  @lachiemc64 I’m told we’ve no choice now FRAUDBAND is in our area. So much for lnp’s free market bullshit. Only when it suits their greedy parasitic mates. ADSL, though slow, never drops out although I note Telstra will still charge like the “Light Brigade” to fix the loose copper to my home

  Hey @telstra, it’s been 15hrs since I could make a call or get service outside of wifi hotspots. Any chance of any help whatsoever? Your app doesn’t work. Your online support keeps asking me what modem I’m using. I’m currently travelling and no service is not ok.

  The ASX is set to dip at the open, with index futures down 0.2%. It comes ahead of big earnings results this morning from Telstra, Origin, Transurban, ASX, and Insurance Australia Group. Overnight, US markets mostly lifted, with the S&P 500 up 0.3% and the Nasdaq adding 0.5%.

  Twelve live Australian job ads integrate AI in the title with enablement, transformation, automation, or change. Only ten companies have posted them. HESTA is hiring an “Enterprise AI Enablement Lead,” TAL an “AI and Automation Lead,”  IAG an “AI and Automation Principal.” Aware Super wants an “AI Strategy Change Lead”. CBA’s is a financial crime compliance role, and Insignia Financial’s is in risk. Four engineering roles at Canva, Xero, and Telstra. Which leaves two, and both are at EY. One is an “Associate Partner - Solutions Architect - AI Transformation,” sold through its Microsoft alliance. The other is a “Transformation and AI Marketing Leader” on a 12-month parental leave cover to take EY’s AI transformation offering to market. It’s the only live Australian marketing role in the twelve, and the AI capability it asks for- advanced use of Copilot, ChatGPT, and Perplexity- is in the optional skills. I built a workforce intelligence platform, and I’m analysing how AI is being written into new job roles. As of 27th August 2026, it holds 1,603 live Australian specs across 102 companies. Of 1,522 live marketing specs globally, 232 are AI-central, roles where AI is core or supporting the work as written. Of those, 179 (77.2%) carry no decision architecture. Nothing about who checks the model or who can override it, and no one is named accountable for what it produces. Across all functions, it’s 65.1%. Marketing is 12.1 points worse. Australian marketing is 101 live specs. Eight are AI-central, and seven of them have zero decision architecture. A CMO who hasn’t hired for this borrows it from an agency. Agencies post AI-central roles in 13.3% of 2,763 live specs. The banks and insurers they pitch to post them in 13.2% of 2,261. The seller and the buyer are hiring at the same rate. One Australian marketing team has written the role properly. NAB advertised a Head of Agentic Marketing in May, asking the hire to support the “redesign of marketing operating models and workflows using AI agents,” with humans kept in the loop and someone named accountable for what the agents produce. It scored 4 out of 4 in decision architecture, the only Australian marketing spec in 402 to do so. It hasn’t been live since 7th June 2026.

  @DHughesy No. Only an idiot would agree - because they'd be wrong. 1. It's not worth "over $300 billion". The $64 billion dollar investment is worth $269 billion 2. If you're using the "over 300 billion" figure ($337.2 billion) that figure means your "no future Fed Govt put one cent into it" bit is incorrect because this figure includes MULTIPLE additional multi-billion dollar funds added to the Future Fund's management portfolio. 3. The future fund wasn't built on some kind of free money windfall... The $64 billion invested came primarily from the Telstra sale. The Telstra sale meant the copper network was privatised, leading to Telstra putting shareholders first in refusing to bid on optic fibre rollouts. This meant the government has so far spent around $64 billion ($70bn by the end of the decade) to re-create Telstra's infrastructure under NBN Co. Meanwhile Telstra has paid $65-80bn in dividends since privatisation moved those dividends from public to private hands. So for every $1 we gained from the Telstra sale, we missed another $1 in dividends and spent another $1 in replacing the infrastructure we sold. Had a publicly-owned Telstra built the NBN out of dividends, and the government raised $64bn in debt to invest in a Future Fund, the books would look exactly the same as they do today. You've been dazzled by accounting tricks - following a magician's misdirection, and calling it "magic". 4. "negating the trillion plus debts... to some degree" is bullshit... It was created to cover DECADES worth of unpaid public service and military retirement benefits. Those debts amount to $322 billion, to be paid out of (currently) $269 billion in funds - leaving a $53 billion dollar black hole. Had the money been paid to super in a timely fashion (rather than the Future Fund being set up to cover unpaid pension debts), that $322 billion in benefits would be sitting in private super accounts right now. Again, you're dazzled by an accountant's magic tricks. Not free money - not "negating debts" - just a big government-owned super fund. "Can we all agree it was amazing when the magician sawed that woman in half! He should be a surgeon!"

  @Telstra Hi Ivan, people are not always home, hence why we ALL have mobile phones. Check Telstra history re Laverton. We do have an ongoing problem that gets patched numerous time per year. I do not get town slowness if I`m at/near a mine-site which has better internet speeds.

  Unfortunately I wasn't able to stream tonight. My Telstra internet connection upload speed was terrible. It was very good for the past several months my mobile broadband connection was. Nearly 30mb per sec upload speed. But now it's down to the crawl 12mb. Not happy with my ISP.
