  • parslow77 Lliam Parslow (@parslow77) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Watching Liverpool this morning on Optus Miss 12 walks down the hall waking from her slumber and spots the Nike Ad. “Look Dad!, it’s @samkerr1!!”

  • debmberger Deb Berger (@debmberger) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus Thank you. It’s a pity your chat help couldn’t check this. Or at least advise me to look at it. I was asked to reset my phone, remove my SIM card, change various settings. Each of these solutions were suggested multiple times despite advising none of them corrected the issue.

  • LemStar71 Lema Niumata Noel (@LemStar71) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

I’m so disappointed with your service tonight @Optus, chatted with 3 people who disconnected on me 3 times, I just called & the guy said he cldn’t access my details to call back in 2hrs. We haven’t been able to get connection. #nothappy

  • gb7004 greg bradley (@gb7004) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Dear @Optus you are a disgrace, cancel my ADSL as I am signed up to NBN well I would be but still waiting for a modem from you from 10th Oct, rang help desk and Annika CB690949 was going to ring me back in 10/15 minutes 40 minutes.

  • david_odonoghoe David O'Donoghoe (@david_odonoghoe) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

dearest @optus , I phoned you, and asked to be put through to the customer retention team. So far, I have been transferred 4 times, and am now on hold.. after being told that the wait time will be 15 minutes. #optus

  • mycrouch Jason Crouch (@mycrouch) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus Bit hit and miss. If I turn airplane mode on and off it reconnects just fine. I’ve also reset my phones network settings. It’s happened a couple of times today. I’ll monitor it.

  • WhiplashUnited Mickey Dee (@WhiplashUnited) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Can’t even watch a five minute video because .@optus is useless. Worse still it’s NBN.I pay $85 month for a failing service. Rort.

  • davidjfindlay David Findlay (@davidjfindlay) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

Good work @Optus I recommended you to my father, but after buying a SIM he’s spent hours failing to get it activated via your automated customer anti-service system which is apparently designed to thwart victims from getting to speak to a person. Never recommending you again.

  • samf_66 Sam (@samf_66) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia The problem is the techs that are sent won’t check the connection on the street. They change something internally for no good reason and report back that the fault is fixed which it is not. I go back to @Optus and the same process happens again.

  • DanielBox87 Daniel Box 🇬🇧🇦🇺 (@DanielBox87) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@falmouth_wolf Im watching on optus sport, they're just as biased towards city. Never get any credit do little old #wolves

  • gb7004 greg bradley (@gb7004) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus Dear @Optus I havre tried and spent over 15 hours trying to sort this out, including your ‘help’ desk which does nothing, as you can see from the images all you people do is lie

  • brandonlung_ brandon (@brandonlung_) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@lavosaurus Ooh that’s sick! Someone told me to complain about my wifi being shit (Optus as well) and they’ll give me free stuff, so maybe I do both and get all the benefits haha

  • WhiplashUnited Mickey Dee (@WhiplashUnited) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Optus even when you send a new modem I have the same problems. This is just getting ridiculous now.

  • AlexJSmithy Alex Smith (@AlexJSmithy) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Telstra Matthew, thanks for the offer but @Telstra mobile coverage is so poor at my house that extra data is not much use. In fact I have to rely on wificalling to use the mobile. Fortunately our other mobiles are on @Optus which has great coverage.

  • JaseSmith78 Jase Smith (@JaseSmith78) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@GaryNunn1 Aldi mobile uses the Telstra network without the Telstra price... but not sure if it supports things like multi devices or Apple Watch - I put my husband on $35 Optus plan (plus $15 to link iPad and the watch was free for the first year) with 30gb

  • AlexJSmithy Alex Smith (@AlexJSmithy) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@Telstra It has a yargi rooftop antenna. Installer says the issue is alignment of distant cells and jumping from one to other and dropping out. Have 4 bars on Optus.

  • samf_66 Sam (@samf_66) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@NBN_Australia @Optus NBN HFC 6 weeks of daily multiple dropouts. 4 NBN tech visits + 1 Optus & the issue is still not resolved. Optus modem replaced, NTD replaced, F-connectors replaced but tech not permitted to check the connection on the street. Farcical!

  • LesStonehouse Politic@l Spinner (@LesStonehouse) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@FearbySoftware Optus for over 20 years.. Never had a problem.. Fingers crossed

  • GregStonham GregStonham (@GregStonham) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@cathywilcox1 @Optus I hope they're a having a good hard look at themselves after loosing my phone 18 days ago, and refusing me a loan phone, refusing to suspend my network access charges and refusing to replace the original handset, which was still under warranty

  • brandonlung_ brandon (@brandonlung_) reported from Brisbane, State of Queensland

@lavosaurus Oh shit that’s decent! A while back I saw Optus doing a specia that was $40 for 80gb, so that’s what I’m realllly hoping for eventually. Also just realised my plan ends in October so your way might be able to happen sooner than later haha

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • IrinaAsanova1 Irina Asanova (@IrinaAsanova1) reported

@bennpackham So just playing a straight bat but if this has been caused by a crim - or criminal enterprise - can’t Optus just pay them off? That’s what they’re waiting for, isn’t it? In the meantime, can’t Optus re-issue phone numbers to their customers? If the info is a package deal, 1/2

  • RiskyBusinessX9 RiskyBusiness™🌏 (@RiskyBusinessX9) reported

@Optus thanks for nothing, customer for over 10 years and you let hackers get into my/our ID documents... Maybe less focus on brand ambassadors and more focus on a competent Cyber/IT function, what you reckon? #optusfail

  • hardenuppete Glen Schaefer (@hardenuppete) reported

@DrDemography @joshcnicholas Same for me Liz, and I run an IT/Web Hosting business with many Optus customers. Optus have not advised any customers directly yet with exact details of what personal information of theirs was stolen. @Optus customer response to this breach so far has been absolutely appalling!

  • The_Herdsman_77 Chris (@The_Herdsman_77) reported

So according to an email from @optus my name, date of birth, email address, home address and the numbers of my licence and passport have been stolen. But their network and service haven't been compromised, so I feel much better knowing that everything is roses for you🤬🤬

  • SimianCaptain Captain Simian (@SimianCaptain) reported

Let me guess @Optus kept detailed records on past customers who no longer have a relationship with them? It is high time we had right to be forgotten laws like the EU #OptusHack #securitybreach #databreach Epic fail from @Optus and I'm expecting some linkedin profiles to change.

  • naderomg Terminator (@naderomg) reported

@strangerous10 Optus was cyber issue was waiting going happen, unfortunately when Singtel took over IT approx 20 years ago, it all went to ****, they hired friends and not experienced IT staff, Optus IT was a disaster waiting to happen.

  • JamesCoventry3 James Coventry (@JamesCoventry3) reported

Instead of raging at @Optus - just leave. Today. Hit it and it’s Australian management where it will hurt them - patronage. Sub-standard company to deal with, so not surprising its security is just as poor #optusfail

  • JaneDav53269721 Jane Davis (@JaneDav53269721) reported

@bellebelle @Optus I suspect they're trying to figure out a solution/resolution before contacting customers. (i.e what preventative measures taken & a here's a free month worth of data). I feel for you. The reputational damage will be costly in addition the regulatory fines coming their way.

  • neke86_ neke (@neke86_) reported

@SmallCapEagle You need to prove an identity somehow, the problem is their abysmal security and data handling. A loss of this magnitude, in 2022, is inexcusable. We'll see how transparent they are, but I think the monolithic arrangement between Singtel and Optus probably complicated things.

  • CrypticKris CRYPTIC KRIS (@CrypticKris) reported

PA Crypto Twitter: If you don’t know. Optus got popped. IDs, names, addresses, emails and DOB Info leaked of customers. If you use Optus SIM for your mfa on crypto accounts change that ****. Oh and get your crypto off exchanges now more than ever! Stay Security Savy Frens
