Went into the shop and with Tiffany’s very patient help paid the outstanding $164. That was over 6 hours ago. Still can’t make calls or send texts. I’m one of the few Telstra fans out here but this is a bit baffling (I take full responsibility for the initial bill problem)

Strange problem that needed fixing. I was overdue paying my bill due to direct debit/change of details shenanigans. Telstra shut my phone down to the degree that I couldn’t open the Telstra app to see if it was my bill or my online banking so I could pay anything

@jasonandrade @boostmobile There are numerous retailers that sell excess/non-priority bandwidth from the companies that have a cellular network here e.g. Telstra, Optus, Voda TPG. Those three networks all have 5G radio equipment and might test it and even provide it, without it being mentioned in your plan

Why is dealing with @Telstra help so painful? They just kept repeating the same instruction over and over like it would magically fix the problem.

So, I went to the closest Telstra shop to try to work out my contract issue - THEY WERE CLOSED. Their website said they were open, Google said they were open. There were people working inside the store. Door however was entirely shut up. Grr.

@Telstra Seems this was related to a massive influx of people at burwood park because of the moon festival event. I believe Telstra was meant to setup a portable tower to prevent network overload.

@Telstra looks to be an outage around 2134, multiple providers not getting internet via 4g/5g
