I don’t like to admit it, but I was wrong. I thought @auspost had the worst customer service. Then the nation’s largest telco @telstra, said “hold my beer” - try Telstra shops like Belmont WA. It is chaos. If you need to go to a T shop, take a cut lunch and a drink. TI #awful

@kels_316 @Telstra Try dealing with Qantas. They are next level bad.

If you thought Telstra couldn't be any more dismissive of its customers, check out this response: "Our phone options are limited at this time. Can you tell me what happened when you chatted with them?" No the auto-support was useless, I need a phone number!

@Telstra I sent an email via my login about a month ago to Telstra support but I haven’t received feedback.

@bantambaby @Telstra Hi Suzie. Login to the modem by opening a browser, type in the address 10.0.0.138. Click on advanced settings. Depending on the modem (mine is a Speedtouch) there should be reboot or restart function. If all that is too hard, switch off PowerPoint. Then turn back on. TI

@Telstra It’s 4G is in camp which is great as most mobile usage is there. On site it drops to 3G regularly but the service is reasonably good. Some poor areas but you can make calls confident in the reception.

@TexanMeg @Telstra @Optus Do it! I haven’t really had any issues so far on my regional trips since switching over. The places where it cuts out don’t seem to work for Don either, who is on Telstra.

Carlton played at Telstra Dome in 2007 with Optus as their sponsor on their guernsey so no problem at all with Optus Stadium for the GF

  • stumain22
Stuart Main (@stumain22) reported from Westfield, Western Australia

@PatrickGormanMP @acccgovau They are all dodgy. I used to work at Telstra and the way they would train you to sell products was usually not in the customers best interest. Top down sales tactics usually the go to. Optus are guilty of the same tactics as they tried to rip me off as well

  • 13simonsays

@Telstra just me again thank you ever so much for your poor customer service

  • culinarytrip
Julie Carter (@culinarytrip) reported from Westfield, Western Australia

@Telstra so fed up. I have spent hours on the phone & yr chat service querying bills over last 2 months. Last straw. You did not direct debit my last bill due to your technical glitch. U had no idea why. Now I have been charged another late fee by Meg Bonighton.

  • saintxis
I'm Lexo (@saintxis) reported from Westfield, Western Australia

@VodafoneAU seriously what's wrong with your NBN speed! I meant to have 100mbs and I'm getting 45mbs, trying to watch TV and it's impossible cause keeps stopping, loading and crap quality, I never experienced this with @Telstra being honest 😒😒😒😒😒😒

  • kelvinrsmith

@Telstra I cannot get help on receiving additional wifi boosters, which I have paid for already....your support staff keep running me through trying to reboot modems & change settings, without listening to what I am saying....& then it gets handed to someone else who starts again

  • mallottk

I'm an #Optus customer, so if a hacker now has my #Optus email address, all I have to do is change to Telstra, or other Server and voila...one problem is solved! 🙌🙌🙌

  • tonytau101

@FetchStep @davidbewart @MichaelWestBiz Ummh it's actually the other way around. Telstra sold down its interest in Foxtel to 35%. News Corp now own 65% of the business. What's telling is that Telstra has a huge bucket of money & they're not stumping up any for Foxtel. TI #Redink

  • unenergy
💧🍺🍩B Digby Bamford🍩🍺 (@unenergy) reported from Westfield, Western Australia

@adamajacoby They've never had to. Look up postmaster general. Free delivery for their papers. Then Howard gave Rupert monopoly access to Telstra for Foxtel. Maggie gave him control of BSkyB. Ronnie helped him buy Fox on the cheap. Taxpayers were Murdoch's Venture Capitalists.

  • cory_gale

@ausgov Haven’t received this one yet as an @Optus customer. Did get it on my work phone 12 hours ago, which is @Telstra (urgh, Telstra 🤢)

  • SebRechichi

@Telstra why has mobile service in and around Dianella dropped? I’m lucky to have 1 bar on 4G but then reverts to 2 bars on 3G!

@Mr_Fanta_Pants @Telstra Ok, still sounds like Starlink on standby is the best solution, cheap, enough data for phone calls, set up a SIP service with Siptalk for her and at least she gets what she wants.

  • muskonomy
    Muskonomy (@muskonomy) reported

NEWS: Telstra and TPG push Australian government for competitive spectrum auctions despite SpaceX warning Australian mobile carriers Telstra and TPG Telecom have urged the government to go ahead with open, competitive auctions for spectrum licences used for mobile and satellite mobile services, even after SpaceX warned it would withhold Starlink satellite mobile service in Australia if it isn’t given priority access to key wireless spectrum. SpaceX has made it clear that its satellite-to-mobile network (Starlink Direct to Cell) needs guaranteed access to Australia’s wireless airwaves to launch its full services — including voice and data for phones directly from satellites. But Telstra and TPG argue that giving one provider priority access risks limiting competition and could lock in high prices for consumers. A TPG spokesperson said competitive auctions are important because market concentration is a real risk if policy settings favour a single operator. They stressed Australia should encourage multiple satellite providers and business models, not entrench dominance by any one company, whether traditional mobile or satellite-based. Telstra and TPG’s stance comes amid broader debate about how Australia will manage spectrum — a critical resource that carries all mobile voice, text and data traffic. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has been consulting on future spectrum licences and how to allocate them fairly as older licences expire and new services are developed. Telstra itself has been active in satellite-mobile tech, testing and rolling out basic satellite messaging in Australia using SpaceX’s Direct to Cell system, but carriers say full commercial services must not be tied to exclusive spectrum access for one provider.

  • mayuuuuuuuu_26
    Mayura (@mayuuuuuuuu_26) reported

@Jason______A @the_don1722 The difference will be the level of support you get etc. have similar setups here where telstra (t mobile in Aus) own budget mobile companies. And you get pretty much the same package for much cheaper but lose access to their support etc.

@markbouris "no national debt .. yep zero" because he sold over $70 billion in public assets to pay down government debt, with major privatizations including Telstra (approx. 49% in 97-99), the remaining Commonwealth Bank shares, all major federal airports, and the National Rail Corporation.

  • diss_presso

@BrowntownBrew @robb_j_m In some cases. They would pay Telstra to use the pits, or Telstra itself would install fibre. This is an issue all over the world. We’re simply trading one monopoly (Telstra) for another (NBN). But there’s nothing to stop another company in theory from running their own fibre in dense areas - but not now of course, as they wouldn’t be allowed to undercut the NBN (hence the stupid NBN has actually made it so internet cannot be cheaper than how much they say it should be - law of unintended consequences - now the law is literally making cheap internet illegal).
