  @Telstra Nope just complete loss of 5G. I guess the venue is in East Perth so it's probably that. Any ETA on fix? Seems sporadic

  @MichaelRuyg i had to get starlink service for power outages to maintain some ability to contact emergency services if needed. i have backup power. mad not to in a bushfire and flood prone area, sadly nbn co, optus, vodafone and telstra are clearly incompetent.

Telstra launched Australia’s first satellite texting product in early June 2025. One NZ added app data, including WhatsApp voice calls, in February 2026. Globe became the latest in the sequence in June 2026 with the Philippines’ first commercial satellite-to-mobile permit from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
