I am sorry for your mum, but sadly not surprised - I have nothing but billing issues with Telstra. They always want us to pay first and then they’ll sort it out.

Will G (@willgotsis) reported@Gatty54 Same thing happened to us few years ago. Telstra, JB Hi-Fi, lucky it was all at like 3am and our bank put a hold on our card (debit card). We found out it was a girl in reception at a hotel we paid for. We confirmed details with her of card over phone. Never again. Ours was $9K.

kane (@kanethesaint) reported@eevblog If you turn on Data Roaming when in Vodafone, in areas where there is poor coverage, it will connect to an Optus tower to fill the gap. This only works for Vodafone and not Optus or Telstra.
