@SallyLawry @RuncibleH Took the words out of my mouth. Qantas, Telstra & CommBank have all gone down the toilet. They’ll be out to sea in a couple of months.

  • sacarlin48
Anne Carlin #WeAreAllPRGuy (@sacarlin48) reported from Gold Coast, Queensland

@bustdboozehound @nineislands I do too. Great plan. Everything included. My modem died at home and the family all used the 25gig I'd rolled over to access the internet while I got a new one. They use the Telstra network.

@KoparaFallsKid Don't ring @Telstra then. After the automated conversation which takes about 5 mins they direct to their (fu*king useless) website...thereby telling you you are an insignificant customer and then hang up on you.

  • db0984
David Brown (@db0984) reported from Gold Coast, Queensland

@Telstra Damage is already done. I’ve been on 24/7 chat via the app and telstra basically put the ownership back onto me when it was @Telstra’s error. So in our chat conversation we agreed to disagree and what should have been a credit back on onto my account turned to a tio complaint

@StickelSam @Telstra Very poor by @Telstra now 7 days of no service, yet they will expect me to to pay my bill in full when it’s due, so so wrong of them

@VodafoneAU After ditching #Vodafone broadband to my mother's house...for terrible service and drop out after drop out and not a phone call to her...#telstra called today to update us on the Gen 3 modem and more. Not 1 drop out yet since Friday. This is service is so welcoming !

  • ProfBravus
David Geelan (@ProfBravus) reported from Gold Coast, Queensland

@Telstra No, all it says is that it’s a problem with the NBN network. No further information. I understand you at Telstra may not be getting the info you need. Just a frustrating experience.

@basell_allan @Telstra My mum was a telephonist with them from the age of 17 until retirement. She alway went out of her way to help people. Even walked through the BNE 74 floods to get to work to do her shift.

  • jdw_86
jdw86 (@jdw_86) reported from Gold Coast, Queensland

@Telstra wanna explain why you’ve linked someone else’s account to my My Telstra account but won’t let me remove it... even when I contact you directly... I take it privacy and customer satisfaction is a secondary concern aye

  • pkfrancis
Paul Francis (@pkfrancis) reported from Gold Coast, Queensland

Thoughts on switching to Aussie Broadband? Am with Telstra (on NBN) and the dropouts are ridiculous. Conscious it'll reuse a lot of the same infrastructure but even the customer service has to be better??!

  • ProfBravus
David Geelan (@ProfBravus) reported from Gold Coast, Queensland

@Telstra Still down, still no useful information

  • Spankyhunter

@Telstra in investigating mobile booster options for my parents (which cost $2000) with Telstra WOM Dept, they advised the Telstra map showed their area had excellent service. I can promise you they have 1 bar inside and 2 outside. Can you investigate Gleneagle 4285 please

Why is nobody talking about how when 3G towers were turned off, reception with @Telstra turned to crap? 4G and 5G provide worse coverage than we had with 3G. But we pay more now. Make it make sense.

  • heg_emon
    Yoru Barman (@heg_emon) reported

Starlink Mobile (formerly Direct-to-Cell) is already live. About 650 satellites currently deliver text, location, and limited data/apps to unmodified LTE phones in dead zones via partners like T-Mobile (T-Satellite), Rogers, Telstra, KDDI and others across dozens of countries. Native high-speed 5G-level service and continuous global coverage (including poles) arrive with V2 satellites starting late 2027, targeting full planet by end of 2028 as per Grok.

@ChinaSelect Australia has had two major telecommunications network failures. As a result of the Telstra failure, three people died, including a baby. One person died as a result of the Optus failure. No infrastructure should have any exposure to foreign adversaries.

I’m sorry but in 2012 I paid $350 or so to attend two Soundwaves and saw System of a Down amongst like 15 other good bands I’m not paying $300 to sit in the back row on level 3 of the Telstra Dome surrounded my people who discovered nu metal ten minutes ago. I’ve been waiting 14 years to see SOAD again but that is taking the absolute piss.

What's happening in the land down under 1. AusAlert passed the test. That’s not the same as passing the public. Millions of phones lit up during the national AusAlert test. Others got nothing. Older phones missed it. Landlines missed it. Queensland has already said it’s not signing up yet. The government still called it a success. That’s the problem with big national systems. They can work at scale and still fail the people who need them most. An emergency alert isn’t a marketing email. “Most people received it” isn’t the standard. The standard is whether it reaches the person in a flood zone, bushfire path, or cyclone area, including people with old devices, poor coverage, disabilities, or no smartphone at all. 2. Origin’s breach has moved from “what was stolen?” to “what was agreed?” Origin has confirmed data from about 900,000 current and former customers was taken. Now the alleged hacker says the matter has been privately settled and the data won’t be released. That leaves one very obvious question: was a ransom paid? Companies hate talking about this because there are no good options. Paying doesn’t guarantee deletion. Not paying can mean customer data gets dumped online. And either way, the people whose details were stolen have no say in the negotiation. The breach is the first failure. The weeks of uncertainty afterwards are the second. 3. A Telstra outage stopped trains. It shouldn’t have. A telecoms outage took out trains because the switch to the Telstra mobile network was poorly managed. This is what people mean when they talk about critical infrastructure. A train network shouldn’t depend on one fragile link behaving perfectly. The backup needs to be real. Tested. Able to fail over without someone discovering in the middle of an outage that the contingency plan was mostly a PDF and good intentions. Australia is wiring more of daily life into connected systems. Reliability is no longer an IT metric. It’s whether people can get home.
