@BenPugsley We have relatively regular power outages. And I have to reset each time. There is a modem and a router. Power both down totally and wait a minute and start up in the correct order. NBN modem first - let it fully start, then the router. If you’ve already done that - sorry

@Aussie_BB another outage! What a joke. You have planned outages and now unplanned. Clearly something isn’t right with your service and you should be open about the problem. Fault on the app says is Aussie BB not NBN, but please explain.

Have you had trouble with NBN service? Dodo service? We are running a business from home and have had no Internet for two days. They now tell me it’ll be a week before they can come and look at it. With so many people working from home this is just not good enough NBN# Dodo#

@NBN_Australia Thanks for responding. Yes, I called them and they said it was going to be down until 15:00 today according to the information he saw on their system. My neighbor’s nbn was also down.

@AlboMP We are waiting for an NBN connection in the Blue Mountains. It will be fibre to the kerb. Our old copper wire connection to the house looks like what’s in that pit. The last time a Telstra service person looked at it, he said it was “stuffed”. But it’s what will connect us.

So disappointed with @TPG_Telecom. I’ve been a customer for ten years and can’t believe how shabby their customer service has gotten. Guess it’s off to @Optus for our NBN needs

@Telstra your NBN service is so so bad it’s beyond words - 0.1MBs “speed” for days, online help/chat is unmanned and over 1hr listening to your hold music!! Hopeless.

Day 23 of my 30-day wait to have someone from NBN Australia come over, hang out for a bit, and plug a box into my wall which already has an NBN outlet. I'm either about to go nuts or stop caring what data costs to hotspot, and neither will end well 😵😵😵

AusValues
(@georbear) reported
@marauderlil90 @markhumphries Yes, it's a terrible market for renters. There are huge shortages of rental properties. These issues are much bigger and more important than a $300 NBN connection.
-
💧Sally Lawry
(@SallyLawry) reported
@markhumphries @NBN_Australia Seems unfair that a renter pay for NBN twice . Can you take the issue to Telco and or local member and other MPS. Owner organised NBN for new houses next door . ? Subsidised . Need to lobby to change. The most vulnerable are hit . The owner must be able to write off as tax.
-
Susan
(@SusanPFinney) reported
@markhumphries IMHO landlords should have a list of things that are necessary, but a renter would never want to pay for as it adds to the value of the home. Such as insulation, PV cells, efficient water heaters, r/c air conditioning, nbn etc etc before they are allowed to rent it out. 🤔
-
James Hutcheon
(@hutcho66) reported
@julie_library @markhumphries In apartment buildings etc, the developer pays to get all the wiring done and the main connection to NBN, but each apartment has to pay the fee for someone to allocate a line to the individual apartment. That fee can't be prepaid by the owner, it gets paid on first service.
-
BhagsNStonks
(@BhagsNStonks) reported
@markhumphries 100%. NBN is spending an estimated $18k to upgrade existing home owners to FTTP. The cost? $0. Yet a new home builder or renter needs to pay $300 to connect a vital service. Especially tragic the renter must pay given they don't own the home
-
James Hutcheon
(@hutcho66) reported
@rhinoz It helped that I asked the agent during inspection "does the property have NBN connected" and they said yes and then when I discovered the FTTP box had been installed by the building developer but never connected by the previous tenant, I refered back to the conversation :)
-
Rkstr688
(@Rockstr688) reported
@NBN_Australia Rather than wasting money on useless ****, maybe invest that money into NBN infrastructure. Sort of pointless.. and sounds like a bit of a money laundering scam.
-
James Hutcheon
(@hutcho66) reported
@SteveJohnsonCAD @markhumphries Part of the issue is that there's nothing stopping a landlord advertising a property as "NBN ready" because the NBN has done the physical install, even though the connection fee hasn't been paid.
-
Kai Free
(@FreeKs66) reported
@markhumphries Yup, daughters rental has dodgy wiring for nbn that keeps cutting out. Landlord refuses to fix it.
-
Mitchul Hope
(@mitchul_hope) reported
@notsomadboy @ryanjchr Should it not be the responsibility of the landlord to pay it? I would consider that the same type of utility charge as a landlord paying to fix elec~/plumbing. Hardly fair that a tenant has to pay a one off fee so that everyone else who ever rents that house can get the NBN.
