XCorpHub (@XCorpHub) reported🚨 Telstra, TPG telecom clash with Musk’s SpaceX over Starlink spectrum guarantee Australian telecom giants Telstra and TPG Telecom are urging the government to hold competitive auctions for satellite-mobile frequencies instead of granting SpaceX guaranteed priority access for Starlink’s Direct-to-Cell service. They warn that such guarantees risk market concentration and could lead to higher consumer prices. SpaceX has cautioned that without assured spectrum through a direct network licence it may withhold full deployment of the service in Australia. • Telstra and TPG stress the need for multiple satellite providers and diverse commercial models to promote genuine competition. • The outcome will influence connectivity expansion across remote and regional Australia where traditional networks fall short.

deirdre ritchie (@deirdreritchi10) reportedWeird. Just got a message from Telstra saying that tomorrow there is going to be an interruption to my home internet service for up to 5h 59m. Why didn't they just say 6 hours? Bizarre.

Vernon Deer (@D64861Deer) reported@Totally4yeah @Tank9999 I have bottle gas for cooking & a wood fire stove (about 80yrs old) for cooking and heating in winter and a wood heater, evap cooling and use town water. Even the batteries are secondhand, most from Telstra swap-outs. Have had 1 battery fail in 25 years.

M (@imboudee) reported@Justme136160 @robb_j_m To be fair, David is not wrong. Telcos will use the NBN infrastructure as they see fit. It’s cheaper to pay to use the NBN infrastructure that is already there than to lay down their own fibre. In fact, telcos like Optus and Telstra are already NBN providers.

Greg Briggs (@greg__briggs) reported@disco___cat Have you thought about Aldi? They use Telstra network and way cheaper. Have the kids on them and will probably switch my wife and I across later this year.

Alan Baxter ♛ (@AlanBixter) reportedUsually @Telstra is happy to jump on line and offer a fix (of sorts) to complaints about their terrible service. Not today. They have no fix for no fibre, flooded and archaic coaxial, and massively overloaded 5G. Too long bullshitting govt and shareholders. They just can't cope.

HonkyTonkyHawks (@HonkyTonkyHawks) reported@mjonc43 @tommorris32 Telstra and champion data don’t control the cameras at the ground you ******* idiot.

Doctor Vadar Who (@DoctorVadarWho) reported@Telstra when are you going to support RCS for iPhone in Australia because I would like to have it so green bubbles don't mess up group messages @Apple
-
TK (@tk_bulba) reportedAfter numerous issues with @Telstra NBN were decided to give @Aussie_BB a try. Never again. For a company that prides itself on customer support this is the worst connection experience I’ve encountered. Allegedly now an NBN wide issue is preventing new connections.

Harry Snape (@HarryFromSyd) reported@KingstaKingsta1 @craigkellyAFEE Not the Howard garbage again. Keating sold CBA for $8B and spent the money bailing out VIC Labor. CBA is sort $260B and has given $150B in dividends. Howard sold Telstra for $45B (now $52B), used the money to pay off debt and create the future fund, it’s worth $320B
