@Telstra How on earth do you suggest I resolve my problem when your app won’t run a diagnostic or tells me the NBN diagnostic failed and you are prohibiting telephone call contact due to COVID 19 ... how do I study or work??????????

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

Bravo @Telstra After 2.5 hours dealing with 3 customer service reps with no appreciation of customer service who asked me the exact same questions 3 times, you have given me no option but to take this to the Ombudsman ... bravo again 👏

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Telstra also unreasonable and NOT good enough to have had NO wifi functionality for 9 days ... I have multiple devices and streaming services that rely on wifi connectivity ... I have been unable to back up my devices for 9 days ... no-one is able to help me with my complaint

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Telstra @NBN_Australia Thankgod for a switched on technician ... my wifi issue was the result of my modem disabling the wifi functionality during a firmware upgrade and had you bothered to run a diagnostic @Telstra could have confirmed this 12 days ago - 👏 ineptitude #bravo

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Telstra I’m having trouble with the fact I have an nbn internet contract & @Telstra has been in breach of contract for 15 days ... for 8 days I had no wifi, nbn or landline ... for 7 days I’ve had 4G backup ... NOT GOOD ENOUGH

  • HappyHammer69
HappyHammer (@HappyHammer69) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

Just moved house, been unhappy with Telstra for a while so switched to @Aussie_BB because service supposed to be good! Need a @NBN_Australia tech to connect us, he says not very busy atm @Aussie_BB say it will take a week! #nocommunication #badservice

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Telstra I fail to see the humour in a now 28 hour old NBN outage that has meant I have spent the best part of 2.5 hours in the Telstra app chatting with 3 separate customer service reps asking the exact same questions and still no further along with answers

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

Making a complaint directly to @Telstra has as much utility as a doorbell on a coffin ... my case manager didn’t do anything and didn’t tell me anything I already didn’t know & condoned a 17 day wait for a technician visit ... your thoughts @rayhadley2gb?

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

So @Telstra even when there is CLEAR miscommunication between your various departments leading to incorrect expectations being set you STILL pass the buck ... DO NOT reach out to me - we’ve done this dance >3 times and you STILL pass the buck ... FIX IT

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Telstra ALSO disappointing and underwhelming that my complaints officer fails to return your call of yesterday and just “happens” to be on a rest day today when they advise they work Monday-Friday ... no other Officer is available today to help me

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Telstra I feel like I am in a Monty Python skit ... after an ongoing TEN DAY NBN outage until 9pm last night, you assured me the outage was fixed ... between 11am & 4pm today there was yet another outage WITHOUT ANY PRIOR NOTIFICATION BY YOU OF SUCH OUTAGE

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@NBN_Australia I’ve been checking @Telstra ‘s NBN outage website for the past 10 days and each day it says no outage in my area despite Telstra assuring me of a planned outage between 21/2-5/3 which they failed to notify me about prior

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@NBN_Australia Even though @Telstra confirmed at 11am yesterday the outage was resolved and a technician needed to be organised ... at 3pm yesterday I get a call from an entirely different department of Telstra saying my wifi service would resume at 5pm yesterday = bollocks

  • Zaphod_BBX
Zaphod Beeblebrox (@Zaphod_BBX) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@MeckeringBoy @LeanneH56251190 I'm on a 50Mbps plan as well and get 47-48. Have no issues with streaming Netflix or catch up TV at all. I did get a new modem when I went to provider. I went with Aussie Broadband bcs I was sick of Telstra BS. They've been great upfront, honest and ready to fight NBNCo.

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

Well neither @Telstra or @NBN_Australia have managed to resolve my issue between them ... 30 days & counting ... shame on you both ... I have an online University exam worth 40% of my mark to do this weekend ... back to Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@NBN_Australia @NBN_Australia ... Telstra cancelled my technician appointment claiming issue was resolved ... it wasn’t ... earliest a technician can attend is Friday 16/4/21 ... NOT GOOD ENOUGH

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

I have to say @Telstra I smell bollocks when your Complaints Department confirm the planned outage has been resolved and organise a technician to investigate your NBN service but 4 hours later another Department calls you to advise your wifi functionality will be fixed by 5pm 🤔

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Telstra It is simply not good enough and unreasonable for an internet service provider to fail to advise customers of a planned 2 week internet outage ... especially when that customer relies on that service to work from home, do University study and connect multiple devices

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

PS @Telstra I will hold you accountable for ANY promises made me ... and also hold you accountable to transparency by posting any broken promises you make to me by ensuring the public at large know what you are capable of and what you are willing to do to the general public

  • Ballyanamcara
Her Irishness (@Ballyanamcara) reported from Port Macquarie, New South Wales

@Axe99 @Telstra It defies all logic & reason to have to have this amount of contact and repeat myself so many times ... the Telstra customer service rep wanted to do basic troubleshooting of the modem even though I provided the case reference and advised it was a line issue

@ellymelly Yes it is. My regional medical centre I have had the same doctor at for 30 years has been sold about a year ago. It’s now run by an offshore call centre in India and is now full of Indian doctors and I use that term loosely. I will never go to an immigrant doctor. Also in my small regional town , the Telstra shop all Indian staff, two of the 3 Pizza shops are Indian run, women walking around in Saris, all delivery drivers Indian. It’s an invasion!

  • JayStill4

@SistaRuthDOPD Remember after that 1st major Telstra outage we received emails yelling us to upgrade our phones? What happened to that? I got 2 emails and then it all disappeared

@teslaownersSV No good calling 000 if the telstra and other networks are down anyway

  • Jess_H19
    Jess H (@Jess_H19) reported

@Telstra Yes I have reset both phones multiple times over the past days trying to fix data failures, calls not going through, poor signal, messages not notifying. Why am I having to reset so often to get basic function?

@cb_doge Muskie should just buy Telstra…rebrand it to Tesla Mobile Network. T

@Matt_Camenzuli I report to you sleeping in my car using a Telstra pay phone free Internet hotspot. **** is far far far more dire than most wish to wake up to. I see it every night when others are comfy in bed in a home. Far more people are living tough than anyone realises — they ‘come out’ once people ‘go in’ — because otherwise they get told to move on. And they’re gone in the am before people know. SEVERE HARD TIMES are here.

  • MILKERSBOUNCE
    Milkers CTO (@MILKERSBOUNCE) reported

@cb_doge I speak for all of Australia. Bypass Telstra entirely and deliver the service directly. It would be the largest onboarding event ever seen.

  • WazzaGc
    wazza_gc (@WazzaGc) reported

@Telstra been trying to pay a bill for the last *TWO* hours. Can't sign in. Mobile app: "we can't display your account, try later". Deleted and reinstalled app, no change. Windows 11: "something went wrong". This is ridiculous.

Ookla: DIRECT-TO-DEVICE COMES OF AGE IN ASIA PACIFIC 🛰📲 Satellite direct-to-device (D2D) service, which enables smartphones to connect directly to satellites in areas lacking terrestrial coverage, is expanding rapidly across the Asia Pacific region. The region’s first carrier-run nationwide satellite texting service launched with New Zealand’s One NZ in December 2024. By mid-2026, six Starlink-based commercial services operated across four markets: One NZ, Telstra (Australia), KDDI/SoftBank/NTT Docomo (Japan), and Globe (Philippines, launched June 2026) Australia and New Zealand showed the highest activity. Detected users averaged 25.7 and 23.0 scans per month (Jan–Jun 2026)—near daily contact. Usage rose through the southern warm season (peaking in April) and fell in winter, reflecting outdoor recreation and remote work in coverage gaps. These levels far exceed denser markets like the UK (~4 scans/month) and match Canada’s high reliance. Philippines held the region’s largest detected D2D base (64% in Q2 2026), with activity detected from January 2026—months before commercial launch. Pre-launch growth reflected testing and opportunistic registrations. Population scale and disaster needs (e.g., earthquakes, ~20 tropical cyclones yearly) drive demand; Globe offered free access during a June 2026 Mindanao quake. Per-capita and frequency of use remained lower than Australia’s. Japan has the broadest free access (three operators) yet lowest sustained use. Detected base in June 2026 was about half its July 2025 level; users averaged only 7.6 scans/month. High urbanization and >99.9% population terrestrial coverage limit exposure to gaps. Operator figures (e.g., Docomo’s 5 million connected users) are higher but measure one-time connections across iOS/Android. Services function mainly as retention tools.
