@corduroy @Optus Last year Telstra was the same man. They just have no clue about customer service.

    @paulshelb @Telstra Damn!

  • benlorduk
Ben Lord (@benlorduk) reported from Port Douglas, Queensland

Shockingly bad service from @Telstra - no phone or internet service for a week now. Keep calling to be told either the case has been closed (without resolution) or it’s being worked on and to expect an update within 24 hours. Utterly hopeless!

  • portdouglas
Keithea Schaedler, Port Douglas Qld real estate (@portdouglas) reported from Port Douglas, Queensland

@Telstra I eventually spent yet more time trying to resolve this earlier today. If the matter is not resolved as had been proposed by Telstra customer service person 8 days ago, I will indeed lodge a complaint. This has been going on for 3 months & I'm tired of reinventing the wheel.

@NuttElecs @PaulBongiorno i remember a few years ago when a small fire in a chatswood telstra office took out their whole national SMS system. telstra loves single point of failure network design, i doubt they have much redundancy at all.

  • johnmartin_au
    JM (@johnmartin_au) reported

One software defect took down mobile calls, regional trains, freight and EFTPOS for a day. 333 welfare checks over failed Triple Zero calls. Telstra will fix its process, the harder question is national: how much of our critical infrastructure hangs on single points of failure? JM #Telstra

  • driver_x_oz
    Driver_x_oz (@driver_x_oz) reported

@Anneeokeefe Hardly it’s that Telstra and VicTrack completely screwed up the communications network resilience and redundancy. If they had done their jobs properly this wouldn’t have happened.

@MikeCarlton01 @Telstra In perspective though, as a regional resident of NSW with friends across many regions and states, none report having lost Telstra service anytime in the past week Is it a city thing or just involving 000 ?

  • hellenomania
    Giordano Bruno (@hellenomania) reported

@NetworkChuck Hi mate Australia just had its national network carrier Telstra go down because it lost time Sync. SOmething I know you would be interested in with server time sync videos in the past.

  • twensor
    twensor (@twensor) reported

@adaptive_ape But this outage is so much wider than safety (eg. triple zero). This failure has impacted on & exposed the lack of resilience of so many other economic systems seemingly hopelessly dependent on modern communications infrastructure working 100% of the time. #auspol #Telstra

  • NTPGolf66
    NTP Golf (@NTPGolf66) reported

The @AustralianLabor government communications minister threatening to fine @Telstra $40m for their outage is next level hypocrisy given the carnage the same government has caused to the economy and tax payers with no ramifications.

  • keskes60
Just Kas - If Not Now Then When? (@keskes60) reported

@CecPedersen @Qldaah I'm sure that as the Shadow Communications minister she would have enough access to senior #Telstra staff to confirm if there was a problem Or indeed a simple call to the Minister's office

  • DancingDanB
    Dancing Dan (@DancingDanB) reported

I’m not defending the gov, but it’s not always the gov fault when a gov funded service fails. This is primarily on Telstra (a privatised, formerly government service).

@status_is_down is Telstra still down in SA?
