@EurekaJustice I received one from Optus. Don’t even remember being a customer of Optus! 🤨

  • sunsetriver88 Jax (@sunsetriver88) reported

@ClareONeilMP How long will vulnerabilities stay unfixed if hackers know there's no point telling the org, but they can still sell the data (including new incoming customer info) to 3rd parties? Especially while companies like Optus leave the door wide open.

  • traerohleder Trae (@traerohleder) reported

For the Optus Hack, try go onto the Breachforums website and try locate the “optusdata” user’s IP Address, and track them down like that. If it’s a VPN, try request traffic data logs.

  • TheRiffJet Riff Jet (@TheRiffJet) reported

@iiNet Got a call from what appears to be someone with a Beijing accent.Could be @iiNet might not be iinet. If it was iinet, and in light of Optus/Medicare breaches.Having your idiot staff call me,without any safety checks in place. No wonder companies get hacked. Have a manager call me

  • stevekinaus Steve Kirkbright (@stevekinaus) reported

@gardengnome_au Hmm ‘how?’ exactly!. After they sent my new licence to an unknown address (and was never recovered) they still use the system which compromised my data. Even without the optus leak. All systems need review.

  • StaceySparrow10 Stacey 🇵🇸🇺🇦 (@StaceySparrow10) reported from Adelaide, State of South Australia

@Kanga561 Majority of my details have changed since then luckily but it's bloody stressful isn't it. I hope you don't get too much trouble from it. It's absolutely bullshit. I had it happen with optus, now this. It's beyond a joke.

@EurekaJustice @DebEdmonds60s Unfortunately, in that case, Optus may be an issue also. My son received an email from them. An old email address he was no longer using. He hasn’t been a customer for years. 😢

  • iammrdom mr dom (@iammrdom) reported

Seems like there’s been some significant cellular infrastructure damage in the Adelaide Hills. Optus is still offline due to damage.

  • Commsday Grahame Lynch (@Commsday) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk Would help is if the gov't & Optus were on the same page on what actually happened. Optus is advertising this weekend that it is sharing its learnings with other businesses on this. Info on how the hack actually occurred would be a great start AND help to others.

  • JesseAddison12 Jesse Addison (@JesseAddison12) reported

@Jeremy_Kirk @1000ftview @ClareONeilMP While removing incentive for crims to tell the org data was compromised. How much does it hamstring our response to ID theft risk if a bad actor finds an easy trove of info (Optus) & there's no incentive to tell the org? Will orgs even find out they're (still?) bleeding data?
