  @NBN_Australia is a joke. For the 2nd time in 2 wks my connection is down - their fault. They can't come out to fix it till next Monday! If I can find a reputable @STARLINK installer in my regional area, I'd be thankful (Jervis Bay NSW). I'm past climbing on roofs these days. Any recommentations? My @telstra hot spotting is the pits.

  @SkullSpeedDeal A family member of mine over a decade ago ran a Telstra phone store, it became top 3 in the entire state because of his leadership. Anyway, something happened, and he told me the 2nd in charge (Indian) backstabbed him and took over the main position. A year later, the store had hired a lot of Indians and ended up being the worst store in the state lol

  @Irideia @innovationcncl Cyrus One, Cyxtera, Telstra, Navisite, Databank, Equinix, you will routinely find customers on site visiting their cages. You show ID, you get a biometric scan, you get escorted to your cage, they hand you your key, you go do what you need to do. And this is not one or two racks, it might be 3,000 square feet of floor space just for your estate, with another cage for your standby equipment. And you're not the only customer there. for certain things you can put in a remote hands ticket and have one of the DC technicians do a bunch of tasks for a fee. For certain things this is expensive, so you send your own staff. And that doesn't even take into consideration people leasing hardware, who are still allowed to go on site and do maintenance. I've been in DC's everywhere on the planet save continental East Asia and Antarctica. Your limited experience is not reflective of reality. You may think AWS and GCP are the only DCs in existence, but that's your own ignorance. If you think companies like cloudflare own the physical plant you have a lot of **** to learn. wind your ******* neck in.

  With all the massive profits that @Telstra are making, it’s about time they use some to improve their network coverage in areas other than big cities. Rural & regional areas all seem to share the one tower. Some even have to drive a kilometre to get service for a call.

Here is what actually moved markets this week 🧵👇 2/10 First, the big picture: US inflation cooled to 3.4%, sending the S&P 500 to another record close above 7,798. Back home, the RBA held the cash rate steady at 4.35% for the fourth meeting in a row. Markets got the inflation numbers they wanted. Local reporting season, however, told a much more complicated story. 3/10 Commonwealth Bank delivered a massive $10.98 billion cash profit, with a full-year dividend of $5.05 per share. On paper, it looks like business as usual for Australia’s biggest lender. Under the hood, the pipeline tells a very different story. 4/10 CBA CEO Matt Comyn revealed mortgage applications dropped roughly 17% following the May federal budget tax changes on property investors. Cleanaway Waste Management surged 15% after global private equity giant EQT dropped a $9.4 billion takeover bid at $3.13 a share. That is a 32% premium.
