@Optus @nbn down in Turramurra. 4G working. Been out for over 1 hour. No message from @optus to customers. Work from here with international clients and rely on consistent internet access. Almost like a third world country. We have to do better. Imagine the productivity losses!

  • JohnLutge
John Lutge (@JohnLutge) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

The technician came and my internet is still broken. There is an open fault ticket for the @nbn network team to fix the network tap in the pit at the front of the house. According to @Telstra, there is no ETA on the fix.

  • cbiggins
Christian two jab 💉💉 (@cbiggins) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

Haha @optus tech asking if we can use our backup 4g because they deleted our NBN service. Nope. No Optus mobile coverage here. It's like a bad dream.

@Telstra if my NBN is down why isn’t my 4g backup working? Have re booted, blue lights on??

@NBN_Australia @BelongAU any update to when the outage will be resolved in Waverley? Would be nice to have service to be able to do my job.

  • fridley
James Fridley (@fridley) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

@Telstra still as useless as ever. Been trying to connect to the NBN since 2019 in a Sydney CBD office, and they cancel any new NBN order without even bothering to contact us.... O_o

  • Boatyboy1
Boatyboy (@Boatyboy1) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

@DoctorKarl So sad that NBN is a fail completely system, rather than a Failsafe system.

@NBN_Australia Hi there. Can you advise how I connect free to air tv via nbn FTTP? I've been told that my property falls under the NBNCo network and as such free to air television needs to be connected via NBN fibre. Please advise

  • SeriousBec
Serious Bec (@SeriousBec) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

Waiting for our NBN outage to be fixed …seems they can’t find a technician that isn’t off isolating with COVID ..so now we could still die from COVID & looking likely may die of starvation to now poss dying of Bordem! ..you fckn ******** #Domicron

  • GabertPhilippe
Philippe (@GabertPhilippe) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

@markhumphries TBH, although I think they delivered a terrible service for the install. at my house, I was happy to only pay $300 for the « actual » connection of my house. (work on the street, weatherproof boxes on the house, etc.). The overall process must have cost NBN more than $300.

  • leebailey11
Lee Bailey (@leebailey11) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

@Optus my NBN has been showing a reduced service for almost 24 hours and is still listed as ‘under investigation’. Any chance someone will get the investigation done soon. With downloads of 3.14mbps and uploads at 0.44mbps I can’t do anything currently

  • prleeds
Phillip Leeds. @PhillipLeeds@aus.social (@prleeds) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

Good service from Telstra. Lightning strike fried our NBN box on Saturday afternoon, called Telstra who booked a technician to replace it this morning. He’s just been, all sorted.

  • chriswilliamsnz

NBN is down in Paddo and it’s like going back to candles 🕯

  • jrbrown48_brown
Raymond Brown (@jrbrown48_brown) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

@NBN_Australia I have taken this up with Telstra on 3 occasions. It's the old Foxtel cable. It apparently needs an upgrade. Not prepared to help

  • AlpaB_
Alpa (@AlpaB_) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

@VodafoneAU how much longer is the NBN outage in Bondi going to go on for? It’s been out since around 3pm!!!

  • onebg
Glenn Sargood (@onebg) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

I must say whilst I am very frustrated with my NBN problems with @Telstra I am very happy with the Twitter support. I am hoping the local upgrades fix the issue very soon #veryslow #frustrating

  • AaronCheater
Aaron Cheater (@AaronCheater) reported from Sydney, New South Wales

Ever since I switched to @DodoAustralia NBN watching @Twitch has been really laggy with lots of buffering, even when not doing anything else online. Didn’t have that issue when we were with @superloopau

NBN Issues Reports

  • Duckimusprime
    Tom Baker (@Duckimusprime) reported

@Poolwithaswan @viii_nix Labor has been terrible with digital freedom. There was Stephen Conroy and the great Australian firewall during the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd. We were looking at getting a great fibre to the home NBN, that would've been utterly crippled by the government mandated filtering.

  • rakeau
    Rakeau (@rakeau) reported

@alexjohnward @ianclarkeAU Separate discussion. The comment targeted NBN specifically. It’s wrong to say that NBN = Bad. It’s not that simple.

  • ianclarkeAU
    Ian Clarke (@ianclarkeAU) reported

@RobertW51136192 @Slav636 The cross subsidy is exactly the point. NBN was never the right solution for outer suburbs.

  • brusamiok
    Bruno (@brusamiok) reported

@VoteLewko @Starlink If Australia’s state-owned NBN Sky Muster satellite network becomes completely obsolete compared to Starlink, the entire country becomes dependent on the decisions of a private, foreign corporation.

  • Bailey92035278
    X- Y Bailey 🇦🇺🇳🇿 🇨🇦🇩🇪🇮🇹 (@Bailey92035278) reported

@EdSaint61 After channel nine just cut NBN news channel 9 don’t deserve any right to NRL rights I hope channel 7 gets it and Foxtel stays too **** channel 9

  • ruhejanaa
    Rayyan Ahmed (@ruhejanaa) reported

@Teh_Jkr @Optus @Optus I have 5 services with Optus and have been a customer for 12 years. My NBN internet has been really poor, yet I’m charged full price with no real offer. As soon as I get time from my busy life, I’ll be switching all my services.

  • ianclarkeAU
    Ian Clarke (@ianclarkeAU) reported

@the_vocal_one @CovfefeDnUnder You’re missing the point. Wired networks pre NBN worked just fine, and still do. Every new NBN suburban / bush connection loses money. Every new Starlink customer is profitable, so it can strip away customers and NBN will slowly die. PS : I’ve been on 5G for years : 4x speed

  • ianclarkeAU
    Ian Clarke (@ianclarkeAU) reported

@DoodyDarren @CovfefeDnUnder Can NBN do this? No, and it never will. Of course wired networks, such as aarpnet are way better for some applications. The fallacy is that NBN is about technology, when it’s about a cross subsidy.

  • Prowerock1
    peter rowe (@Prowerock1) reported

@Martywa467 @VoteLewko @Starlink NBN faults are dealt with via the telcos. After four cancelled appointments by NBN after Telstra said it was an NBN issue ( it was), I bought a Telstra 5G router and threw out the NBN box. I would prefer Starlink but it has a congestion charge in our area of $700.

  • LibertariansNSW
Libertarian Party NSW (Liberal Democrats) (@LibertariansNSW) reported

The Libertarian Party believes in reducing government involvement in the economy. We would Reduce ATO staff by at least half over 5 years because flat tax rates will require less compliance staff, and it is essential to reduce the possibility of the tax system regrowing; similarly, scale back agencies such as the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and Australian Competition and Consumer Commissioner and the laws they administer; and sell government business enterprises, including the NBN, ABC, SBS, and the Future Fund, and use the proceeds to pay down debt. By removing bureaucrats and simplifying tax, we will have a more prosperous country. #smallgovernment #libertarian
