Marty K (@_marty_k) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@Aussie_BB I’ll have to call in later, but you definitely have the updated email as I’ve been getting invoices there for many months now. Is there a separate system that sends out the NBN outage notification that doesn’t just use current email on file?
-
no name (@AmandaNonBinz) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@ryan_racz @Stephen___Burns @SpaceX NBN compared to global partners, is already slow and out of date lol
-
John Lutge (@JohnLutge) reported from Sydney, New South WalesHi @Telstra. My internet has been down for 3 weeks. The @NBN tech was a no show for the first appointment. Just had an SMS scheduling another appt for tomorrow. The @Telstra faults operater in Australia just hung up on me. If I ran my med practice that way, I would be in jail.
-
OnlyPhazz (@phazzles) reported from Sydney, New South WalesEveryday I get an email about an emergency nbn outage
-
Julien Goodwin (@LapTop006) reported from Sydney, New South Wales*sigh* Yay first tier ISP support, more interested that they don't know my date of birth (for obvious BS "security" reasons. Supposedly escalated to NBN, which doesn't actually seem like the correct next step, but oh well.
-
Boatyboy (@Boatyboy1) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@DoctorKarl So sad that NBN is a fail completely system, rather than a Failsafe system.
-
-
James Fridley (@fridley) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@Telstra still as useless as ever. Been trying to connect to the NBN since 2019 in a Sydney CBD office, and they cancel any new NBN order without even bothering to contact us.... O_o
-
Mark Bilton (@MarkBilton) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@Optus @nbn down in Turramurra. 4G working. Been out for over 1 hour. No message from @optus to customers. Work from here with international clients and rely on consistent internet access. Almost like a third world country. We have to do better. Imagine the productivity losses!
-
🇦🇺mikeaubrey🏳️🌈 (@mikeaubrey2) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@isaacfloyd13 @PaulFletcherMP So another $480m spend on NBN.....an NB that they fkcd.....double what they said spend, 2years late & we are now 22 down the list WW....A total FU......overpriced, underspeed & full of spin
-
Phillip Leeds. @PhillipLeeds@aus.social (@prleeds) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@R_Chirgwin That would as bad as a keynote address by Malcolm Turnbull on how he fixed the NBN.
-
Bazzio101 (@Bazzio101) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@DianneCostin NBN had been down 3 hours here. #LNP 101
-
Thomas Rice (@thomasrice_au) reported from Sydney, New South WalesVery few errors, and they were mainly names or technical terms. For example, "The R proof for off net MBN services" should be "The ARPU for off-net NBN services" "Mark Marie Derrmann" should be "Mart-Marie Derman" Seems plausible to easily transcribe everything with this.
-
Kate (@KateWarren82) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@NBN_Australia @iiNet do you think the #darlingpoint planned outage for 11 hours tomorrow is really fair, given we have an unplanned power outage now in this area. NBN has been out since after 1pm.
-
Jarrod Gardiner (@Jarrod_Gardiner) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@VodafoneAU Is there an outage with NBN in Prairiewood 2176? NBN has not worked all day
-
Bruce Hopkins (@lifeguardhoppo) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@marklevy2gb @NBN_Australia @BelongAU I have had the same problem

Alex Dennis🏳️🌈🇦🇺 (@miracleboi) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@optus my mum's NBN FTTC white NBN box will not get any data thru the line. Have been trying all day to get thru to technical support and that line has been "closed" all day and message is hasn't been helpful. She also has a falls monitor which should be connected but it's not
-
yvonnewallbank (@yvonnewallbank) reported from Sydney, New South WalesWow, NBN guys went to the pit to fix a non-existent problem and we have been down since! Amazing work from the most inefficient company I know. Old saying: if it ain't broke don't fix it!
-
Robert Barnes CAE 🇵🇬🇦🇺 (@robertmbarnes) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@Optus still no nbn connection in Jannali. How many times you expect us to turn off and on the modem?! I’ll have 2/30 days worth of my monthly fee back thanks. Can’t work when you can’t provide the service. I’m done with you. #finalstraw
-
roman tarnavski (@romant) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@ClaudeMandy @TimLonghurst @NBN_Australia we don’t need to go far to see a sensible separation of infrastructure and service provision - just across the ditch in NZ they’ve managed to preserve competition whilst investing in their country’s future
NBN Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Evans Electric (@tsport100) reportedA guy moved into a new apartment. Only “official” internet was FTTN NBN — $90/month for a pathetic 30 Mbps down max. He called Telstra and Optus. Both said “5G Fixed Wireless not available at your address.” He checked a cell tower map anyway. Half a dozen towers within a couple km. Bought a GL.iNet GL-X3000NR 5G router + built a DIY 4x4 MIMO LPDA external antenna. Result? 800 Mbps download / 170 Mbps upload. 25x faster. $75/month. Same building. Here’s exactly how he did it 🧵
-
Ian Clarke (@ianclarkeAU) reported@RobertW51136192 @Slav636 The cross subsidy is exactly the point. NBN was never the right solution for outer suburbs.
-
Andrea (@1963amh) reported@SharkaByrne @newscomauHQ I paid extra to keep it at the time, so it would be accessible when nbn goes down. Or so I thought. Not sure what I paid extra for ( possibly another outlet )but it didn’t work, totally useless when it’s down. So much for progress.
-
KR (@keenkellie1) reported@FinancialReview Seriously just take the last two major projects snowy 2.0 and nbn you get cost blow outs, inefficiency and poor returns, instead of your retirement money compounding at 7-10% in the best companies on earth what could go wrong
-
Courty (@turocmit) reported@Starlink New ticket Subject: URGENT – Unauthorised NBN destruction by queue-jumping installer Write: “Installer jumped other jobs, took extra cash, destroyed my NBN infrastructure instead of installing Starlink properly and connecting devices. On top plan. Demand immediate fix, replacement hardware if needed, and investigation.” Not r e a l l y what I expected 2 bill periods in. One mobile phone connected. Arguing with grok about what’s possible and what isn’t.
-
Nonny (@nonnygb) reported@Jenbox360 Nah that's not torture... I've finally convinced my ISP & NBN here there's an issue with my fibre connection with 40+ dropouts a day. It's taken them a month & 4 callouts to finally accept it's not my hardware or within my property. I was losing my mind.
-
Hobbie (@Hobbie4C) reported@VoteLewko @Starlink Govt/Telcos/NBN spent billuons of taxpayer dollars to build a rubbish service. Starlink does way better at zero taxpayer expense. So government response to this is to spend more dollars on their unworkable rubbish. I can't think of a better argument why big government needs to go

WhatYouThinkIThink 🇦🇺♥️🇺🇦 🔴🟡⚫️ 🇮🇱🇵🇸 (@WhatYouThinkIT1) reported@ArtistAffame If you don't have a wifi router then you will. The 5G is the mobile network, you connect to the internet via that or via NBN. Usually then it connects to a wifi router.
-
rose saltman (@Napoleonspiano) reported@NBN_Australia @therealjme5h Yes, but how long will I be without service? 3 hours and counting.
-
daytona (@daytona7th) reported@tim_blee You would think that if you relied on the mobile network to receive payments then you would have a backup should the particular network fail. Maybe have an Optus or Vodafone SIM card handy or re-route your payment system to the NBN? No sympathy for unprepared businesses.
