Hey @Optus I moved house today and notwithstanding 3 weeks notice - guess what - no internet connection at my new house - and btw your “customer service” sucks - just time wasting useless conversations- how does a very long term loyal customer speak to someone who might fix this?

@RonniSalt @Catharz @Optus Correct, RS It wasn't a hack Customer details weren't even password protected! 'Something, something, class action suit..' Oh, & pin it on SingTel They own it.

@redruby17 @joshgnosis My conclusion is my info is included in what’s been stolen but the source documents may be different for each customer depending on what they gave Optus as identifying docs when they opened their account.

Authorities are suggesting that due to the grammar errors in the #Optus hackers demands he/she is from a non English speaking background…..if they’re going by bad grammar I’d be looking at a Queenslander!

  • pigironman1 pig iron man (@pigironman1) reported

@samanthamaiden Optus is valued at between $8-12 billion. The hackers were only asking for $1 million? This whole saga is turning into a comedy of errors...

  • BLShiv 💧Shiv 😷 (@BLShiv) reported

@smh @TimBiggs Summary: basically nothing. The Govt and all lending agencies etc have to sharpen their systems ID checks and user data processes. Otherwise worst case scenario data breaches like Optus can be used to abuse your ID for financial gain.
