@Optus please fix your customer service. Spent 30 mins on the phone, interrupting my dinner, with one of your customer service advisors in India. Got nowhere. Please fix. #optusareawful

@Optus Disappointing that 5G not working this morning - two dropouts then stopped. Murrumbeena Tower.

  • lesposen lesposen (@lesposen) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

I’m about 1km south of an @Optus 5G service. I have no 3G/4G service I can rely on currently so have to use wifi calling. NBN or Optus router goes down weekly so I’m left on a desert island. iPhone 12 with 5G comes in November. Here’s hoping 5G will arrive by then #gamechanger

  • stokers26 stokers (@stokers26) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Nice work @optus. Tried your call back service which disconnected me both times.the second one was after being put on hold for 3 minutes. I stayed on hold and got connected on my 3rd attempt. Quality service!

  • fionashirley76 Fiona Shirley (@fionashirley76) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Really @optus .. again!! 😩 on live chat trying to sort out whether I can upgrade or get some sort of incentive to stay with you due to lack of service & was told I’m being transferred to someone who can help .. that was 15 min ago and no one has replied to messages sent since!

  • asteroidproject Damian Marley🚀 (@asteroidproject) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus you are just as bad. Tried connecting via you but you cancelled order 4 times, hence trying Telstra again.

  • NavalGeekSingh Navaldeep Singh (@NavalGeekSingh) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

    @Optus is worst than the @reliancejio .

  • j_foreigner jonnyforeigner (@j_foreigner) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Optus are currently paying ~$50m/year for the EPL streaming rights and charge $15/month to subscribers. Now not everyone pays that fee (I never have), but let’s assume that every mobile customer’s monthly bill has that subscription built in and funds go towards content

  • Uberstooks Amber [HGG] (@Uberstooks) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

4 drop outs in service with @Optus NBN in the space of an hour. Even with a new modem installed last night. If this continues throughout today, I’ll be disconnecting my service, without penalties and moving to another provider.

  • juleshughan Julia Hughan (@juleshughan) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Just signed a 24 month contract. My @Optus coverage has been down for most of the day. Awesome $70 spent on service being down and false promises of data usage.

  • Cruiizin Cruiizin (@Cruiizin) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia down at the new place, now the dreaded one hour call with @Optus

  • cindyn *Cindy N* 🤔 (@cindyn) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus my iPhone XR is repeatedly dropping out and telling me there is no SIM installed. This is happening all over Melbourne. I was on a call with a recruiter on Monday and it cut out 6 times in 10mins. Others can’t get through at all - tells them I’m not available. Help!

  • sportpaul Paul Walsh (@sportpaul) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus and @NBN_Australia are a disgrace! WiFi is down, I was told to be home between 8-12 for a tech visit. 3 pm still no one. I call @optus ‘Oh yeah, probably won’t happen today!’ HOPELESS!! #optu5g #NBN #Christmas #wtfock #optusfail #lmreallypissed

  • juleshughan Julia Hughan (@juleshughan) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Infrastructure issues. Good to know we are still being charged for videos that won’t render.

  • DavoGunner Davo (@DavoGunner) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Optus your buffering is very poor. Consistent buffering and delays. Seriously considering to cancel my long term contract. After 2-3 odd years nothing has changed. @OptusSport

  • cptwoodsy Tristan 🌱 (@cptwoodsy) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus yesterday while at work at the Dandenong south site, I and half the factory had very poor service. Turns out you are working on a tower near us. Til December. Do we have to deal with this til then cos it’s really affecting my job!

  • _domchantal Domonique (@_domchantal) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

  • ServiceNSW Service NSW (@ServiceNSW) reported

@thoughtofsaying Hi thoughtofsaying, ID Support NSW is working with Optus to support customers with NSW government-issued credentials, such as a NSW driver licence or birth certificate, if they have been impacted. 1/2

  • HensherMartin Martin Hensher (@HensherMartin) reported

@RNBreakfast pretty obvious short term remedy for Optus- they should be compelled to reimburse the costs for every customer to replace their drivers license and passport.

  • Meztino MAN U / BENFICA / FLAMENGO (@Meztino) reported

But most “important to know that Optus’ network and Optus services including mobile and home Wi-Fi aren’t affected, and no passwords were compromised, so our services remain safe to use and operate as per normal.” I couldn’t give a fck about your network!

  • patrickmougin Patrick Mougin 🇪🇺🇦🇺🇫🇷 (@patrickmougin) reported

@kcarruthers @Optus I keep reading new news on this with ever increasing horror… I can only say I’m glad I never had Optus for any of my telco products when I was back home in Oz…

  • bronwynstuart Bronwyn Stuart (@bronwynstuart) reported

@baxters @Optus They'll likely offer people bill credits which won't help those no longer with them. The whole thing is a t!cking t!me b@mb

  • Writeobsessed Cheryl Cooper 🇦🇺😷 (@Writeobsessed) reported

@RealTimFerguson @IBSimmo Hey Tim, my auto payment was immediately reversed out. I didn’t do it. Could the hackers have set this up? What does it mean to Optus if all direct debits fail??

  • RadioPhysician Lousy_cricketer (@RadioPhysician) reported

@_davidlimbrick Well done. You've somehow twisted the Optus hack (under the federal LNP watch) into an argument to support crazy cooker logic.

  • isaacfloyd13 🐀😷Isaac Floyd💉X4🐀 (@isaacfloyd13) reported

@AussiewitchT @BethanyinCBR @EdwardJWHunter I believe the hackers that did over Optus can help anyone out with that particular task.

  • tevedya Tevedya Fiasco (@tevedya) reported

Can we see how actually @Optus was hacked? E.g. what was the mechanism to obtain the customer's data?
