Grant Dewberry (@BigunitGrant) reported from Hervey Bay, QueenslandDear @Optus it’s been a good 25 years. But, you’re testing us on our changeover to @NBN_Australia Still no internet & 3 no show tech appointments to connect our FTTC so far. Tired of waiting for a tech who never turns up. Now considering what other options are available to us 😕

Ash 🇦🇺 (@TheInspectorAsh) reported@heidimur This isn’t just about Telstra. We saw similar issues with Optus. If our emergency communications and critical infrastructure are meant to be resilient, why do single network outages continue to have such widespread impacts? It’s time to review whether our redundancy is truly independent, or whether we’re relying on backups that share the same points of failure.

A K (@AK22762976) reported@SkyNewsAust CEO return won't fix the problem - the Engineers are the important focus group whose expertise is critical to restore services [certainly earning their annual salary now -bonuses? "poof!" One imagines Optus satellite services in hot demand
-
Hipstergeddon (@hipstergeddon) reportedTelstra is Down. Had to switch to the backup Optus sim. Yuk.
-
Krakow (@Krakow80492178) reported@AnikaWells Anika Wells has done it again. She let the aged care system down; now she’s let down her new Portfolio Communications. Optus first, now Telstra. She interrupted her holidays l wonder how much taxpayers paid for this holiday.
-
daytona (@daytona7th) reported@tim_blee You would think that if you relied on the mobile network to receive payments then you would have a backup should the particular network fail. Maybe have an Optus or Vodafone SIM card handy or re-route your payment system to the NBN? No sympathy for unprepared businesses.

Pelli69 (@pelli_69) reported@chrissmithonair @optus_support Good luck mate. Optus support is useless. Took me 6 weeks to link internet and mobile account from here in Australia
-
carrygale (@carrygale) reported@normboy562 It is not her fault that Telstra went down. It is not her fault that Optus went down a couple of years ago. It is her fault that she has done **** all in the years between those two outages to solve the problem of 000.
-
Jason White (@JWhite90566) reported@mdtlion She sounds more like a Telstra public relations officer, than the Communications Minister. Maybe she’s grifting for a future job with them. I noticed the little dig she made at Optus by mentioning a previous issue they had had in the past, but totally relevant to today’s issues.

Toobs (@lockie_crash) reported@MickamiousG @Starlink When starlink finally get their mobile plans into Australia Telstra will be done within 2 years...one of Vodafone and Optus will survive as a budget telco, but people won't be paying Telstra prices for dogshit service
-
eddy (@multithreddy) reported@oscarcsims @haydenmalc maybe it'll happen soon since outsourcing RAN management to cheaper vendors is all the rage in the telecom space right now (Spark just outsourced to Nokia, who was the vendor who was partially responsible for the last Optus 000 outage)
