@Optus Hi Aman, I've gone in circles negotiating with Optus on social media, PM, E-Mail, Phone Calls, Store Visits. I've had dozens of CRT tickets raised. @Optus refuses to help me, nor respond to the TIO in a timely fashion... Please ask Ms. Kahla Bowdidge (?) about this matter...?

  • Natski82 ✨ Miss Natski ✨ (@Natski82) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Jane_L_Kennedy @Telstra And of course he believed it, afterall, the people at telstra told him the NBN called. 6 hours they kept him on the phone and ended up costing my dad $19,000. Absolutely ridiculous and when he called telstra, they didn't give a ****. Switched to optus. Safer /3

  • Stanleysmum1 Stanleysmum (Sharon) (@Stanleysmum1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Have to go in store to fix bank details they entered wrongly. Store can't fix as no ability to unblock acc. I give up. Time to start again with Optus and lodge a complaint. How do they get away with this constantly

So it’s now 3 months since I started my ‘relocation’ with @Optus who keep pointing to @NBN_Australia and vice-versa. We are broadband ready but not recognised. Surely @kbrspace we can do better to help a loyal customer move to a new home. Asking for help and assistance #Moving

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • NewtonMark Mark Newton (@NewtonMark) reported

@oferzelig This isn’t even a case of missing protection or enabling social engineering; Optus took proactive steps to negligently place their customer database on their public-facing website, then got their nose out of joint when someone downloaded it.

  • RowdyAndTed Rowdy and Ted (@RowdyAndTed) reported

@AndrewBGreene @David_Speers @Optus The reforms don’t help us who had our info stolen. I’m not even a current customer, yet have had my details involved. We need new licence & passport numbers. The govt needs to make this a priority to help us & make Optus pay

  • AndrewJame5 Andrew James (@AndrewJame5) reported

@lavosaurus Apparently it was just an open link on the internet that someone found and managed to scrape all customer data from api dot Optus dot com dot au (now removed). So it wasn't some state-sponsored group like Lazarus, it was probably some kid who poked around.

  • ktxby rkc (@ktxby) reported

@SenatorWong is there any way @dfat could just issue new passports for everyone affected by the @optus data breach, rather than a couple of million people applying? (Optus should pay of course.)

  • molma69 Captain Happy (@molma69) reported

I have not been a customer at optus for over 3 years. Why do they still have all my personal details on their systems? #OptusHack

  • camtraveller camtraveller🇭🇰 🇹🇼 (@camtraveller) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk Thanks for your reporting on this. I am one of the customers with the ‘heightened risk’ and It’s a real shame that I have to get this information from you an not Optus. Optus seems to have gone into hiding at the worst possible time. Terrible communication.

  • crimsonartist LadyInTheStudio (@crimsonartist) reported

@emmaandollie @Optus Got mine then next day got my bill. Just one more world upside down moment. I feel pretty concerned about my ID being sold. Probably my passport.

  • virgotweet Stuart Tomlinson (@virgotweet) reported

Optus has arranged for an NBN technician to come next week to fix our NBN .

  • OstNa CrisaA (@OstNa) reported

@Foilalan_ @Optus It actually says “as a former customer” if you bothered to read it

  • niall_bigscreen Niall Ginsbourg (@niall_bigscreen) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk I seriously doubt that the person conducting the extortion is actually the first bad actor to access this information en masse, likely they are just the first to publicly demand a payment. I'd like to see #Optus disclose just how long this gaping security hole has been there.
