Grant Dewberry (@BigunitGrant) reported from Hervey Bay, QueenslandDear @Optus it’s been a good 25 years. But, you’re testing us on our changeover to @NBN_Australia Still no internet & 3 no show tech appointments to connect our FTTC so far. Tired of waiting for a tech who never turns up. Now considering what other options are available to us 😕

Horrible Lizard (@horriblelizard) reportedisn't this like the third major nationwide outage where "oh **** people couldn't even dial 000" from telstra and optus in like two years
-
Derrick W 💔3/15 (@Vox_Dog) reported@Kate3015 Aussies are being fleeced, these comms companies compared to everywhere else in the world take Aussies to the cleaners. For the entire network to fail would suggest a complete & utter rebuild of Telstra is required urgently, from the very top down. #Telstra #Auspol #Optus

saint_ted (@saint_ted3) reported@jmil400 Where was the communications minister moron? Some one needed to step up and actually test it! Not like the the bungled Optus uggrade where the 000 outage went unnoticed for hours. Smart and proactive! Not something you Labtards would know anything about

Pelli69 (@pelli_69) reported@chrissmithonair @optus_support Good luck mate. Optus support is useless. Took me 6 weeks to link internet and mobile account from here in Australia
-
Cameron Holt (@Strikerminime) reported@Optus are the worst telco on the planet. You’d think that after over 30 years of loyalty they’d be willing to negotiate a compromise and maybe even a little leniency to someone in financial hardship, but no. They don’t care. It’s all about the money. Stay away from @Optus
-
X General (@GerardWilliam16) reported@reidallaboutit9 Problem is the grand final isn’t played at Optus stadium
-
eddy (@multithreddy) reported@oscarcsims @haydenmalc maybe it'll happen soon since outsourcing RAN management to cheaper vendors is all the rage in the telecom space right now (Spark just outsourced to Nokia, who was the vendor who was partially responsible for the last Optus 000 outage)

Casey McGregor (@CaseyMcGregorAu) reported@borisstephens Firstly, taxes do not fund government spending, critical misconception the establishment perpetuates on purpose to justify austerity. Secondly, you're right to say that just throwing money at problems does not automatically fix anything. You still need competent management and a plan. All nationalisation does at a baseline is remove the profit motive that leads to cutting corners on network maintenance to save money, which is what leads in part to outages like this. And I haven't just proposed renationalisation, I've also proposed using Optus' satellite expertise to create a publicly-owned, privacy-first satellite internet network to challenge Starlink.

Ben Nexhip (@ben_nexhip) reported@Cazzawhy @TigerAncient @SenSHenderson It’s also important that an opposition member of parliament can hold an MP accountable and be aware of lack of access to emergency services to the public in which they serve. Remembering what happened to Optus when people died as a result of losing the same access that was lost yesterday.
