@Chris_Murray48 @deniseshrivell Even the simplest systems have a trigger so if unusually large amounts of data are being uploaded, the alarms go off and the transfer shuts down ... just speculating but it seems Optus cut a lot of corners to save $$$ and time.

  • SueBursztynski Sue Bursztynski (@SueBursztynski) reported

@_manin_black_ @slamup Never said it was. Just that you can quit Optus and STILL be affected.

  • Saint_Mich Michelle (@Saint_Mich) reported

.@iiNet asking someone to confirm their identity by sending a photo of their licence via email is tone deaf in the days following the @Optus hack. No lessons learned regarding protecting customer data

  • Bumbleb12044521 Bumblebee (@Bumbleb12044521) reported

@Brodhe It’s been on my bank accounts for a couple of days. I also found the Optus email in my junk mail box. And now have implemented the Equifax solution after challenging Optus for not doing anything to protect customers.

  • magician_gin Giraffe Magician (@magician_gin) reported

@tonyparish @Optus The new customer service retention technique. Ignore them until they go to @Telstra - problem solve

  • sneakyXR5 Tough Gutted Dawg (@sneakyXR5) reported

@nadinevoncohen If you are a previous or current optus customer your identity has been breached, no ifs or buts, but regardless appalling corporate governance from Optus. For those wanting a new passport be prepared to wait a couple of years for it to be processed.

  • ChrisPGLW ChrisPGLW (@ChrisPGLW) reported

probably don't need #Optus if we bring back telecom as a public service #auspol #OptusHack

  • ShibaBaggins Shiblet (@ShibaBaggins) reported

@7NewsMelbourne @Optus Guarantee this event never happened, gov is showing their hand already to what this was really about. New legislation... it won’t benefit Australians.

  • gilfer Bantrim Smoot (@gilfer) reported

You know who's never been hacked? Nickelback. ****** learn a trick from the pros, Optus.

  • dwightwalker Dwight Walker (@dwightwalker) reported

found @optus is so heavily into marketing spin that they forget the core business of customer data so squander it quickly and are totally unprepared to handle the debacle of #databreach - their main site is still just a glitzy marketing vehicle with little help for victims
