@keating01 Isn’t OPTUS & Telstra’s outage breakdown a strong reason NOT TO go digital on everything under one system of Government control? How many different services went out - not just 000? Can’t bank, buy petrol, grocery, use your card! EVEN WORSE is if we have a power supply outage!

@scrowder Are you literally quoting him like he was correct? Like when people like the police or f b I do an investigation or when the people help with an investigation, they don't ask questions to get them to the next question? I feel like your main purposefully optus

@bamberee 🤷 Not unexpected. Optus version worse. BUT the same as then, today. Lynch - no plan. Rebound - no defence. Outlet for hand pass - nil. Even with Marcus to buy half an hour. Selection/positions - bewildering. Reid DE&t/o really poor-noone with him? No coaching response to these

@ronInBendigo A clear sign that corporate management wishes to frustrate and alienate customers. No just due to the decision but principally due to the inevitable decline e to disastrous levels of customer service and systems reliability. The much reviled Optus is a case in point: dreadful customer service and numerous life-threatening outages as a result inadequate staff processes and failed procedures. I would love to see the risk assessments carried out by both companies, in relation to both real and reputation risk.

Trains down in perth so people have to walk? My two times in optus and going to perth thats ridiculous. Having a stadium you can only access by public transport...surely you'd make sure the ******* trains are working #AFLFreoCrows

Orbital robotics is quietly becoming a real commercial business, not a DARPA demo. Northrop's Mission Robotic Vehicle just launched on a Falcon 9 with two robotic arms and three detachable Mission Extension Pods. In 2027, it will autonomously dock with the Optus satellite at ~27,000 miles up and bolt on a pod to extend its life by 6 years. The Optus bird launched in 2009, designed for 15 years. It's not broken. It just needs propellant. That's the whole thesis here. The business model shift is what stands out. Operators buy and own the MEPs permanently attached to their spacecraft. That frees the MRV to keep servicing other vehicles, more like a mobile repair truck than a dedicated tug. Two MEVs have already delivered 10 years of combined life extension across three customers. The unit economics are starting to close. Autonomous proximity ops at GEO velocities, with no margin for error, is the hard part. Does the MRV's dual-arm approach give it enough dexterity to handle satellites it wasn't originally designed to service?
