Grant O'Farrell (@GrantOFarrell) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@marklevy2gb @NBN_Australia @BelongAU What’s the hourly rate mark?? Surely there’s someone at 2GB who would look after the big dogs issues??

-
JPMasters (He/Him/They/Them) (@JPMasters) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@lesstenny @RNBreakfast I wasn’t listening this morning, but my thoughts are, rain - our infrastructure never considered there would be rain, mobile coverage infrastructure not keeping up with demand (I am 13km from Sydney GPO on a high point - hopeless with both Telstra and Optus), and NBN no doubt.
-
Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@geoffrey_payne @vision_iii Margins of the providers have been eaten up by wholesale costs. It’s worse now than it was when Telstra owned the fixed line network. Telcos avoiding the NBN makes the NBN business worse and more of a loss for taxpayers

Maureen ✳️✳️ (@fromthewonni) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@PaulFletcherMP I have NBN I live about 30ks from the city of Sydney My modem since the day it was installed tells me there’s no signal I was unable to work from home during the lockdown because the Internet dropped in and out all day making work impossible to complete efficiently or effectively
-
Ali (@alipage6) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@NBN_Australia @BelongAU any update to when the outage will be resolved in Waverley? Would be nice to have service to be able to do my job.
-
roman tarnavski (@romant) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@ClaudeMandy @TimLonghurst @NBN_Australia we don’t need to go far to see a sensible separation of infrastructure and service provision - just across the ditch in NZ they’ve managed to preserve competition whilst investing in their country’s future
-
Philippe (@GabertPhilippe) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@markhumphries TBH, although I think they delivered a terrible service for the install. at my house, I was happy to only pay $300 for the « actual » connection of my house. (work on the street, weatherproof boxes on the house, etc.). The overall process must have cost NBN more than $300.

Sir Darryl Adams (@FlyOpineMonkey) reported from Sydney, New South WalesSome tweet content not showing up (don't know if it is my NBN or part of the Muskageddon). Good news the advertising is showing up. And here we thought the horrid edgelord hated advertising...
-
Sacha Fernandez (@sacharules) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@TPG_Telecom around 4:30pm my #NBN connection is not working at all! Twice this week we have lost connectivity. New year same issues of downtime….no fix today today and it’s a new provider on monday not good enough especially now that we’re predominantly wfh
-
Peter Bell (@PeterBell7) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@JJKALE2 I love PK .. reflects how tired we are of comparing our **** show with another country This cruddy government NEVER compares us to OECD when languishing at the bottom social reforms, pensions NBN etc
-
Evan (@fictillius) reported from Sydney, New South WalesNBN is expensive and has stupid cost constraints on performance. So people are paying more and the network can’t operate as quickly as it could because of dumb things like CVC. Yet everyone is focus on the last mile tech
-
BDubAus (@bwrigley) reported from Sydney, New South WalesHey Telstra, what’s going on with the NBN services in Sydney Inner west? It’s been down for quite some time?? @Telstra #NBN

yvonnewallbank (@yvonnewallbank) reported from Sydney, New South WalesWow, NBN guys went to the pit to fix a non-existent problem and we have been down since! Amazing work from the most inefficient company I know. Old saying: if it ain't broke don't fix it!
-
Josh Maddison (@eljosho1102) reported from Sydney, New South Wales@PipThomas @PressStartAU Similar thoughts from me, I’m impressed with how well it does run on my 10 MB/sec FTTC NBN connection and given it is a beta service I can definitely agree the input lag is something that will need to be accepted for now until it is tweaked a bit to run better on the NBN
-
Amanda Hogan (@hogesonline) reported from Sydney, New South WalesFrom @Optus : NBN will be down all day Thursday. You'll be cool hotspotting from your phone right? #remotelearning
-
Glenn Sargood (@onebg) reported from Sydney, New South WalesI must say whilst I am very frustrated with my NBN problems with @Telstra I am very happy with the Twitter support. I am hoping the local upgrades fix the issue very soon #veryslow #frustrating
NBN Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Richard Neal (@Wombat_Ric) reported@r0ck3t23 It wont effect providers as much as you think. We have the NBN in Australia and all that happened is everyone became resellers or add on service providers. The telco's wont disappear, they just wont have to pay for infrastructure anymore and become SpaceX resellers.
-
AJganetti #WWG1WGA (@AJganetti) reportedI HAVE NBN 500 DOWN 50 UP FOR $80 A MONTH
-
VersionNaught (@nathan_knows) reported@strangerous10 A lot of people forget the NBN was in part to shift the fixed broadband service monopoly from Telstra.
-
David Havyatt (@havyatt) reported@RizviAbul Do people in remote cattle stations get assistance? Did anyone see the tv show Keeping Up with the Jones’s. The big remote stations are big businesses. But yes we support them with flying doctor,, school of the air, satellite NBN. 1/2
-
A guy down under (@Fremean) reported@AngusTaylorMP **** no you guys are just another flavour of Labor. I haven't forgiven you for ******* the NBN or introducing the ekaren position the labour is now using to force censorship and probably digital ID
-
Kevin Metcalfe (@KevinMe49077436) reported@AlanBixter Why, we spent a fortune on the NBN, just go to the countries news service and watch it there.
-
Dane Trethowan (@grtdane) reported@TimLooker @ABCaustralia I knew our communications system was down the tube with no stopping it when NBN bought the Copper Wire Network from Telstra and start decommissioning it, we should have had our Copper Network (which served us well) continue to do so along side Fibre etc.
-
Harry Harrop (@harry_harrop) reportedMay be a possible delay tonight due to emergency nbn maintenance 😭 fingers crossed 🤞🏻
-
Brent Hodgson (@BrentHodgson) reported@geofiasco @DHughesy @aaronsmith Aside: Whether the Telstra sale was ultimately a windfall is contested. It raised $60bn to sell the assets, then we spent $60bn on NBN Co just to regain access to the assets sold and duplicate/upgrade the network we sold - and Telstra has paid something like $80-85bn in shareholder dividends along the way. In many respects, NBN shouldn't exist. It should have been the $80-85bn in "shareholder dividends" to the Public Owner that paid for the fibres to be laid - not a $60bn investment after a $60bn sale. But NBN was forced to be created after a now-shareholder-owned Telstra responded to how it might build a national broadband network with a non-compliant 12 page letter effectively saying "we won't - the copper wires are our privately-owned monopoly and we want to protect our market monopoly".
-
durackpl (@durackpl) reported@ChrisEconomist 2/2 The true scale of the off-budget disaster will only be clear when someone aggregates the retained losses across all these investments, as companies do in their financial statements. I've never seen this done, but if the NBN is any guide, the total would be staggering.
