Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Geelong, Victoria@Henjam48 @JaneCaro @TonyAbbottMHR @NBN_Australia They’ve been set up to fail. Like most entities that are answerable to govt. The person responsible for it all is JWH. Had Telstra not been sold in the first place, it would have continued to upgrade its network and we may not have needed an NBN on the scale the ALP envisaged.
-
ADEM 💫 (@AdemEve) reported from Geelong, Victoria@Telstra Says no outage in Lovely Banks but I cannot access anything 4G or 3G.

Cory (@corymedia) reported from Geelong, VictoriaOne of Telstra’s selling points for their upcoming Upfront Mobile Plans (basically prepaid), is that you can’t go over your data limit, speeds are just reduced for the remainder of billing cycle. The fact is, this network feature has been available for around two years.
-
alisha. (@_heleali) reported from Geelong, Victoria@Telstra your staff were unhelpful on the phone. @Ticketek_AU your website is not applying discount for any game, whereas the @Ticketmaster is applying the proper discount! Please help. Game is tomorrow!

Cory (@cjnetlink) reported from Geelong, VictoriaWhy is @3AW693 targeting @Telstra about the NBN and how it’ll cope with the increased load on the network. There are other providers of the NBN out there. #sheeple listening will take any slow downs or outages as being Telstra’s fault/problem.
-
Gary Tilley (@garytilley) reported from Geelong, Victoria@Telstra In the meantime we are using all our data and @Telstra want to charge $10 every time yo use 1 gb. Poor form
-
MsH (@H_the_Cats_Fan) reported from Geelong, Victoria@Jack_Klompas @PatrickM_Gray Because the AFL want us to play at the G. We used to play all our home games at Marvel when it was Telstra Dome, and hardly any at the G. That’s the AFL’s fault, not Geelong. The AFL don’t give a **** about Geelong and the Bulldogs honestly.
-
Dave Wood (@75b0ce8567df4cd) reported from Geelong, Victoria@Telstra you forced me to go to the TIO when a simple phone call could have averted the need to involve the TIO. Your customer service ranks on top of the worst shit ever.

Grok (@grok) reported@chatzi41 @iSpeedtestOS That's the iOS 26.5 update adding end-to-end encrypted RCS (beta) support on Apple's side. In Australia it still requires carrier activation from Telstra, Optus or Vodafone — they're not live yet. Rollout still looking like mid-to-late 2026. Toggle should appear in Messages once your carrier enables it.

Cdbrown (@BrowntownBrew) reported@diss_presso @robb_j_m There was no free market competition before because of Telstra. The substandard part of the network is slowly being replaced as people sign up for the free fibre upgrade

Muskonomy (@muskonomy) reportedNEWS: Telstra and TPG push Australian government for competitive spectrum auctions despite SpaceX warning Australian mobile carriers Telstra and TPG Telecom have urged the government to go ahead with open, competitive auctions for spectrum licences used for mobile and satellite mobile services, even after SpaceX warned it would withhold Starlink satellite mobile service in Australia if it isn’t given priority access to key wireless spectrum. SpaceX has made it clear that its satellite-to-mobile network (Starlink Direct to Cell) needs guaranteed access to Australia’s wireless airwaves to launch its full services — including voice and data for phones directly from satellites. But Telstra and TPG argue that giving one provider priority access risks limiting competition and could lock in high prices for consumers. A TPG spokesperson said competitive auctions are important because market concentration is a real risk if policy settings favour a single operator. They stressed Australia should encourage multiple satellite providers and business models, not entrench dominance by any one company, whether traditional mobile or satellite-based. Telstra and TPG’s stance comes amid broader debate about how Australia will manage spectrum — a critical resource that carries all mobile voice, text and data traffic. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has been consulting on future spectrum licences and how to allocate them fairly as older licences expire and new services are developed. Telstra itself has been active in satellite-mobile tech, testing and rolling out basic satellite messaging in Australia using SpaceX’s Direct to Cell system, but carriers say full commercial services must not be tied to exclusive spectrum access for one provider.

XCorpHub (@XCorpHub) reported🚨 Telstra, TPG telecom clash with Musk’s SpaceX over Starlink spectrum guarantee Australian telecom giants Telstra and TPG Telecom are urging the government to hold competitive auctions for satellite-mobile frequencies instead of granting SpaceX guaranteed priority access for Starlink’s Direct-to-Cell service. They warn that such guarantees risk market concentration and could lead to higher consumer prices. SpaceX has cautioned that without assured spectrum through a direct network licence it may withhold full deployment of the service in Australia. • Telstra and TPG stress the need for multiple satellite providers and diverse commercial models to promote genuine competition. • The outcome will influence connectivity expansion across remote and regional Australia where traditional networks fall short.

Steph McG (@oohaah_67) reported@Telstra now it’s a joke hey! Hamlyn Terrace and surrounding areas without 5G for the last couple of days. If you can’t fix or find the fault how about deploying mobile towers. Not everyone has NBN connectivity.
-
Dodgy Looks (@LooksDodgy) reported@robb_j_m Live out bush and had Satelite NBN - absolute crap - $89 pm. Telstra signal - absolute crap - $74 - 50Gig - pm. Swapped - Starlink - perfect internet and wifi calling - $139 pm - unlimited. Downgraded sim card to a cheap telstra operator - $25 pm. So total internet and phone went from $163 to $164 pm. That extra $1 quadrupled the speed and reception!

YehYeh (@Rusty_times) reported@markbouris Would of had a national broadband network years earlier if Telstra wasn’t sold off. The fire sale PM
