    @Orda_CS @Telstra @iiNet @Optus Ive heard plenty of stories over the years of Australia getting less than adequate internet. I dunno why its such a problem.

    @SilvesterSJ @markzzzsmith We always used to joke that iiNet was a helpdesk operations company, and the only reason they needed a network was to give people something to open tickets about.

    @markzzzsmith @NewtonMark Interesting. Sounds like they somewhat achieved what iiNet always wanted. To be a sales / marketing / helpdesk behemoth without actually owning any network assets.

    @iiNet We only use WiFi. We see the problems everywhere. The speed drops in the evening.

    @iiNet The #nbn installation team was in my house recently. They didn't find any problems. I think there was less than 5 dB loss from the cable pit to my termination point and my neighbour gets 100+ mbps from the same pit. I am wondering if the problem is upstream.

    so uhh, mad props to @mmalone26 for teaching staff/customers on @iiNet Whirlpool when major faults caused blowout Support queues. that knowledge has been useful lots of times over my life

    Update. Well, we're still connected to the digital world but at a ver-rry slow rate. Nothing as nippy as good ol' adsl, no sir-ee. Maybe an update of the rather shoddy modem supplied by iinet might get things moving a tad quicker. Or not. A and I are only giving it one star.

    @iiNet oh, u must mean when I rang to cancel the ADSL service on Monday, and was told there was no need for my call. I assume this was so u could then double charge me for a whole month, had I not been diligent and forced your hand.

    @iiNet Thanks for the reply. I am actually getting 300mbps now (🔥. It was bouncing between 30mbps and 5mbps for most of the evening. I did power cycle the modem since so maybe that has solved the issue. Will report if it drops again.
