@Optus Yup - bought some extra data and continued to use the Optus 4g to power my household. I will be sending the bill the way of Telstra if they ever try to resolved the issue :(

Just when I thought @Optus was finally doing right by me their inept customer service staff had to go wreck everything again. Guess I’ll be changing mobile providers.

@Optus Your technician said I wasn’t home. I was home all morning. I did not hear any knock on my door. Not even a call or message to me. And again they rescheduled on 6 May 2019. What a customer service

@JohnBirmingham @Telstra @Optus I used to pay my dad's bigpond account (in his name, my cc direct debit deets). When he died I tried to cancel the account. Imagine how that went.

@Optus, help! My nbn isn’t working. I’ve tried the old “off and on again” trick and I can’t see any outages in my area. Can’t get through to technical support “too busy”.

@JohnBirmingham @Telstra @Optus Oh I feel your pain. I had to organise internet with a fixed IP address for my Mum’s home security cams. She kept cancelling her internet account because “I don’t use that rubbish” and setting up new, costly phone accounts that involved cancel fees. #dayslost

@Pamelanicholls6 @andrewofoz @JaneCaro @Telstra I do that too, using my phone as a hotspot. But that chews through the data allowance and they (in my case Optus) don't let you have extra phone data because the internet is down. They still charge $10 a Gb for extra usage over the monthly allowance.

@mik_rosser @verbaliza That sort of makes no sense because it’s generally the gaining provider who would be at fault. So if you want to connect with Telco B for NBN it’s on Telco B. If Telco A (Optus) keep billing you that is different issue not necessarily connected to a new connection.

@_Michelangelo__ @Optus Now see, I had TPG a while ago and hated it. Terrible connectivity, terrible customer service, tech didn't show up when I took the day off to be home for him, then wouldn't cancel my account. So, yeah. They all suck.

@heart_explodes @Optus Sounds like the issue I had. Apart from the one text I didn't get anything... I find the best way is to be all to Optus over phone. Webchat nothing seems to be done

@mjrowland68 @BreakfastNews I was getting faster speeds on the Optus cable network 15 years ago. NBN means slower and more expensive service in my area.

Well after 15 years it’s see ya @Optus & hello @Telstra I can’t believe in 2019 Optus cannot provide a 4G service in Prahran & they don’t have any plans to upgrade that black spot either. It baffles me. Oh well, a complaint to the TIO means I pay nothing to leave. #ByeFelicia

@sussanley @AlboMP The main problem here is those stupid data retention laws your government passed. Oh, and Optus not giving a **** about data security.

@colintucker I don't think the media are still falling for that line. I'm an Optus customer who can't even get through to their help centre. "A system error has occurred please try again later". Seems to sum it all up in a marvellously understated way.

@tobycmurray @jjwilliamscyber @DrTamaraWatson1 Partly, that's because PINs won't help if your password has been stolen. If someone can log into your account they can still sim swap you. The pins only help against people calling into the telco and impersonating you. But fortunately, Optus paswds don't seem to be breached.

@EVillainess @markrayfield2 @Jeremy_Kirk Better check the ACMA carrier legislation and then the audit requirements. 👍 Optus have failed to maintain customer privacy. Failed to secure the private data AND have failed to protect data IMO this was a deliberate act from cabal to force a cyber security event in the future.

PAUL O’SULLIVAN Chairman, Optus has been Chairman of Optus since October 2014. When you look at the list of executives at @Optus there does NOT seem to be an executive in charge of SECURITY. It’s all about marketing. Who is in charge of protecting the network. ?????

@Jeremy_Kirk Optus should be able to determine what IP addresses pumped the DB, if they even had logging turned on, but we'll never get the full picture, given the lack of transparency. #OptusDataCockUp not an #optushack
