A week later and still no resolution. Just infuriating comments from people on the Optus messaging service who have clearly not read the case notes. @Optus you need to fix this…

So, @Optus put up my phone bill because 'inflation', but has done nothing about my complaint about having no coverage many times over the past 4 months. I guess it's back to @Telstra for me, but I don't hold out much hope it will be better. Duopolies suck.

@NJGalea @Optus I had so many problems with them when I signed up. Never again. I'll take my chances with the clowns at Telstra rather than this mob again.

@Optus I had two wireless broadband plans and as soon as I terminate one my speeds slow to under 1mb/s. Been two weeks with no solution from your tech support.

@yodaberg @Optus I’ve had alot of problems with them lately & the only thing that worked was going into a store. Chat is probably the next most helpful & you can get a transcript of what they’ve promised to action.

Nothing like spending your spare time in an @Optus store because the customer service call centre are so inefficient & haven’t cancelled two numbers, one dating back to October 2017, despite being asked to on more than 2 occasions. $120 p/m charges need to be reimbursed, too.

Pathetic @Optus is now doing the ol’ government approach of announcing a review into their botched data security while customers continue to suffer and are forced to pay their bills for garbage. Little comfort Unless you’re some Deloitte staffer who will make $$ from the review
-
Alex Turnbull

After the @Optus mess now would be an ideal time to have a "login with mygov" to verify your identity without having the entity requiring verification having enormous amounts of personal information. @MarkDreyfusKCMP

@SkyNewsAust Where we are and yes our info was affected. Both Optus and Telstra are frankly, ****. We are in a decent size central west NSW town. But speeds and signal are garbage. All we got from Optus was 1 email, ohh opps. Then silence. Not good enough is an understatment.

Does the Optus data breach also affect telcos using its network, eg Amaysim?

Hey @Optus. Why do you have my details when I was never a customer? And why is it that 2 customer officers told us 2 different things within 1 hr? #OptusHack

-
Matthew Moyle-Croft

@stilgherrian @GordyPls @JoshuaWithers I think the "it was an easy crime" is about us being angry at Optus for leaving the valuable items (ie. our private info) on the side of the footpath so that a crime of opportunity could take place. Optus owed us a level of competence and instead pulled down their pants.

@DrShaneRRR @SharnelleVella @DrDStojanovski I can't remember the last time I was an Optus customer (at least 10 years) but have been notified of impact. Shocking data policy. Absolutely no need for them to keep identity verification materials for past customers.
