittarius A* (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@ScottRhodie It’s so stupid that developers are even allowed to do this. They should be required to install the fibre and provide the hand off to NBN. Same for embedded energy networks too.
-
Sacha Fernandez (@sacharules) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@TPG_Telecom around 4:30pm my #NBN connection is not working at all! Twice this week we have lost connectivity. dg (@dgaust) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@troyhunt @home_assistant @Aussie_BB You'll probably need to turn on smart queues on your UDM Pro (I think I recall you have one of these). Otherwise the NBN policer will throw a fit on uploads and you'll get horrible upload results.
-
Tony Thefathippy (@TonyThefathippy) reported from Sydney, New South WalesHey, @NBN_Australia, your customer service is appalling. Perhaps you should contact customers *before* cancelling home visits. Don't leave it to the ISP. Rather than telling the ISP there's nothing wrong with a service that has never run properly and that we start again.../cont

NBN Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
10forTBguy 🇦🇺 (@powderkeg2024) reported@theheraldsun Musk saved rural Australia from such a slow and unreliable service! NBN fails all Australians. We should thank the uniparty for a company that will never deliver any financial return to taxpayers and has left us paying for very expensive internet by other OECD standards.
-
Spiderbloke 🇦🇺🌸 (@bluebristolian) reportedI told people when the Krudd had his NBN brain fart that it would be a colossal waste of money and that the future was wireless, and people told me I was being stupid. I remember the French government and their massive white elephant the Minitel system. Same government stupidity, every single time.
-
Johnnymoo1969 (@johnnymoo1969) reported@NBN_Australia how bad is the NBN !!! - took annual leave today and no bastard turned up - FU NBN - you’re another govt disgrace - they couldn’t give a **** about the customer or their time - another @ausgov disaster - we are a third world country
-
Pete Rule (@PeterRule841618) reported@TopherField Having previously worked for both Telstra and NBN, I can say NBN satellite and wireless are complete garbage, Starlink smashes it. NBN fibre is excellent though and speeds are world comparable. Still, many Aussies pick the cheapest slow plans which reduces our world rankings
-
durackpl (@durackpl) reported@ChrisEconomist 2/2 The true scale of the off-budget disaster will only be clear when someone aggregates the retained losses across all these investments, as companies do in their financial statements. I've never seen this done, but if the NBN is any guide, the total would be staggering.
-
Nick Hendrix (@hendrix_uk) reported@bazzacc2 Including Malcolm Turnbull who changed the specs of the @NBN_Australia from FTTP to FTTN, thus relying on old copper to transmit from the node to the dwelling It slowed down our broadband speeds significantly to save a few dollars How many billions have we lost in productivity?
-
Brent Hodgson (@BrentHodgson) reported@geofiasco @DHughesy @aaronsmith Aside: Whether the Telstra sale was ultimately a windfall is contested. It raised $60bn to sell the assets, then we spent $60bn on NBN Co just to regain access to the assets sold and duplicate/upgrade the network we sold - and Telstra has paid something like $80-85bn in shareholder dividends along the way. In many respects, NBN shouldn't exist. It should have been the $80-85bn in "shareholder dividends" to the Public Owner that paid for the fibres to be laid - not a $60bn investment after a $60bn sale. But NBN was forced to be created after a now-shareholder-owned Telstra responded to how it might build a national broadband network with a non-compliant 12 page letter effectively saying "we won't - the copper wires are our privately-owned monopoly and we want to protect our market monopoly".
-
Amicus Curiae (@AmicusCuri99068) reportedOR they could say? Starlink is the same OR cheaper and gives better service! while our sat service costs a LOT for lousy speeds and is ****** if? it works at all Elon Musk cashes in on Australia’s NBN fail Bush families are being forced to pay the world’s richest man for basic phone coverage, as Australia’s bungled NBN rollout leaves dangerous black spots across the regions. Paywalled Tiset

Kribby 🦊🔥 Soulfire Kitsune (@KribbyVT) reportedWhen my internet stops conking out I will be UNSTOPPABLE… but until then I sit in the corner and sob 🥺 nbn please fix it
-
Mitchell Costin (@mitchell_costin) reportedWho else is experiencing **** internet speeds after 7pm? By 10 pm it's almost impossible to get pages to load up and and have a smooth social media experience. Bloody diabolical. I'm on the verge of ditching the NBN and going Starlink. 😠😠
