Is it legal for Aussie telcos to only take you on as a customer if you agree to pay via direct debit only? Or not let you upgrade as a customer of 20+ years unless you agree to direct debits? @Optus @Telstra #vodaphone?????

@r_quazzy @RonniSalt and whats even more amazing - I agree with her! Telstra, the biggest player, should not swallow TPG - the 3rd biggest - whole. Its terrible for competition in a sector where competition is already compromised.

@katiekoalasays @Telstra Is there a reason you need Telstra? I use TPG for all our phones, sim only it's $25 (half for first 6 months) and you get all your calls and texts plus 25gb data. Their most expensive is $40 pm and that has 60gb data. It's also month to month, cancel any time you like.

@MichaelPascoe01 Thousands of jobs lost. Major deterioration in service standards. It has all the hallmarks of policy failure. It’s been disastrous for Telstra. Probably much the same for Qantas. Even corporatisation is a convenient way of moving a service off the Govt books. TI

@Telstra No. But when I use the support site to check if the device is protected it says yes on multiple devices (android and iOS). They aren't even weird sites, one is a jewellery site for instance, or I can't use the Twitter app on wifi but can't on 5g. I've rebooted modems and booster
