Hackers are a real worry. Overtaking the world at this point. Optus will never recover from this. #OptusHack

On the Optus date breach fines. If the breach is shown to be the result of poor security protocols, then yes, fines and potential criminal charges. At the least they should be liable to pay fair compensation to anyone impacted by the breach.

@Blazer55 @9NewsAUS @Optus They are cutting down staff.

Phoned Optus to opt out of direct debit because they can't be trusted with my bank info after they opened a door to criminals and labelled it a cyber attack. Told direct debit is part of my plan and it was an attack by bad actors. I ask if it was Kevin Spacey.

@natecochrane I think it’s more true that the public version is a fiction. Remember when Optus lost control of voice recordings it kept for the entire phone network ? They said optical fibres had been cut and intercepted. It didn’t explain the supplied evidence of how the data was accessed.

  • Sculptmud Ms Benny Saunders (@Sculptmud) reported

@randlight I was an Optus customer for just one day two years ago. After giving up on Telstra customer service I signed up only to find Optus had no mobile coverage near my home. Now I get an email saying I need to protect myself from their loss of my data. Why were they allowed to keep it?

@Optus @IsaacsonMarie your press release is garbage talk to your cuatomers

  • EEnuph EnoughsEnough ☢️💡 (@EEnuph) reported

Optus hacker says they've release 10k identities. I read Optus was contacting those most at risk, first. I was contact last Friday. Many were notified on Saturday. I never notified Optus when I changed my name in 2018 so I'm hoping my identity can't be used 🤞.

  • vanOnselenP Peter van Onselen (@vanOnselenP) reported

Senator Jordan Steele-John on ABC TV just now: Qt on his colleague Senator Thorpe and questions re her behaviour: I haven’t been paying attention to issues beyond the NDIS which you got me in here to talk about. Nothing more… Qt on Optus: long winded answer, lots to discuss…

  • Marty_521 Martin (@Marty_521) reported

@VictorDominello Went to service NSW yesterday to do this and they refused, saying they weren't doing it for people who were requesting it solely for the Optus hack
