  @knightd73 @Telstra @ShaneLove_Moore They normally have pretty good battery backup. Haven’t had an issue with other power outages. Could be another issue but just assuming batteries are empty

Complex systems this large will fail occasionally. That’s not a defence of Telstra; it’s reality. The real issue is how dependent we’ve become on a single network. Any critical service, business, or individual relying on it should have a dual-network backup (another provider, satellite, or dedicated failover) ready to kick in. Blaming Telstra alone misses the point — build resilience into what matters. Don't blame Telstra,blame yourself for not preparing for the possibility of failure.

  @daytona7th @tim_blee Lol yes good thinking, and we keep a ‘burner sim’ at our food truck in case Telstra goes down, but then sometimes it’s the actual till system that goes down ie ‘Square’ and then it’s ’offline payments’ which doesn’t work for tapping with phones anyway 🫪

  @TimLooker @ABCaustralia I used to work in Telcos. Even in the UK, Telstra was considered the gold standard, If you had traffic problems and could re-route calls over Telstra, it was a no-brainer. It should never have been privatized. Just like Qantas!
