    @DaisyCousens @clementine_ford I’m using it too but not earning enough to give up my day job ... yet! Most people want access to contest but don’t want to support me as a writer, because they expect everything on the Internet for free. They don’t realise writers have bills to pay, including @NBN_Australia!

    @AlanBixter I’m not a hater but I can’t decide if I hate Medibank Private or Telstra / NBN more? Telstra / NBN sent 15 techies to fix our Internet problem & many phone calls all while our kids doing Uni exams & 1 wtg for cardiac surgery. Stress ++ Good luck Alan coz you’ll need it 🙏

    Unfortunately @6NewsAU won’t have live by-election coverage tonight (NBN issue) but this is a great thread for Farrer We will have reporting later in the night once results have been reported!

    NBN Update: "Cable works are progressing. The fibre cable was installed between the two manholes early this morning and the site has been made safe. Due to traffic control requirements, work has temporarily paused and will recommence under day Road Occupancy Licences between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Cable preparation works began earlier at 3:30am, with splicing scheduled to commence this afternoon. Customer restoration is expected to be completed later today. NBN will continue to monitor progress and provide further updates as they become available."

    @TFyrd49376 @TobiSkovron Labor introduced the NDIS, LNP messed with it. Like a long list of things introduced by Labor, the LNP screws with it and we are forced to endure the **** show that follows. NBN? LNP screwed it so hard it cost 3x as much for inferior infrastructure.

    @xShephardx Being a nerd here in Aus is like top 10 most emotionally excruciating experiences since my internet used to be 3 mb/s, which is actually a lie since my ISP throttled it down to 950kb/s. Thank **** for NBN since it's now like 62mb/s but gigabit internet would have me heavenbound.

    @Ben_Davison1 Government provides education? Why then are kids paying $40k for an arts degree?. If NBN was a government service rather than a business its expense would be in the budget

    @robb_j_m Starlink. Prior to that we had a satellite connection through the NBN in our rural area which was a bit of a nightmare. They brought in this 'fair use' clause that if you went over a certain amount, you'd get suspended, but it was never terribly clear if you were approaching your limit. It was a rolling limit. I don't know if they still have it. Probably. And then our plan, the larger one, was removed and we were put on some weird sort of plan that gave us no real allocation where we couldn't even watch youtube. Really shabby way to treat customers. Starlink is reliable, has good speeds and no limits on usage, and we never get throttled. It's about $135 a month, but we're happy to pay. We'd never go back to NBN.

    The Labor Budget 🙄 So far all I see is nothing to help or support now, $250 in 2028. Ffs everyone has been left behind. We're spending more than that additionaly on groceries, fuel , insurances, nbn, etc etc. Where's the relief.
