@DaisyCousens @clementine_ford I’m using it too but not earning enough to give up my day job ... yet! Most people want access to contest but don’t want to support me as a writer, because they expect everything on the Internet for free. They don’t realise writers have bills to pay, including @NBN_Australia!

  • SupraId supra id (@SupraId) reported from Tamworth, State of New South Wales

I’ve forgotten what working without cabled NBN is like. With everything in the cloud and software as a service this is a nightmare. #auspol

NBN Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • travisaholland Travis Holland (@travisaholland) reported

nbn and Telstra both wrote to say that we can now get optional fibre to the premises. I figured it'd be a huge cost jump but our speed is crap so worth a look and it's only $15 more per month with no install fee? Seems cheap. (Or we were getting majorly ripped off already)

  • imboudee M (@imboudee) reported

@DoctorKarl Because you remember that time when Abbott said the NBN would “turn out to be a white elephant” and that 25Mbps would be more than enough for the average household. So here we are, 2023, and we get what was voted for - 2 cups and a string solution. FML.

  • BrowntownBrew Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported

@wazdev @DoctorKarl 5% were going to be on fixed wireless or satellite. Nbn determined they could do 95% of the premises with fttp. Remember whilst gov funded bulk of install, the revenue is funding the rest. That's why NBN want to go all fibre as that's the only profitable part of the network

  • shittydan Dean Curling (@shittydan) reported

@peter_tulip Before the NBN, Telstra had the monopoly Aus wide, look how that turned out, was a **** show. NBN is not great atm, but it'd be so much worse if it got privatised.

  • asherspira Asher Reborn (@asherspira) reported

@mikejanda @peter_tulip The NBN was created when the 'competitive market' couldn't deliver adequate service. A natural monopoly may have been the cause and the against public interest. I would say that the same phenomenon would still be present, so I'd be guessing 'yes'.

  • JamesRendell17 James Rendell (@JamesRendell17) reported

I think someone needs to send the police round to Malcom Turnbull's office and arrest him. He needs 2 go 2 jail for life 4 the fraud that is the @nbn! Since 2015 all one gets from @telstra is drop outs and a phone complaint line that wastes time! Why do we pay for shitholes?

  • BinaryPoint Charmed Quirk (@BinaryPoint) reported

@Sokaris84 @DoctorKarl Because the packaging our providers get from NBNCo was designed by people who explicitly want NBN to fail.

  • vFNQer KC (@vFNQer) reported

@DoctorKarl we could do cost-benefit analysis of our NBN rollout - what did the maj parties promise & what did they deliver, at what cost. NBN is no longer an issue of moral panic for the mass media.

  • spikey_cat Spikey_cat 🔜 FURDU (@spikey_cat) reported

@PuppoBandit Odd they are usually okay, I'd probs bet they havent just bothered to push the issue over to nbn or offer you their 5g solution

  • j_jexxa Jexxa (@j_jexxa) reported

@DoctorKarl I did like Turnbull as PM however this was the one big ****-up he made with the NBN when that was in his portfolio. He opted for an over-copper solution as it was the quick & cheap option. Now we have to redeploy fibre if we are going to get up to any decent level.
