  @JacintaAllanMP Simple solution do not rely on digital technology without having options in place if it fail! Telstra failure destroyed VLine why are radios not in every train outside of metro metropolitan? Do not rely on telcos network testing it lags regularly in the bush as it is!

  It was all the go in the 1980s to make up for the inflation created by the Vietnam War and the abrupt increase in oil prices. That’s when we got the economic rationalists - tax cuts for the rich, razor gangs for everyone else. Welfare and public service cuts, deregulation of banks and privatisation. Back story is interesting - same folks at work behind the scenes. Yes, GDP went up, but wealth only flowed to the top end. At least Labor under pressure, only semi privatised Telstra and retained controlling shares. Qantas was different. Comm Bank should have at least mostly stayed public -my Mum only had a chance at getting a house because of it, but if we add in subsidies and failures, it has largely cost taxpayers far more and not just financially.

  Maybe a $30Million Fine might make Telstra take it's Corporate responsibility more serious. $30 Thousand Server replacement/ $30 Million Fine shareholders might assume is a No Brainer when it comes down to Common Sense.decisions.

  @peterke60628957 @FetchStep Telstra is a privatised cash cow. The executives see their job as maximising shareholder returns. Cheaper to fix/replace after it breaks rather than expensive preventative maintenance or eliminating all single points of failure. Profit first, customers last, every single time.

  @SkyNewsAust Are @Telstra suggesting that all 3 network time servers were/are hosted in the same physical chassis? Seems fundamentally flawed? Also, do they not continually scan for vulnerabilities and end of service? @sarahinthesen8 something sounds fishy.

  @CoaltrainHunter @AnikaWells She's trying to playoff negative public sentimate at Telstra by coming across as someone authoritarian. She doesn't know much, she did say just use wi-fi calling during the outage.
