The business was a cash cow. Telstra would send tens of thousands of dollars every month, yrs after our rel’ship to the customer had faded to nothing. Most ppl would buy a phone and we’d never see them again but Telstra kept sending us 3% of the value of their monthly phone bill.

@Telstra As a customer this causes unneeded stress, old people die from stress so how can we stream line the process for when customers swap networks to assist with financial flow?

@peters_malcolm 6 months of problems of limited to no reception and 20 or so contacts with Optus drove us to move away. Then trying to finalise our accounts was just insanity with false promises and either no action or partial. Moved to Telstra no problems.

Dear @Telstra and @Optus Can you two work out a way so customers like myself dont have to deal with paying off a phone, when hand over happens all the bills should be sent to the company not the customer, then that company should ask the customer to pay off said bill. Thanks.

@Telstra @TelstraEnt @andy_penn On our network, trying to pay off a device payment Optus are playing hard ball tried calling 3 times to pay said bill and just going to say their network security to pay off said bill is hard for customers switching services.

Telstra direct debit payment failed (their fault, the account number is correct) so I paid with BPay. Turns out the BPay doesn't work if you're on direct debit. But they don't tell you that, so they a) took the money anyway and b) cut me off.

@teflocarbon NZ split their government owned telco (their version of Telstra) into two - kept one as gov owned and made them do the fibre network, sold the retail arm.

@Ode_to_Sorrow It's 4G and, over the past 9 months, I have run the gamut, culminating in the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman's finding that Telstra has breached Australian Consumer Law by providing a service not fit for purpose. The complaint is now with Telstra's CEO.

@RoadknightThe had a similar issue last week. Called Telstra and they remotely updated some firmware and was running fine again. Good luck.
