Dear @Optus it’s been a good 25 years. But, you’re testing us on our changeover to @NBN_Australia Still no internet & 3 no show tech appointments to connect our FTTC so far. Tired of waiting for a tech who never turns up. Now considering what other options are available to us 😕

@domknight @Optus The Gov need to fix my gov bugs first.

  • midgeymay 🌼Emily-May🌼 (@midgeymay) reported

Wouldn't be surprised if the #Optus hack occurred earlier than discovered/reported. I had my Centrelink account hacked recently but we never traced back to how my information was stolen at the time.

  • Politicious Politicious (@Politicious) reported

@domknight @Optus Digital ID verification services are available including GreenID etc. the problem is that legislation requires the telco to keep ID on file for various reasons. You can’t verify a person’s identity without those items to validate them. Blood sample and fingerprint good for you?

  • Adlplaneboi Adz W (@Adlplaneboi) reported

@Brodhe I’ve seen multiple TikTok’s of people who are having credit card transactions appear they did not perform. Lots of talk that the breach included financials and Optus is hiding this… I’m not an Optus customer but I don’t think these sorts of messages from banks are a bad thing.

@Danwheels @Optus Sorry about that but 247_CYBERSECURITY_SERVER on Instagram can help you retrieve your account, He did mine successfully.

@eberhardzz @Optus they have so many managers & executives, surely they could help out on the phones

  • webxopt webxopt (@webxopt) reported

@abc730 @ClareONeilMP Yes this was horrendous that Optus left this data relatively unprotected, but the government must take some blame here. Not just because the poor state of cybersecurity laws, but because they require telcos to keep data they don’t actually need (against their own privacy laws).

  • ChequesNBalance cheques 'n balances (@ChequesNBalance) reported

Optus should immediately offer to pay for replacement passports. The data leak is one thing but this slow, plodding response is compounding the stress for impacted customers. #optus #OptusDataBreach #optusbreach

Informed @Optus to remove my direct debit details as I don't feel comfortable having those saved with them.Their reply was it is not possible due to the package I am in and if I have any issues with that, then to move out to another provider.Great handling of customers #OptusHack
