NBN Issues Reports Near Sydney, State of New South Wales

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Sydney and nearby locations:

  • thomasrice_au Thomas Rice (@thomasrice_au) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Very few errors, and they were mainly names or technical terms. For example, "The R proof for off net MBN services" should be "The ARPU for off-net NBN services" "Mark Marie Derrmann" should be "Mart-Marie Derman" Seems plausible to easily transcribe everything with this.

  • phazzles OnlyPhazz (@phazzles) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    NBN is down again

  • EskayPtbp Eskay (@EskayPtbp) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

  • miracleboi Alex Dennis🏳️‍🌈🇦🇺 (@miracleboi) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@optus my mum's NBN FTTC white NBN box will not get any data thru the line. Have been trying all day to get thru to technical support and that line has been "closed" all day and message is hasn't been helpful. She also has a falls monitor which should be connected but it's not

  • LachlanB_ LachlanB_ 🌏✈️🏈🏏 (@LachlanB_) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Lachlan_Mc That's my issue. Signed up to NBN contract when it (finally) arrived in my area, but now 5G is available it's actually way faster than my broadband. 🙄 Not sure how or who offers a big enough data package to allow streaming on the 5G mobile network. 🤷

  • phazzles OnlyPhazz (@phazzles) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    Another day, another nbn outage

  • Steph_Simmons89 Steph the sarcastic sequin (@Steph_Simmons89) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

My mum broke her femur on Wed, and my brother is a non board member of the NBN. These 2 pieces of info are important because today dad -annoyed the NBN is down at home- said to my brother, “it’s a good thing our healthcare system works better than our internet” and wow savage 💀

  • skylxrksays SKYLXRK | @liammarsters@aus.social (@skylxrksays) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

A circuit breaker got tripped that killed everything but the lights and I’ve never been happier to have my critical network infrastructure running on the light circuit, no fighting with NBN handshaking for this guy at 11:30pm 😌

  • dgaust dg (@dgaust) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@troyhunt @home_assistant @Aussie_BB You'll probably need to turn on smart queues on your UDM Pro (I think I recall you have one of these). Otherwise the NBN policer will throw a fit on uploads and you'll get horrible upload results.

  • GrantOFarrell Grant O'Farrell (@GrantOFarrell) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@marklevy2gb @NBN_Australia @BelongAU What’s the hourly rate mark?? Surely there’s someone at 2GB who would look after the big dogs issues??

  • FlyOpineMonkey Sir Darryl Adams (@FlyOpineMonkey) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Some tweet content not showing up (don't know if it is my NBN or part of the Muskageddon). Good news the advertising is showing up. And here we thought the horrid edgelord hated advertising...

  • TommyTudehope Tommy Tudehope (@TommyTudehope) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@AGLEnergy hi there. I recently ordered an internet package along with our gas. The delivery only included the @geteero device and not the required NBN black box for HFC connection. Can you help resolve for us?

  • leebailey11 Lee Bailey (@leebailey11) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@Optus my NBN has been showing a reduced service for almost 24 hours and is still listed as ‘under investigation’. Any chance someone will get the investigation done soon. With downloads of 3.14mbps and uploads at 0.44mbps I can’t do anything currently

  • LachlanB_ LachlanB_ 🌏✈️🏈🏏 (@LachlanB_) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

Help needed from the tech nerds please! If I change my NBN provider due to a better deal, do I need a new modem? Are they "locked" similar to mobile phones? First NBN company included a modem as part of the deal. Can I use it if I change providers? TIA. 🙏

  • lifeguardhoppo Bruce Hopkins (@lifeguardhoppo) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

    @marklevy2gb @NBN_Australia @BelongAU I have had the same problem

  • JPMasters JPMasters (He/Him/They/Them) (@JPMasters) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

@lesstenny @RNBreakfast I wasn’t listening this morning, but my thoughts are, rain - our infrastructure never considered there would be rain, mobile coverage infrastructure not keeping up with demand (I am 13km from Sydney GPO on a high point - hopeless with both Telstra and Optus), and NBN no doubt.

  • dhawaldamania Dhawal Damania (@dhawaldamania) reported from Sydney, State of New South Wales

like every day, since the shop refresh an hour ago, i can’t get a match to start. every time players are found, then says connecting to server & then connection timed out. this will go on for several hours like normal. fix pls @FallGuysGame. i’m running 90mbs NBN wired broadband!

  • royfrancisbrown Roy Brown (@royfrancisbrown) reported

@NBN_Australia Assume you mean the outdoor box underneath the tiles/ tin in the ceiling cavity? If so, you have changed the signal strength and interference the unit will receive from the wireless tower. If you mean the inside box, it means the tech has to move into an unsafe space to adjust it

  • ChoomdexxieB Blake Anderson (@ChoomdexxieB) reported

@Lysis21810865 @NBN_Australia Wifi dropping in the rain is purely down to the Terrible quality base model modems ISP’s provide, do yourself a favour and buy a mid range router from office works and you’ll be laughing

  • DNAslayer Irish (@DNAslayer) reported

@AlboMP Please explain how the ceos of nbn and Australia post got their pay rises when they both offer a useless service. Know I know why austpost put up the prices of postage. This stinks of ahmed fahour all over again. No cash splash in the budget, will you be taking your salary rise?

  • visivoz 💧 Vonnie V (@visivoz) reported

@75merc @ConnollyStuart Australia dudded by the incoming LNP Govt which trashed the fledgling NBN rollout, switching to a ‘cheaper’, less efficient network. ‘Do it once, do it with fibre’ advice ignored. Ongoing costly upgrades. Slow speeds, affordability issues.

  • Jamie26559164 Jamie (@Jamie26559164) reported

@NBN_Australia And yet compared to other markets around the world gigabit means both up and down and they are offering it to their users for the same price or lower as what the Australian people are paying for a 50/20 connection

  • NickPfitzner Pfitzy (@NickPfitzner) reported

Anyone out there use Aussie Broadband? I see good things written about them. Also have never churned an #NBN provider. What is the downtime like?

  • vincent_wales Vincent Wales (@vincent_wales) reported

@RonShamgar Business has significant commodity type characteristics IMO (eg NBN and generic services) possibly means revenue driven/ support by necessary ongoing high spend advertising and M&A activity. Difficult to see what sustainable ROIC is until steady state resumes. Do you have view?
