Optus Issues Reports Near Cowes, State of Victoria

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Cowes and nearby locations:

  • stevescicluna Steve Scicluna (@stevescicluna) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus @NBN_Australia If the speed was at least getting above 50 Mbps, I’d attribute it to network congestion. However, 50 Mbps seems to be a hard limit, when I’m paying for 100 Mbps.

  • warnie1aus 💧Stephen Hetherington (@warnie1aus) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hey @Optus trying to transfer to nbn on pc but your chat is not working

  • eileen_1956 Eileen B Kenny (@eileen_1956) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@MitchRobinson05 Don’t touch the Optus deal. We had 10 weeks of problems, arguments .... and no internet! Go with 200GB Telstra landline/internet deal for $75 pm.

  • msg621 Mark G (@msg621) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus just wondering if there is a status update on my internet connection issue

  • Pezzamystic1 Pez (@Pezzamystic1) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

I bought a new 4G LTE Modem today, it appears to be providing an enhanced user experience on the @Optus network 🤩

  • msg621 Mark G (@msg621) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

still no internet - how long do I have to wait for @Optus to sort it’s operation out. After feeling pushed to switch to nbn within a few months rather than the allowed 18 months, a stuff up with connection dates and now no internet. Rubbish effort Optus. Truly awful

  • msg621 Mark G (@msg621) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

NOT GOOD ENOUGH @Optus. Feeling totally stuffed around by your inability to communicate (ironic) to me as a customer of several years

  • KoparaFallsKid 💧Robyn D💦 (@KoparaFallsKid) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@SydneySwitch I can't change that, Optus are in charge of their infrastructure arrangements, not me! The test just tells me Optus are using a Telstra server in the provision of their service to me.

  • AdrianoDiPrato Adriano Di Prato (@AdrianoDiPrato) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

+ Hello @Optus, I’ve now returned to Oz and the iPhone still hasn’t arrived. Additionally I was promised that within 5 days someone would contact me regarding my complaint. This hasn’t happened either. Clearly the incompetence previously stated just continues. #OptOUT

  • EFCcorrespond The Correspondent (@EFCcorrespond) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@NBN_Australia Thanks, Optus have smsd re local outage. Nothing on Twitter, crazy!

  • GlennHampson Glenn Hampson (@GlennHampson) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@thatdavidhooper I am having heartburn from Optus and NBN.Having them out to repair my NBN fault for a third time in a week.Thank goodness I don’t rely on it to work from home. I would be in strife. With pretty much a duopoly on services and monopoly on network, they don’t really strive to please.

  • Wayne02Wayne Wayne Harris (@Wayne02Wayne) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus seems a little odd that I can only get a decent deal with you for a note 10+ if I get a new number. Not the best way to treat a 16yr customer who is still spending $3k per year with you despite everything being out of contract! Time to look around I guess!

  • AdrianoDiPrato Adriano Di Prato (@AdrianoDiPrato) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus + 2/3 @optus just chose to send the “stock” to another customer and make me wait longer after the rekeying of the order. Basically they cancelled the original order and simply re-issued a new order with a new delivery address. #OptOUT

  • walkerhell Walker (@walkerhell) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus criminally overcharge for a service you can get, at a fraction of the price elsewhere. Will forever warn people against Optus.

  • EFCcorrespond The Correspondent (@EFCcorrespond) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus NBN outage in Thornbury 3071. Dead at my place...

  • G1NCHY g1nchy 🦐 (@G1NCHY) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Kogan @Optus Have been an Optus customer since August 1999. Time to give Kogan a go. 😁

  • notout50 Alex DC (@notout50) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@zachyp35 @Optus I've been having massive issues as well. Sometimes no coverage at all for an hour.

  • DynamicDusa Dusa Shah (@DynamicDusa) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Thanks @Optus after messing up my address on a NBN order I'm waiting over 3 hours to get through to someone to get the address fixed. Funnily enough they can't see what the problem is!!

  • yayafarisha7 Nik Nadiya Farisha (@yayafarisha7) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

    It's official. Optus is shit

  • adrianpaIaz A (@adrianpaIaz) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

You are honestly the worst 4G provider @Optus

  • TarynAnne5 Taryn (@TarynAnne5) reported

**** just got an email from Optus ..this is bad apparently a lot of info obtained by the hackers. I thought I’d be ok bc don’t use cc to pay only normal cash bpay/ transfer ? They suggest being hyper vigilant ..

  • sash_savage Sash (@sash_savage) reported

@dez_blanchfield @Optus 2/ As a customer, you still have a contractual agreement to uphold. it is up to them (the Company), to make the decision whether they are to wave the fee or not. in a court, you'd likely lose and pay your bill.

  • bazscott Baz Scott (@bazscott) reported

@fletch371 @Optus Sad = criminal. A breach in such a stupid fashion should result in fines so harsh it sinks the company. Strong deterrent is the only way these companies will take their obligations seriously.

  • OSthemagician Olga Syerbina (@OSthemagician) reported

The process otherwise is a nightmare and requires you to issue a police report if you feel you’re at risk of identity theft, before qualifying for a new ID #. I feel that the government can work better with Optus on mitigating the risk to citizens who are affected. @Optus

  • Fluid_Marketing Scott Holmes (@Fluid_Marketing) reported

    @doctormcdougall @Optus I haven’t had any such notice but I’ve only been a customer for 12+ years.

  • smudge_green Ms Smudge🐜🇦🇺 (@smudge_green) reported

@_davidlimbrick I'm an Optus customer. When I was in the store not so long ago a lady didn't have a driver's licence and produced a passport as ID.

  • henk_spierings Hmmm. (@henk_spierings) reported

Have now helped three elderly neighbours, trying to deal with their fear and terror about stolen data. So glad I’m not an #optus customer.

  • DB1960s 1960s (@DB1960s) reported

@Optus @RunnerSA18 Optus Customer's, Immediately change your Bank Passwords... and App Pins! Secondly, Register - annual fee, with a Major Credit Reporting Agency! Then you can regularly Log-In and check if any Credit/Loans have been opened in your Name! Notifications can be set too!

  • MarianSaines Twiglet (@MarianSaines) reported

@zinifax @9NewsMelb Both daughters had their Passport details taken. WHY does Optus request such far- reaching personal information for a simple mobile phone service ( in their case)?! 🙄😖😓And of course Optus breezily comments that if you are worried about misuse of yr passport. Apply 4 a new 1!

  • lincolnrobinson Lincoln Robinson (@lincolnrobinson) reported

@bejopil Retaining former customer details is appalling @Optus
