  • elvinaMS elvina sindartha ♕ (@elvinaMS) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus your wifi sucks BIG TIME

  • themediapod Ross Monaghan (@themediapod) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I was getting faster speeds on the Optus cable network 15 years ago. NBN means slower and more expensive service in my area.

  • corneliusJK Corné Kloppers (@corneliusJK) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus can you please help me activating my 4g plus modem i picked up this morning! Very frustrating as I would like to use it at home and get no response from technical support, phone or chat . Please help

  • julianprice_ Julian Price (@julianprice_) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus, help! My nbn isn’t working. I’ve tried the old “off and on again” trick and I can’t see any outages in my area. Can’t get through to technical support “too busy”.

  • G1NCHY g1nchy 🌏 (@G1NCHY) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@jendudley You forgot to @Telstra and @NBN_Australia. I don't feel so bad now, at least @optus replied to my tweets.

  • roadrunner83_ Roadrunner83 (@roadrunner83_) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@heart_explodes @Optus Sounds like the issue I had. Apart from the one text I didn't get anything... I find the best way is to be all to Optus over phone. Webchat nothing seems to be done

  • mikedoeslife Mike Stevens (@mikedoeslife) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@_Michelangelo__ @Optus Now see, I had TPG a while ago and hated it. Terrible connectivity, terrible customer service, tech didn't show up when I took the day off to be home for him, then wouldn't cancel my account. So, yeah. They all suck.

  • TeamBloomart Guy Incognito (@TeamBloomart) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@JohnBirmingham @Telstra @Optus I used to pay my dad's bigpond account (in his name, my cc direct debit deets). When he died I tried to cancel the account. Imagine how that went.

  • mikedoeslife Mike Stevens (@mikedoeslife) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Turns out the fastest way to get service in a Telstra store is to walk in with an Optus bag in your hand

  • KoparaFallsKid Robyn D (@KoparaFallsKid) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Pamelanicholls6 @andrewofoz @JaneCaro @Telstra I do that too, using my phone as a hotspot. But that chews through the data allowance and they (in my case Optus) don't let you have extra phone data because the internet is down. They still charge $10 a Gb for extra usage over the monthly allowance.

  • jiawhoo cheah (@jiawhoo) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus hello 👋 why is it so hard to reach optus, called twice with no return calls:( I received my nbn & router yesterday morning but the nbn has been blinking the whole day. Need help!

  • abcoathup Andrew B Coathup (@abcoathup) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus Mobile reception is poor. Will deal with it tomorrow.

  • mattdarveniza Matt (@mattdarveniza) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mipearson My Optus DSL has been dropping PPPoE auth and DNS once every couple of hours for the last few months and I haven’t tried to fix it because I know contacting Optus about it is such a ***********.

  • nonspecialist Colin Panisset (@nonspecialist) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mipearson They had a cable outage at our place. My ticket got merged with someone else’s somehow, and I’ve spent the past 2 weeks telling Optus when they call me that they have the wrong number for a call I didn’t open. My issue did get resolved, but I bet that other customer is cranky

  • monicasmeow Monicasmeow🐈 (@monicasmeow) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@mik_rosser @verbaliza That sort of makes no sense because it’s generally the gaining provider who would be at fault. So if you want to connect with Telco B for NBN it’s on Telco B. If Telco A (Optus) keep billing you that is different issue not necessarily connected to a new connection.

  • TheNotoriousNJW 🅽 🅹 🆆 (@TheNotoriousNJW) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus This is still a major issue. At peak hours we get glacial speeds where even loading a Twitter feed is problematic. The coverage map is not correct for the area at the end of collins street in Melbourne around 750. Was never an issue before. Something has changed.

  • tiges_rule Susan Luber (@tiges_rule) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Just when I thought @Optus was finally doing right by me their inept customer service staff had to go wreck everything again. Guess I’ll be changing mobile providers.

  • Stephen02721621 Stephen (@Stephen02721621) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

@Optus @HuaweiMobileAU Try connecting me a fkn phone line - 1 month no phone - you guys suck so bad

  • iDineshRoy Dinesh Kumar Roy (@iDineshRoy) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Hello @Optus, I am at Osway St, Broadmeadows VIC. The internet is too slow. It has been slow for a long time.

  • StepmeisterOz Snickers (@StepmeisterOz) reported from Melbourne, State of Victoria

Well after 15 years it’s see ya @Optus & hello @Telstra I can’t believe in 2019 Optus cannot provide a 4G service in Prahran & they don’t have any plans to upgrade that black spot either. It baffles me. Oh well, a complaint to the TIO means I pay nothing to leave. #ByeFelicia

Optus Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • TrevorHockins Trevor Hockins (@TrevorHockins) reported

@SenPaterson @Birmo @Birmo, didn't your Coalition, while in govt, water down the safeguards Optus was required to put in place? And didn't the former communications minister work for Optus for several years before he landed in Canberra?

  • sortius sortius (@sortius) reported

@SenPaterson @Birmo You're such an idiot. You went in to bat for Optus yesterday, attempting to cast doubt on something you have no idea about, and now you're trying to blame the government for a company poorly implementing bad legislation that your party made law

  • TGIFriday33 TGIF (@TGIFriday33) reported

@RichardKGrump @TPG_Telecom I recommend Aussie Broadband. Good call service. Reliable. no complaints. I have tried Telstra (crap overseas call service if you have problems), IInet (they were great until they got bought out), Won't touch Vodaphone (deceptive conduct), and of course, our data sieve Optus.

  • boobhunterz сука блять (@boobhunterz) reported

what ******** i haven't been with optus since 2018 and my data still got hacked WHY.

  • armyinpluto (pluto)⁷ 🐱「 -ㅅ-「 (@armyinpluto) reported

@Optus give us affected customers cheaper phone plans with same benefits as reparation and one month payment free #OptusHack

  • Oz_Rob_OG Oz_Rob (@Oz_Rob_OG) reported

@Hammyhamster10 The old “…at least we’re not as bad as X “. We can be sure Optus is doing some corporate kumbaya to try and conjure up a distraction from their clownery.

  • DavidKn86972102 David Knowles (@DavidKn86972102) reported

@strangerous10 I am an Optus customer. At the moment, despite thier failings, I am going to stick with them. However, if they don't step up to cover the costs of each state waiving renewal fees etc, then I will walk away from them.

  • TMRQld Transport and Main Roads Queensland (@TMRQld) reported

@Sooty246 Due to constantly changing procedures regarding the issue of new Customer Reference Numbers (CRN), it is expected that high volumes of customers impacted by the OPTUS privacy breach will attend Customer Service Centres today to request a new licence number 1/2

  • RuncibleH Captain Nemo's Left Sock. Misanthrope. 🐕 (@RuncibleH) reported

We know that companies are hanging onto customers' data forever. The Optus data breach may not just affect current customers. If you have ever been a customer of Optus then your data may have been hacked.

  • Laughatsaltyge1 Laughatsaltygeelong (@Laughatsaltyge1) reported

@vrachelv9 @bridgerollo But using the optus network coles was just a handset seller
