  • simoncha_n Simon Chan (@simoncha_n) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@timburrowes Most email services that Optus would be using or have the ability to use can easily handle that volume of emails. Amazon Web Services sells SES (Simple Email Service) that is very cheap and scales considerably.

  • stillupsocut Andy Marsh (@stillupsocut) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@Optus I had two wireless broadband plans and as soon as I terminate one my speeds slow to under 1mb/s. Been two weeks with no solution from your tech support.

  • JesMullins Jessicah Mullins (@JesMullins) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

A week later and still no resolution. Just infuriating comments from people on the Optus messaging service who have clearly not read the case notes. @Optus you need to fix this…

  • AmandaWorldwide Amanda Valentina💋 (@AmandaWorldwide) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Nothing like spending your spare time in an @Optus store because the customer service call centre are so inefficient & haven’t cancelled two numbers, one dating back to October 2017, despite being asked to on more than 2 occasions. $120 p/m charges need to be reimbursed, too.

  • Tikkaspecial Steve Smith (@Tikkaspecial) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@Optus NBN down this morning. Website reports no issues at 2911.

  • Colincopeland2 Col Copeland (@Colincopeland2) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

  • _manin_black_ Gay Rainbow Anarchist 🔻🌈 🅰️ (@_manin_black_) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@joshgnosis They haven't told me ****. I'm an ex-Virgin customer & current Optus customer & I haven't received any email or text from Optus. Have I avoided having my data revealed or has Optus ****** up on this as well?

  • JayJayK75 50ShadesofJay (@JayJayK75) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@allaningleton @Optus Surely someone working there would see how completely stupid that is and take it back, complete crooks mate, phone company’s these days are a nightmare to deal with

@djp1974 I feel you - being similarly blighted on the Optus network

  • simoncha_n Simon Chan (@simoncha_n) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@somethingshort @LinkedInAU It’s about blaming your @Optus teammates for piss poor security efforts.

  • thesiswhisperer Prof Inger Mewburn (@thesiswhisperer) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

So, @Optus put up my phone bill because 'inflation', but has done nothing about my complaint about having no coverage many times over the past 4 months. I guess it's back to @Telstra for me, but I don't hold out much hope it will be better. Duopolies suck.

  • refjess Jess the Referee (@refjess) reported from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

@NJGalea @Optus I had so many problems with them when I signed up. Never again. I'll take my chances with the clowns at Telstra rather than this mob again.

  • scottjla Scott (@scottjla) reported

@bentsolutionsau @ripcripz @jasonjordan I think any Optus customers should be allowed to cancel their contracts, due to Optus showing they don't handle data correctly, as it's not a fix they can do overnight. Customers will continue to be at risk.

  • IanHRidgwell Ian Ridgwell (@IanHRidgwell) reported

@travishoughton @danilic The answer would normally be yes but your alternatives arent much better. The problem is systemic, the gvernment is making a lot of noise about optus being held accountable because the data retention requirements mean this will keep happening.

  • ServiceNSW Service NSW (@ServiceNSW) reported

@ARealJourno Hi @ARealJourno, ID Support NSW is working with Optus to support customers with NSW government-issued credentials, such as a NSW driver licence or birth certificate, if they have been impacted. 1/2

  • troyhunt Troy Hunt (@troyhunt) reported

@NoProfitLove Short of Optus sending comms to all registered contact points (phone, email, snail mail), I suspect many customers will never know

  • NessaJ89 Vanessa (@NessaJ89) reported

Do I have to change my license & etc due this stupid @Optus security breach? 🤬

  • devalara44 Never be bullied into silence, speak your truth. (@devalara44) reported

Ha ha Karen Andrews, the other crumb maiden, says Labor to slow to act on Optus data spew, her govt did nothing, nada, zip after the NDIS data breach!

  • viakuttabul 💧Mary Goring (@viakuttabul) reported

@ACTINOSProject @drvyom @Optus Hahaha that would take Optus staff away from their real business of fleecing customers to provide a substandard service...

  • rima_zabaneh RZ (@rima_zabaneh) reported

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I’m still under contract with Optus for another 15 months, they did not keep their side of the deal by keeping my info safe, why should I keep my end of the deal. Also I moved recently to Optus because of the shocking service I had with Telstra. Can’t win

  • kahmelb Kathryn **** (@kahmelb) reported

@tanner_lian @Optus And a data retention problem. I presume they had the data because they collect all the ID for opening accounts etc. And they probs keep it because it's too much work to store, manage and dispose of it properly. Is my guess, anyway
