@lachiemc64 I’m told we’ve no choice now FRAUDBAND is in our area. So much for lnp’s free market bullshit. Only when it suits their greedy parasitic mates. ADSL, though slow, never drops out although I note Telstra will still charge like the “Light Brigade” to fix the loose copper to my home

@_shanmoho @hasselljpb @Telstra They 'upgraded' to 5G down here last year and killing the 4G network in the process. Hahahaha .Had to switch to a different provider.

@Starlink I can see the tower from my front door. I'm less than 5km from a major centre that rivals our capitol city CBD. Telstra reprioritised the tower equipment to service a wealthy nearby suburb, meaning my entire area gets no service at all. Like, zero bars. And they don't care.

Yo Aussies anyone else with telstra (or companies that use their network, like belong) having issues with data?? Woke up this morning and the wifi wasn't working, turned on my data and... that wasn't working either. And my roommate's data isn't working either

@SSzczepkow87759 @OneNewsAu There will be four. The big three + Starlink. Starlink fills in the gaps is coverage with low orbit satellite connectivity the others don’t have. But I hope they ’ll have a plan that’s doesn’t include Optus. They already have a deal with Telstra who sellers Starlink cheaper and slower (bad for Starlink brand). Assuming the same hustle will occur with Optus. Competition is always good - but not when the competition works together..

@VoteLewko @Starlink good, Telstra deserve to loose with their **** customer service...

@StephenKealy1 @blowingtom2 The next stuff up of Howards was privatising Telstra. The economic damage and inefficiency imposed on the Australian economy has been horrendous. Every household pays for that mess. The government had to then spend $60b to role out the broadband.

  • rn_lilydale
    WaltzingRNLilydale (@rn_lilydale) reported

@newscomauHQ The 🇦🇺 government does the same, on a much larger scale. Federal agencies (Immigration, ATO etc.) and major contractors have long outsourced call centres, customer service and IT work to the Philippines and India, thousands of roles. Telstra, banks and others do the same.

ngl @Starlink is a complete game changer for australia and remote communities all over the world telstra at the very least deserves this disruption, it is their just deserts for lobbying to hamstring australia's national broadband network (what do you think, @MrKRudd?)
