Owen Minogue (@owen_minogue) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@Optus went into your Nothcote store today for assistance and was told my particular photo ID proof of age card is no longer a valid for of ID and they couldn’t assist me with an upgrade of service even though I’ve been a customer for years!
-
Nick Wong AU/MEL (@methylnick) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@AntoBeck @Optus Damn. I did not get this. 😭
-
Matt (@supremeturnip) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@Optus My expectations you would help were low. Mainly posted as a warning to potential new customers of Optus so they know to stay away. In the absence of your helping in the multiple avenues of inquiry I’ll be passing to the TIO (since this includes potential over billing for 2 years)
-
𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚛𝚕𝚘.𝚜𝚙𝚊𝚌e (@stirlospace) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@cameronwilson Also v handy for checking “does X network actually provide service where I’m at /. Work or live?” Without having to sign a contract or >1 month typically. Where I’m at in aus Telstra and Vodafone seem to be the best combo, Optus just does NOT work. At all, YMMV etc
-
Juls Torres (@julieptorres21) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@Optus The fault persists for more than 2 hours in the NBN service.
-
@kelseyvh (@kelseyvh) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaHey @Optus I’m having nbn service issues. Your online messaging service is not responding. You network status page says “under investigation” and has said that for three days. I’ve sent you a DM but no response there either.

-
Adam Jobbins (@ajobbins) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@seemsforever Yeah, I've been the information risk owner of large, externally facing systems like this and it's the nightmare situation. But reading how the hack was done, it's crazy that Optus didn't know about this vulnerability, or if they did and didn't fix it....😬
-
Adam Gemmell (@raymond3020) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@optus nbn cable offline. Can’t contact you at all via chat or technical difficulties. #fail #optusfail
-
Shane Bryan (@ShaneBryan_IT) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaI think better wording is needed for the #optus incident. My understanding is that it wasn’t a hack, it wasn’t a breach, nor an attack & that the data was leaked through incompetence. I’m still reading articles about it mentioning terms such as “firewall” in ways implying a hack.

ANDERSON & SONS ©️ (@Anderson_Neath) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaOPTUS !! Yes ! Tech inability problems / outage playing havoc with submitting Tax Form. !! — Back to basics 📑 #AS #ato 🎩
-
Time Traveller then/now (@PetraElliott) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@davenlamb Yep. Same wording. Granted i haven’t been a customer of optus in just shy of 20 years. So I wouldn’t be on a current mailing list. But my date of birth and phone number hasn’t changed in that time and I obviously can’t change/get a new DOB. It’s just super poor form overall
-

Baz (@bazhousecat) reported from Melbourne, VictoriaIf we’ve learnt anything from the Optus debacle, it’s that you should never hire Gladys Berejiklian for anything.
-
Tejashree Kangutkar (@DrTejashreeK) reported from Melbourne, Victoria@Optus doesn't protect your data, they lock you in contracts, they don't pay for your passports in an event of #cyberattack, they abandon their customers. I would rather trust a pigeon over @Optus as my service provider of communication #OptusHack #OptusDataBreach

-
Anouk72 (@Anouk724) reported@WesleySouthcott @ScomoCchio No. Optus has had outages too. And their response was just as pathetic as Telstra’s. But the point remains, huge service providers that can cause disrupt/impact nationwide are not held to account in any meaningful or significant way.
-
Peter 🏊🏼🚲🏃🏻 (@Ironman_peter) reported@7NewsBrisbane Why doesn’t 000 have an alternative number as a backup run by? Maybe Optus or Tpg or Vodafone? How does a company or a business run with just one solution? 000 is incompetent.
-
Jarrod (@oneXaday) reportedWith Optus - national outage, price hikes ($45-60 monthly) and spotty, unexplained 4G and 5G city coverage. Decide to jump to Telstra. With Telstra - national outage... Yep.
