  @MargMcCrohon @jmil400 @gdgoz Remember how American Toe Cutter stopped by St Andrews and was nonplussed to hear prayers being offered to ask the Gov for help during Financial Crisis- returned to USA with Sol Whatsit (Telstra) with $$$ millions golden handshake, and received Wall St bank payout.

  @Telstra Thanks Tanasha, advised that I pay next bill incl the $15 fine & then seek a reimbursement. That is not acceptable & I refuse to waste further time over a @telstra error. The fine should not be charged in the first place - I alerted #Telstra to the issue!

  @djshaneday @Telstra Ordinarily no but knew wouldn’t be able 2 pay next bill on date, @telstra advise no ‘top-ups’ b4 them issuing bill so DD next option. Dutifully signed up, due date came, no debit at midnight, rang, told their fault, I had paid up, but ‘fined’ $15. Never,ever DD w @telstra peeps!

  @MikeCarlton01 @Telstra That would be vodafone followed by optus and then telstra. Before anyone comes after me, vodafone went down for several months in 2010/2011, optus had a data breach in 2022 that affected nearly 10 million customers. Telstra just inconvenienced people.

  Why is it the USA can communicate with a space ship circulating the moon but Australia has such a hard job communicating with a ******* train just around the corner.. Because of this useless waste of space Anita Wells…. WHY is Australia STILL relying on just a single network for the train networks and 000 and a host of so many essential infrastructure ?? WHY hasn’t our government, especially after the Optus outages just changed the laws to the filthy rich telecommunications companies that they have to combine both networks together for things of major importance to the running of the country ?? 000 and train networks. You want a communications licence… fix the bloody thing so at least BOTH Telstra and Optus are both responsible for the safety of Australia and every Australian.. @AngusTaylorMP @PaulineHansonOz

That’s why ACMA and the Triple Zero Custodian are investigating right now, and why Labor can hit them with up to $30 million in fines. Your history lesson is sloppy: partial sales started under Hawke/Keating Labor, final tranches under Howard. But that was 20 years ago. Albanese has been “fixing the LNP/PHON mess” since 2022 — and the result under his watch is a software bug that wiped out 600+ Triple Zero calls, stopped trains, triggered hundreds of welfare checks, and may have killed someone. Blaming 1997–2006 ghosts while your government fails to enforce basic oversight on critical infrastructure today is pure deflection. Stop whitewashing another Labor failure, puppet.

  Telstra is a PRIVATE CORPORATION not a govt institutuon. LNP with Hanson (Ind) in 1997.. partial sale & 2006 with PHON support.. FULL sale! That’s why it’s NOT a good idea to PRIVATISE VITAL INDUSTRIES (communications banks etc)! Labor STILL dealing with/fixing LNP/PHON MESS!

  @MikeCarlton01 @Telstra Look at the bright side. Now you know the Y2K bug was NOT a scam. Can you imagine what would have happened if Telstra didn’t take action to prevent the Y2K meltdown. This was a midrange server issue. If the Telstra mainframe systems go down it could have been a lot worse.

  @TimLooker @ABCaustralia Since privatisation Telstra has got rid of most of its technical staff and focused on ways to squeeze consumers harder for profits. They have consistently and brazenly ignored their service obligations and treat Australians as mugs. Thanks John Howard you evil prick

  @daz930 @TerenceMcCart14 Costs for the land from Council. The advertising revenue more than covers the network costs and is a profit centre for Telstra. Since suburban ones would be running at a loss, but under city/CBD highly profitable. Run mix of Telstra and 3rd party advertising.

  @MikeCarlton01 @Telstra Telecommunications network technology is unimaginably complex. Knowing about potential problems & being able to find & fix all of them are completely different things. Telstra & ACMA bosses are to blame. But because they make decisions based on self-interest. Not incompetence.
