@nat_ofoibles Oh wow, that’s how I felt calling this guy during the week, lucky he already knew, had reported it to Telstra, but they still hadn’t done anything. He was receiving half a dozen calls a day from ppl like me, asking why he’d called & hung up - poor guy😬😔

  • AnimusSpirits
Animus Distillery (@AnimusSpirits) reported from Kyneton, Victoria

@Telstra We have tried. @Telstra referred us to our provider, TPG, who in turn have referred us to the NBN. It’s been 5 days as we still have no service.

  • AnimusSpirits
Animus Distillery (@AnimusSpirits) reported from Kyneton, Victoria

@Telstra Understood. However, as @telstra disconnected our service instead of our vacating neighbours, I would hope they could assist in rectifying the issue and reconnecting us.

I (and assume many others) met with Telstra many times over the years pitching why they needed more redundancy in their network, like my team setup up in the UK, also here in Australia even how we paid for it as a Telco, there and here in Melbourne. Telstra never wanted to spend the money, all about monetary cost vs likely financial risk. Some of the issues were well known. 1) Failure of the Triple Zero (000) Fallback, 2) Centralized "Single Point of Failure" for Time Sync, 3) Total Lack of Sovereign Redundancy for Public Services. @AnikaWells - a good quesition .. "Telstra how many of the known 3 failed systems in this exact incident did you have redundancy in or available but cut funding to, and / or staff, but did not have due to lack of perceived financial risk, eg 000 back up. .. @abcnews

@LeeRespecter Privatisation in her mind means cost cutting to provide more value to shareholders. What that means in reality for maintaining a network is outsourcing the work to Infosys or the like. I don't see how Telstra being public prevents that happening as its the done thing these days

  • RizviAbul

Perhaps Murdoch press should not have been so vocal in its support for the sale of Telstra?

@Telstra The same reason I left Telstra. Can’t identify how to fix issues only make them worse. Hire skilled labour instead of retards or perish

@SkyNewsAust When Telstra failed to deliver reliable service, Jason Clare MP @JasonClareMP, the Albanese Labor Government's Minister for Education, said: "People could have died." But when @AlboMP broke his campaign promise, Jim Chalmers, the Albanese Labor Government's Treasurer, said: "People will get through it." ******* shameless.

@SkyNewsAust Is it true the outrage was due to the technical side of Telstra being handed over to contractor companies in India, and the “Telstra” mangers who look after this area are also located in India!? There are very few Australians left to work on our own network here is Australia!

@Telstra If she was sorry she would resign She’s not sorry Telstra continue to be the worst telco this country has

@agroasx @Telstra Flexing 23 likes, lmao You do realise that Starlink is severely capacity limited compared to mobile towers, right? It's actually beneficial for the business models of mobile providers if they don't need to run very expensive rural towers to service like 500 customers.

  • andrewrdn463
    Andrew (@andrewrdn463) reported

@Telstra All Tesltra customers need compensation for the outage - the phone bill for that month period needs to be waived and a payment of about $500 given, Vicki Brady is on $8 million a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CUSTOMERS SUFFERED A LOT WHILE SHE WAS PLEASURING HERSELF OVERSEAS.
