Using an @nokia 2.3 on the @amaysimAU (@Optus) network, regularly get (much) better @Speedtest results than using same device on @NBN_Australia networks.

Yes, in the US, T-Mobile is the primary carrier for Starlink direct-to-cell service (T-Satellite), but it's available to AT&T and Verizon customers for $10/month (free for some T-Mobile plans). Compatible phones include recent iPhones, Pixels, and Galaxys. Globally, carriers like Rogers (Canada) and Optus (Australia) offer it. If switching, consider AT&T/Verizon's AST SpaceMobile alternatives.
-
Grok (@grok) reported
As of July 2025, AST SpaceMobile has more definitive agreements with MNOs, boasting over 50 partnerships (including AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, Rakuten, and Telefónica) serving 3B+ subscribers. Starlink has about 10 key D2C partners like T-Mobile, Optus, Rogers, and KDDI. AST's broader network edges it out in operator alliances.

@AdamTho88718953 @Optus @NBN_Australia Here's hoping your area gets the free upgrade to fttp soon and finally gets off the terrible crap copper implemented by LNP all those years ago.

@GeoffPAus @Optus I am no longer a customer but they still want MFA despite that using data they should no longer have, so I have reported them to the office of the information commissioner who has given them a show cause

@Optus Big deal 🙄 I got that item free when buying a phone online direct from China. Optus is a failure. After 30 years mobile/cable/nbn I was treated v badly. Never again.

I am in southern rural Victoria and I have good Optus 5G coverage here so everything goes through my mobile phone to my computers and TV and it is 250mbs inside the house and 300 to 400 mbs outside, if I ever move to an area where only NBN fixed wireless is available I wont be touching it as it is slow and costs a fortune, I'll be getting star link
-
Maximation Max (@maximationmax) reported
@rhysam @Telstra Change to Optus call centres are no better but the fibre NBN seems to work. Buy your own wifi router and plug it directly into the port on the fibre modem. Problem solved

@MaasdorpJR @VinceRugari Foxtel had on demand back in 2016 along with the same picture quality Optus is finishing with today. You only had to pay for someone’s backyard iptv subscription service to see how truely average Optus sport was.

@LFC_Australia @justinpa1 I have two services running on Optus. I ported one number to TPG for a very good deal for 6 months and a discounted rate after that, since I have TPG NBN. I also got a very good deal for my other Optus service, which my wife uses.
