@LesStonehouse Faithful to Telstra for 40 years despite our blind loyalty not being reciprocated in quality of service or pricing. Switched to Optus at NBN connection time some years back. Could not be happier with Optus!! Stuff Telstra "and all who ro(r)t in her!!"

  • iB3nji Ben (@iB3nji) reported from Wollongong, State of New South Wales

@blake_andersson @Telstra @Optus Go Boost Mobile! I’m with them. Same Telstra network, unlimited Apple Music, more data for less. Pre-paid.

@JanB_QLD @oneplanetmikey @joshgnosis The companies I have worked at have always used third parties - this includes huge banks. They take care of KYC and return a simple Pass or Fail back to the bank. Optus have no requirement to keep this data - it’s crazy.

  • MaybeNotBoitano Tobias Lennon (@MaybeNotBoitano) reported

@Optus @mark_lilley Seriously wtf same here, I've tried your stupid ******* trouble shooting, now my service is limited and I can't even call you dumb *****

  • grafiti grafitesque (@grafiti) reported

The very least @Optus must do is pay all costs for people impacted by its failure to safeguard identity details that it should never have stored. Government must now legislate for large penalties for anyone else who fails to protect such data. @SBSNews

  • TV_baaack Trivalve (@TV_baaack) reported

When Optus started in business in Australia, I and others thought "Optus? WTF is an Optus? What a stupid name!" It's still a stupid name.

  • nickbonyhady Nick Bonyhady (@nickbonyhady) reported

Of course, it'll be up to the privacy commissioner to work out whether the ambiguity is wide enough to fit in Optus' practices. But either way, cyber experts have warned that creating a "honey pot" of valuable customer data is very risky.

  • deweycocks1 deweycocks (@deweycocks1) reported

@3AWNeilMitchell Why? This is an Optus problem. Why are we covering for a company owned by Singapore?

  • 2112simmo Mario Simo (@2112simmo) reported

@crystals_crazy @ClareONeilMP @Optus Obviously the problem is identity theft... not someone stealing your card....

  • maddog32367930 maddog (@maddog32367930) reported

@hughriminton @10NewsFirst The call cut out because the #optus man terminated her contact on the spot for no reason.

  • MaybeNotBoitano Tobias Lennon (@MaybeNotBoitano) reported

@Optus hey you stupid ***** answer my messages in your stupid customer service app been 4 hours and not even a ****** bot response

  • doritoeubanks alliages de tuyaux (@doritoeubanks) reported

@oneplanetmikey @JanB_QLD @joshgnosis No - not true. Third-party companies do the KYC, they keep this data encrypted securely. Optus only have this data because they offered a service to store this for customers with promises of security. I don’t know why anybody would take this offer, but it seems many did.
